    Just started doing research into laser cutting and engraving the other week. I love to do tons of research on anything before I jump into it. I found your channel the other week and have been watching basically every video you've published. I can't thank you enough for all the amazing info you share with everyone and it's really helped fuel my drive to get into lasers.

    Started with my 10w diode and just joined some business groups, pounded the pavement so to speak, knocked on doors, emailed companies. First big client was a local coffee shop chain of nine stores, doing their cups for their coffee loyalty program. From their it was some car dealerships for keychains, then a bigger sized Winery and Brewery. After awhile it's become like dominoes, once you get one others follow. My co2 finally arrives next week!

    Just took delivery of a new 100w MOPA Fiber Laser... just learning how to use it.
    Glad I found your channel.

    Hi Matt, beautiful results! For the black, you might try powder coating powder after the last engraving pass. Seen some great results on wood. I think 911 did a video on it.🤔

    I am running my own business and just watched your video on engraving metal with the fiber laser, WOW I have to have one. can you give me more info on the one you have or recommend a good quality brand. I've done some research but rely heavily on personal experience and recommendations. Your channel is number one for me in Laser anything. You are awesome and thanks for the videos and keep up the good work.

      I have a link in the description for the one I have. It is really easy to run and has been a bulletproof machine so far. No complaints on this end.

    Looks awesome Matt, to get black without using any additional product, you can try a frequency of 20 to 25 slow down speed to about 100mm a second and higher the focus by 3mm. I've had some excellent results on various metals, come out black after 2 or 3 passes.

    • @laserengravingwithmatt
      @laserengravingwithmatt  Год назад +2

      Yeah I have tried that but it doesn’t go black with aluminum.

      Not done too much aluminum but found these settings which may be worth a try.
      These are the best settings for engraving dark colour over Aluminum with a fiber laser engraving machine BCF, Raycus, JPT or others.

    i subscribed....but I just had a question. what brand chiller do you use for your laser engraver. is it the CW 5200? or do you use just a bucket of water with ice.?

    • @laserengravingwithmatt
      @laserengravingwithmatt  11 месяцев назад +1

      The fiber doesn’t use a chiller, but my thunder Laser uses one and it’s the one that came with it.

      @laserengravingwithmatt7833 thanks for the reply.
      Well for some odd reason I thought you were setup on a cnc router table type machine. I believe your machine is strictly for lazer etching.
      Maybe you can help. If not no biggie. I recently purchased an openbuild cnc router, so recently that I haven't received it yet. One for sure thing I want to do is some lazer work and I will for sure want to etch some aluminum and also stainless but more set on aluminum. So I'm more keen on getting a lazer head....kit?
      I wouldn't mind spending $1000-1500 and maybe all out 2k. I do understand they are not cheap. If I could get close to what you have achieved I don't think I would have to upgrade. Any info would be much appreciated.

      @BuyBuildThrash if you get the laser head, you can catch that stuff but you can’t do what I did in the video with that laser head

      @@laserengravingwithmatt pretty sure catch was suppose to be etch. To be more clear I could possibly etch but not as deep or?

    • @laserengravingwithmatt

    • @pfiltz
      @pfiltz Год назад +2

      @@laserengravingwithmatt I hope so. I'm working on a 1500 pc order, and it takes me 12 minutes to run 6 keeping the speed down as to not loose quality in the print. I'm not so much engraving cork, as I am "marking" it. I'm on the verge of ordering my first Fiber laser. 50w BWM laser.

    I'm so jealous that u got big orders xP I've been making samples, doing ETSY and going to businesses and trying word of mouth and even cold calling. But it's been so cold (sale wise) here in Toronto for the past couple months, LIKE REALLY COLD... I feel as if i NEED to make a website to be seen so that's what im in the process of doing.
    I have a suggestion, not sure if it'll work but u could try it. Why use brilliance? It's expensive. Why not just try masking tape, burn it off by using 100% settings and then do spray paint once you got the depth?
    Or just use different metals, Brass makes an amazing black mark and so does Stainless steel

    • @laserengravingwithmatt
      @laserengravingwithmatt  Год назад +1

      I use Brilliance because it’s faster and easier on AL. I have tried the tape but it bleeds.

  • @lunatic231
    @lunatic231 9 месяцев назад +1

    Lovely video man but is it alright to continually run your machine at 100%

    • @laserengravingwithmatt
      @laserengravingwithmatt  9 месяцев назад +2

      Well I look at it this way. I run it for 100% and it goes out in 3 years and get things done faster or run it at 90% and run for 4 years and have the things take longer. I mostly run everything at 100%.

    • @lunatic231
      @lunatic231 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@laserengravingwithmatt love that explanation lol let’s just say running 100 all the time shortens it to half its estimated life. 50,000 hours at full power is still pretty great.
