I have the 1390 RMLASER. I have had really good luck with it. It is from China but Ray the owner has given me the best service I've ever had with a company. I just thought I'd mention them. Their pricing is good and the quality of the machine is very good.
I do miss my Friday morning coffee with Matt, where I learned to improve my laser skills and building that business. But…. I am sitting here celebrating what you and Sara have accomplished over the past ten years or so. So, I while I may not get to enjoy as much time with you guys, learning stuff, it means that you are taking care of your family and future. Go get em!
I love my Thunder Nova 51 130w Matt I switched out the compressor for a 50ltr 59 decibel compressor. Nice to see you're all keeping busy over the pond 🇬🇧
Glad to hear your success! I always love to hear when a small business is successful!! This lets everyone know that they can also do the same with a little hard work.. KEPT IT UP....
I am very happy for you and your family to have such a flourishing laser business. Glad to see you went with another thunder. I'm sure they're happy to have you represent them. Thanks as always very nice to watch your vids while I'm out in my shop gluing up projects 😂 🤙🏻
I just got my Thunder Aurora 8 UV. I absolutely love it, Thunder has been great to work with. The price on a Thunder may seem high at first but it comes with everything you need and US based customer support. Great video Matt!
what i dont have is space, but i Ordered the Thunder Bolt, and will be working with that until i build up to fix the shed in the back, then the 35 will be a size upgrade!
love your content! I'm in the woodworking space, but i see soo many opportunities with these lasers! thank you for the videos! @@laserengravingwithmatt
Congrats on the new Thunder laser! I really want to upgrade to that machine but I’m just getting started on my business and gonna have to make do with my 80 W Omtech. Any whoot, in reference to your chiller on top of your machine have you thought of putting it on wheels? I picked up some furniture movers with wheels that my chiller fits on perfectly and moves with my machine when I have to move it. I picked mine up at Harbor Freight. It’s just some wood slats on wheels. Hope that helps. Best of luck and looking forward to more videos!!
Totally agree! Times have changed and the expensive lasers like Epilog and Trotec now have way more competition plus you don't have to use proprietary software. Love using Lightburn across most lasers. Thunder, AP Laser, Aeon are definitely my top three and thunder will be my next laser
@@laserengravingwithmatt yep! The times of high priced lasers and proprietary software are over... Here's also looking at Glowforge. You either adapt and change or die a slow death as Glowforge is doing after a second round of employee layoffs
I was looking at Thunder and OMTech for a while now, however could not afford it now and didn’t want to finance. I ordered a Roly MK2 30W to get me started. It’s coming this week. Now time to start hustling and make some money!
I bought my epilogue three years ago for 20 K. I sold it two months ago for 15 K. I was gonna buy a nova 35 but I realize I don’t need that big of a bed size. I’m gonna buy the bolt next week or so. We are in Chanhassen! Hi neighbor
Heck yeah! I have a thunder nova 51 130w too. How do you vent outside without it being an issue for your neighbors? I have mine connected to a Filtrabox but replacement filters are crazy expensive and I’m trying to figure out a DIY fume extraction solution that will allow me to vent outside without the smell bothering my neighbors.
That looks like an awesome new machine. If I get a CO2 laser it will be thunder. Seems like the best bang for the buck. Still in diode and I am planning to update or add another diode that can cut. I am localish and could be interested in the table saw. What do you have and how much?
130W, large bed - love it, you lucky bugger! I've been watching you for several years and your videos are so motivating! Got a quick question - You've had at least four large form lasers, so how many mirrors have they had? Strange question, I know, but mine is 80W, 25" x 18" and has four mirrors. That forth one makes adjusting it a real pain.
@@laserengravingwithmatt That is amazing. Hey. . 2 more weeks and we'll get to shake hands. Can't wait to sit and chat. I'll have that strong microbials fondant for you also.
You need a CNC Next (Cut thick material without burnt edges) thunder is cool But for the money I choose AEON for my lasers The NOVA series is awesome and the MIRA for beginners is Great too Their new EMP Fiber is amazing (Its a 50 JPT) But what ever you have just make something !!!!
When you first started selling online, where did you get your shipping/packaging material from. Did you use Uline and biught in bulk or did you start out small when you first started?
I agree 100% with you. I have an epilog Helix. Great Machine, but! they are losing market share. they are way too overpriced. The fact you can't use Lightburn is actually a big thing too. for the price of 1 Epilog you can get 2 thunders. And with UV/DTF getting more popular, I'd rather invest 30k in a logojet than a Epilog Pro. An Epilog Rep at a graphics show told me their advantage is that the epilog tube doesn't require the water chiller. Hell, I water my lawn every other day and wash my dishes by hand. I have no issue pouring distilled water into the water chiller every once in while. LOL. keep up the great work with your Videos .
I have a love hate relationship with Etsy. Sometimes I get a sale and it all works great they love it. Other time I just feel people want to complain and they treat Etsy more as a large corporation not small businesses within it. Either way I can’t complain it’s brought me business
Outta curiosity why didnt you get a massive flatbed Co2 i sometimes see them at super successful shops like yourself. As you already have the other thunder for smaller jobs. Not bashing, just curious 🤔
@carymartz8762 While that is an option, Thunder USA does additional set-up and QA on their machines when they arrive stateside. On top of that, you have access to US-based support which I continually hear is top-notch. You won't get either from an overseas factory.
I recently imported a 3kw fiber laser cutter from China. They set up an eng group for me to join and when I ask a question at any time of the day they respond within a few hours. I didn't have a choice though, I could spend 120K for the same import machine being resold in the US, or spend 25K for the exact same machine. It's really not as difficult as some people believe it is. That machine is maybe 4K from the supplier and maybe 1500 extra for full duties paid shipping to your door. @@MarkManSC
So want to change my Omtech 130 to a thunder laser. I am definitely liking what i see with the thunder lasers.
Yeah thunder is definitely worth it.

That’s a good idea. The only problem is I don’t have room on the side of the laser but it might fit behind it. I will have to look.
