I was so unhappy with my floors because 10 doorways unfinished.
Some planks have separated. I got tips on how to fix that.
You both are such a great team! Me and my deceased husband worked together doing home remodeling and flipping houses for 30 years. He passed away on Christmas Day 2015.
It's been rough in more ways than one.
Trying to raise our great grandson and keeping up with 1600sf home hasn't been easy.

Hi Jaimie! It's hard for us to tell because we are filming at the same time that takes up time. 😆 This is probably a weekend project if you have all the materials you need. It took us about 4 days.

Is it best to go the opposite or same directions with the Smartcore while laying the vinyl planks? Meaning the taped seams in the same direction as the planks. Hoping I’m making sense. I have it out but not taped, that’s tomorrow’s chore with the planks.

I would like to ask if the floor has a bounce? I saw when you installing it that it was moving up and down when you added pressure, so I wonder, when you walk on it if it does move/ bounce.
It's a floating floor, but (no) it doesn't have a bounce. Once you lay it all down, it settles nicely on the ground. The underlayment really helps the flooring. Hope this helps!!! -DIYPC 😃✨

Interlocking vinyl planks are considered a floating floor that need a little gap to breathe...expand and contract during weather changes.
Super helpful! Thanks! Quick question - I am trying to install vinyl throughout my house. When I tried to install the second row, the plank start lifting up a little from the longer side....any idea why?
Sometimes we placed the box of planks or a set of weights on top to keep the new rows in place. This may help you as well. Please let us know if it works for you! Best, -DIYPC 😃✨

In our opinion, yes. There are a lot of benefits. Take a look at our other underlayment video.

Can you explain the expansion joints? After you lay the flooring, what do you use to cover up the gap between the floor and baseboard?
We use quarter round trim to cover the gaps otherwise you would have to remove all of the baseboards and cut your flooring up to the wall. Then you would have to place all of your baseboards on top of the flooring. It is more work to remove the baseboards.
Just use your oscillating tool to cut the notches way easier

I started my wash room which is not big at all the area is about 9 x8 feet. I am exhausted. I only used a box and a half. I am stuck on the door area trying to cut around the door BUT I watched your video and tomorrow I will be at Lowes when they open to get the oscillating tool. My back hurt my knees are sore I am tired.
Tamika, the oscillating tool will make it much easier for you to put the tiles under the door. Keep going...push through... visualize the end. We are cheering 📣🐯 you on! You CAN DIY TOO! Do that thang! Let us know how it turns out. -DIYPC 😃✨
Great video. Use a real hammer, not the rubber mallet!!! My project went from frustration of the constantly moving planks, to one-and-done.

Some have said that using underlayment voids the flooring warranty if it already has padding included??
You're correct. Some padded plank manufacturers recommend an underlayment for a moisture barrier in between. It's best to check with the specific manufacturer to be sure.

Not if you use quarter round trim, which is what we use. For us, it make things easier. -DIYPC 😃✨

Hey there, great thing about this project is that you don't have to remove the baseboards. We only emoved and replaced the quarter round. You CAN remove the baseboards if you want a seamless look on your flooring. Hope this helps! -DIYPC 😃✨

Everything can be fixed. Take your time. Send questions if you need to.
Use a vinyl cutter. Rent from home depot.. way easier
