Hey hey, I love that you can purchase all of your tools you need for this project in one section of the store. This makes it easy for sure! You guys always make things look so easy, thank you so much for this information. I really appreciate your channel!
OMG! I soooooooooooo want to do this over my dark laminate floors on my entire first floor. You have given me FAITH that I can do them (with some help of course)! Thanks for this!!
This is amazing. Thank you for doing this. I’m about to buy an older house that needs some renovation and this is perfect and gives me confidence I can do the changes myself.
You're welcome. Try it and see. You may be scared at first, but you will learn a lot. You can always contact us on www.diypowercouple.com if you have questions.
I love y’all. Thank you so much. because we’ve been contemplating doing our own flooring as opposed to hiring someone because that cost is insane! so we’re gonna do it ourselves. Especially after watching your video! We just need to work on our patience levels because my wife has little to None! Bless her. 😂😂 Thanks again! Appreciate you guys!
Another great video, thank you ❤️ I can now finish my floors my Son didn't finish. I was so unhappy with my floors because 10 doorways unfinished. Some planks have separated. I got tips on how to fix that. You both are such a great team! Me and my deceased husband worked together doing home remodeling and flipping houses for 30 years. He passed away on Christmas Day 2015. It's been rough in more ways than one. Trying to raise our great grandson and keeping up with 1600sf home hasn't been easy. Watching your videos has really helped me! Thanks again 💞🙏
I know Im just a stranger to you but I read your comment and I just wanted to say that my heart goes out to you. What you are doing is not easy by any means at all and Im prating for the Lord to bless you and your family💙💙
Thanks for the tips and tricks on what not to do that you guys figured out! This has been something ive been wanting to do for quite a while now and your video was huge booster for my confidence😂
pretty solid video. need to redo the entire basement of my home and will definetly take the tip of using differnt boxes to keep the color consistent throughout the job!
Great video. Thanks for your hard work! Editing tip, when you have a clip with a large amount of text to read, please give the viewer more time to read it. Several times there was not enough time to read all of the text before it cut to a new clip. Love the videos, keep them coming!
I am getting ready to upgrade the bedroom floors at my moms house from carpet to laminate flooring. I love the idea of making the upgrades ourselves and your video gives me a little more confidence that maybe I can do this 😅 Money saved on this project can go towards other upgrades. Your videos are great. You have a new follower !
Hi. I used Procore for a project last year. It was so easy to install. Unfortunately it’s no longer available at our Lowes. Do you recommend a similar project? Thanks for your videos.
We use quarter round trim to cover the gaps otherwise you would have to remove all of the baseboards and cut your flooring up to the wall. Then you would have to place all of your baseboards on top of the flooring. It is more work to remove the baseboards.
Is it best to go the opposite or same directions with the Smartcore while laying the vinyl planks? Meaning the taped seams in the same direction as the planks. Hoping I’m making sense. I have it out but not taped, that’s tomorrow’s chore with the planks.
I love your channel. You give excellent advice, tutorials and ideas. I will be coming back every time you post. Thank you both and God bless your family.
Great video! I'm gearing up to start my house! I have a question...if you buy planks with the underlayment attached, as you guys did, do you still need to lay down the separate underlayment (yellow sheet)???
In our opinion, yes. There are a lot of benefits. Take a look at our other underlayment video. ruclips.net/video/gpdRRHzabBE/видео.htmlsi=9UuZqi43Qtg_FWA3
Super helpful! Thanks! Quick question - I am trying to install vinyl throughout my house. When I tried to install the second row, the plank start lifting up a little from the longer side....any idea why?
Sometimes we placed the box of planks or a set of weights on top to keep the new rows in place. This may help you as well. Please let us know if it works for you! Best, -DIYPC 😃✨
Hey thanks for the video it was very detailed I have one question you guys left little gap at the end does flooring stay at one place or move ? How to make sure it doesn’t?
Hi Jaimie! It's hard for us to tell because we are filming at the same time that takes up time. 😆 This is probably a weekend project if you have all the materials you need. It took us about 4 days.
You did an awesome job guys. I would like to ask if the floor has a bounce? I saw when you installing it that it was moving up and down when you added pressure, so I wonder, when you walk on it if it does move/ bounce.
It's a floating floor, but (no) it doesn't have a bounce. Once you lay it all down, it settles nicely on the ground. The underlayment really helps the flooring. Hope this helps!!! -DIYPC 😃✨
MsTameka, we are doing our daughter's room next, but with marble-looking vinyl tiles. BTW, we will be on a live stream February 27th 8:15 p.m. see you then.
Amazing! I am so glad I came across your RUclips! I will be doing my my daughter room. Did have a question what do I do if there is a part that sinks in? Thank you both once again! 💜
Hi Maribel! You want to make sure your sub floor is level before installing planks so that they stay interlocked. Here are two videos that may provide a solution to the part that sinks in: 1. Prepare Subfloor for Vinyl Planks ruclips.net/video/4IkIxPzSJl0/видео.html 2. Q & A Vinyl Flooring ruclips.net/video/4IkIxPzSJl0/видео.html
I started my wash room which is not big at all the area is about 9 x8 feet. I am exhausted. I only used a box and a half. I am stuck on the door area trying to cut around the door BUT I watched your video and tomorrow I will be at Lowes when they open to get the oscillating tool. My back hurt my knees are sore I am tired.
Tamika, the oscillating tool will make it much easier for you to put the tiles under the door. Keep going...push through... visualize the end. We are cheering 📣🐯 you on! You CAN DIY TOO! Do that thang! Let us know how it turns out. -DIYPC 😃✨
You're correct. Some padded plank manufacturers recommend an underlayment for a moisture barrier in between. It's best to check with the specific manufacturer to be sure.
Hey there, great thing about this project is that you don't have to remove the baseboards. We only emoved and replaced the quarter round. You CAN remove the baseboards if you want a seamless look on your flooring. Hope this helps! -DIYPC 😃✨

