I got this craftsman lt2000 last year and finally getting a chance to work on it. This riding mower has been sitting for a couple of years, and needs a few repairs to get this machine up and running good again. Lets see what it takes to make this lawn mower run, drive, stop, and cut grass again.
It is good to see young people getting their hands dirty- keep it up
Thank you. I love working on all kinds of machines. I was a jet mechanic in the Air Force.
Nice machine. Thanks for the good how too. Very informative n helpful. Thank you. Nice pigs. Take ur time doin your thing. Enjoy it. Thanks again.
Just keep the good video coming I like watching
Thank you. I really appreciate the support. I’ll have videos weekly.
Nice work so far on this craftsman Alex 👍
Thank you John. I’m ready for spring to be here.
@@freedommowers640 me to this cold weather can go away lol
Alex go make you laugh…Kyle by the Creek shouted you out today and said something along the lines “Not everybody has it as warm as Alex on Freedom Mowers”. 😂😂😂 and look how cold you’ve go it today!
Haha. Yes I just watched his video on the husqvarna. He is doing great work over there and certainly has much colder weather there. Can’t wait to see his channel get big.
@@freedommowers640 both of you guys are doing great!
I was thinking the same thing! As soon as I say that, then we see Alex here in the cold. Great work Alex- keep it up!
Freedom mower. Feliz inicio 2024!!
man look at that pile a mowers ....whooooo hoooo
There might be one or two out there hahaha
Make sure to check under the foot mats. A lot of rust happens with these if they are not cleaned properly. I had a lt2000 but it was a 2012 and was black. And it had a bad rusting problem from that.
I love these videos, and I look forward to many, many more. Thanks for posting them, Alex.
Thank you so much for the continued support. I’ll have many more videos coming soon.
Thank you for the video
Thats going to be a really nice tractor Alex. The engine sounds great and after you fix the deck it should sell easily being it is my favorite color. Resale red. You do work very hard and thats not the best temps to work in. 👍✌🇺🇸
Thank you Roger. Yes good ole re sale red. My favorite as well. They fly off the shelf. I would like to get top dollar for this one and may even add a bagger. I’ll spend some money on this one to get the reward on the end. I hope things are good your way brother.
Great the pigs are cool and the video was a good learning experience and glad it was not to difficult happy new year to you and your family can't wait for part 2 and the other projects for 2024
Happy new year and thank you very much for the support. Yes it wasn’t too bad but certainly needs the deck rebuilt and a new carb to be up to the standard I like to sell. I’ll have plenty of fun projects coming up.
Hey Alex one tip I got, I like to use starting fluid instead of carb cleaner cause most starting fluids have a lubricant in them (even says it on the bottle) and that will help to reduce washout and scoring/smoothing of the cylinders. Great vid brother
That’s a great tip. Thank you very much. I usually like to just use two stroke mix and just dribble a little so that I’m getting some cylinder lubricant as well but I was slacking.
great job
Awesome videos
Thank you very much!!
Gotta love those Nikki 6 carbs. Taryl said it best with the song junk, junk, junk!
I have the most trouble with these carbs. I have rebuilt some with good luck but most of the time it’s just issue after issue. Thank you for stopping by 🙏
Breaks and Scrap-em motor too!
That engine is half horsepower less than the one that is on my craftsman ys lawn mower just got a new carburetor put on it and it is running again Glad you got that mower saved from the scrap yard
I need to get this one dialed in so it can run as good as yours Robert. Thank you for always supporting the channel.
@@freedommowers640 your are welcome Alex you are going to get this mower back in running again in do time
Nice machine Alex! Sometimes one part isn’t enough. It certainly will make a great mower for someone when you get it finished. Like almost all Nikki carbs they are great when they work but I have very little luck when they have been sitting. Thanks for the upload and I hope you and your family are doing well!
Thank you so much! I did get the parts in. Hopefully I’ll have this one ready for next weeks video.
when checking to see if your needle is holding back gas , your not going to see carb leak if you have it tightened up , leave bolts loose and a gap so the gas will leak out before going into intake tube and then into your crankcase
That’s a good tip. I usually take a flashlight on these and look down through the carb after letting it sit for a bit and can see if the gas is seeping by. I’ll have to try that tip though. Thank you.
yep ya can just walk away and do something else and keep an eye on it easy to see the gas dripping if its not holding and no chance of any going down in cylinder/ crankcase , also fill the tank when doing this ya want as much pressure as possible on the gravity feed to make sure it holds on a full tank @@freedommowers640
A Troy bilt pony deck should fit
Yes and thank you. That’s actually the mower I took this deck off from. I’m just going to be ordering a spindle kit with new blades. Thank you for the tips and support.
thanks for your videos they are great
i think you mentioned it in a previous video but i cant remember ,what do you clean the head lights with they come out awesome
Thank you for the support. I just use rubbing compound or polishing compound and a random orbital buffer. You can do it by hand but it’s tedious and takes a ton of work.
Thank you I appreciate it
How did you get the stearing wheel so black?
I used a heat gun on the steering wheel. It was the only way I could bring some color back to the faded plastic.
u dnt run all them carb parts thru the ultrasonic ?
A great video Alex as always. How do you like those niki carbs? They have a bad reputation on youtube. I've never dealt with one. Hope all is going well with you and your family. I really appreciate your standard of only selling good reliable equipment it says a lot about you. Thanks again
I’m on the fence with them. I have had some good luck in the past rebuilding them, but they really are a pain if they aren’t working perfectly. Thank you the family is doing well here and really appreciate your support. Yes I want to make sure I’m not selling anyone a machine that I am not happy with. Too many people taking advantage of others, and I don’t want to be part of that crowd.
@@freedommowers640 well said Alex, i feel the same way about selling equipment! If its not good enough for me ,i dont want to sell it to someone else. 👍
how cold was it? (-:
I think about 26 degrees.
Cant stand wrenching in the cold.
Yea this time of year certainly is dreary and hurts to work in the cold. I’m trying to keep the shop warm but it isn’t enough to be comfortable.
I’ve done it since I was 18 full time and still working at 72 to buy medicines 😢
how do you find these for free?
Marketplace.
I have a question about a john deere 216 lawn tractor and if it run a little rich is normal Cuz it doesn't smoke out of the muffler when u start it up on a cold day
Sometimes when you start up when cold and you have the choke on it will puff out a bit of black smoke. It’s just where the fuel mixture is rich to help get it started.
Okay an I don't get any type of smoke out of the muffler when I start it up and it looks invisible type of at cold start and runs for a bit until warm temperature to ilde up to put in to gear and no smoke at all so I think it was taking care of or something to run like that an i wish I could give you a picture or video lol of running an I like all of ur videos and u do a great job on them after u clean them up
I need a 19.5 up brings engine any suggestions
I would try and check around your local area on the marketplace. I see engines up for sale around me pretty often.
the tires needs air
Lionel sounds pretty happy with that hot girl in his den 😅
Right!!! That’s one happy pig 🐽
Video idea make a long video of just getting a lot of mowers running and riding and good to go
Thanks for the idea! I might see about trying to get a few going at once.