Thank you! Appreciate you guys and my choice is Planks👍🏼
Good choice! Planks are great. Thanks a bunch!!!😀
Nice finish!! I’ve never seen anyone put down the bottom sheet before installing the vinyl planks. I like that a lot!! Thx for sharing!;)

Can you explain the expansion joints? After you lay the flooring, what do you use to cover up the gap between the floor and baseboard?

Hello what color is the floor or can you share the link? I may have missed it above
This is Charleston Oak.
Hey thanks for the video it was very detailed
I have one question you guys left little gap at the end does flooring stay at one place or move ?
How to make sure it doesn’t?
Interlocking vinyl planks are considered a floating floor that need a little gap to breathe...expand and contract during weather changes.
Is it necessary to remove the baseboard before you install? Please let me know. Thanks.
Not if you use quarter round trim, which is what we use. For us, it make things easier. -DIYPC 😃✨
@@DIYPowerCouple thank you so much.

Hi Jaimie! It's hard for us to tell because we are filming at the same time that takes up time. 😆 This is probably a weekend project if you have all the materials you need. It took us about 4 days.

question, what is a threshold?
According to google...a strip of wood, metal, or stone forming the bottom of a doorway and crossed in entering a house or room.
So did the planks not have to be nailed down or glued?
Hi Kevin! The planks interlock...no glue or nails needed. This playlist can help: ruclips.net/p/PLr_OdHi7DghJMwKl8srKtTwHrDUBDL7qA
questioning, what is a threshold?
Hi! A threshold is the space at the bottom of a doorway that creates the entrance to a room.

Use a vinyl cutter. Rent from home depot.. way easier
"wood" is suppose to go with the direction of light
Great thing about DIY is that you can install it however you want. Thanks for the tip 😀.
This looks really hard
If you take your time, you can do it!
May I ask, how much did this cost you in total?
@9:25 it was around $880 for everything.
only easy because it is a perfectly squaRE ROOM
Even square ⬜⬛ rooms have their challenges.
I MESSED UP. I didn’t know it was going to be this EXPENSIVE. I’m only 19 and I’m the only one in my house fixing my own room.
