"Wow" Annette your hair turned out beautiful . "Yes" some times a occasional 🍷 wine cooler when detangling your hair is wonderful relaxer . Thanks for Sharing.
FINALLY a video that proclaims the hair is matted and it actually "Is" matted.I got so tired of girls claiming there hair was tangled but could glide their fingers through it as soon as conditioner hit it lol.My hair is JUST like yours!
So after ignoring my hair for 2 weeks, I figured I had to do something with it today. Tried detangling and I gave up. Hopped in the shower and washed it while it was still matted. I then proceeded to painfully divide it in sections, apply deep conditioner and wrap it in a plastic bag. Decided to deep condition for 4 HOURS because only Jesus could detangle it in an hour. After the 4 hours, I rinsed out the deep conditioner and then moisturized with shea butter. I wanted to put my hair in plaits and stretch it out but I've spent so many hours on it already. I've just tied my scarf and I'm laying here thinking about how my hair will be tangled again in the morning. I just want to be bald at this point.
Oh no so I think washing it probably made it worse. I think you will have no other choice but to finger detangle in small sections. If you can get your hands on some argan oil..even better but coconut oil works just as fine. I would finger detangle in small sections using a mixture of warm water and a conditioner with great slip. Follow up with a oil to further detangle. But trust the longest it took me to detangle was a few weeks. I KNOW!! My hair was severely matted around the crown of my head. I just keep working on that section though and with the help of a stylist I got the tangles all out.
I've been ignoring mine for.....umm...6 months. No lie - I have to pray before each time I detangle. I should be bald already but God has had mercy on me because He knows I'm not married yet :)
Bolanle Adisa I'm laughing and holding back the tears at the same time. 😂🤣😭 I haven't touched my natural hair in a month. Now it is tangled, matted, and dry. I am so afraid to touch it, because I know I will loose a lot, and it will take all day. 😲 Yes, I feel like cutting it off! UGH!
OOH LORD JESUS!!!! I thought I seen thick hair, but yours king of the mountain. I am gonna subscribe just to follow and see your regime.....Jesus take the wheel
This is my hair all the way. I talk to my hair like she's a person. I plead with her to act right, fuss at her about her not acting right. But all in all I love my hair!
I dod the first 2 things you mentioned, but the "love" part I'm working on. My hair is like an unfaithful lover. I used to love him DOWN and gave everything to him until I had nothing left and STILL --- he wouldn't do right!! So now I deal with "his" ass for the sake of the kids when we make the custody exchange every 2 wks.
@@itsn0tjaila891 having that much hair could never be a curse!!!! She has the thickest hair I've ever seen!! I'd kindly take that curse off her hands lol
I understand the struggle, watch my video on the products I use. My hair is extremely difficult to handle. I get physically tired detangling. I think I'm a 4 D/E hair type, especially when it goes dry after shampooing. Stress!!! Any information on detangling helps.
Was in the bathroom detangling my 4b-z multi textured hair, managed to get almost all of it in twists 😫😫 except this 1 part just below my crown where it's the hardest, driest, kinkiest and probably shortest because it's always getting snipped for being way too dramatic 😂 Anyways, my arms hurt so I thought I'd look for some inspiration and bam! If you can manage that volume....I'm playing. I'm going back in😤😤😤
@Uni Glor I know your post is old but I just came across it and you have me hollering!!! I too have dry, 4C...D thru triple Z hair. I have been natural for 10 years and it has definitely been a challenge but I'm grateful there are much better products out there now. You just have to find what works best for your hair. BTW, this is an excellent video!!! Moisture and oil are the keys to doing anything to our hair type as well as using fingers (no combs), and very low manipulation which contributes to breakage. Try to find protective styles that last 2-3 weeks or longer.❤❤😍😍
I haven't done ANYTHING to my hair in MONTHS and it was in such an awful, matted condition. Sort of gave up because I knew how much work it'd be to fix myself, but also didn't know where to begin, since washing seemed it make it worse (like you said). Followed the video instructions using Aunt Jackie's Detangler and that worked wonders. Took me 3 hours, but I'm pretty inexperienced and again, MONTHS. So thank you for this video. Helped me a lot.
You and me too, Baby! I've got my own troubles over here. I'm 3c/4a, but it's SUPER dense and curly and will mat up if I let it - mostly at the tips, not at the roots, because 3 days do not pass without my hair being under the shower getting wet, elongated, moisturized, detangled and followed up with "plenty products." I'm not EVEN giving these roots a chance!
LOL! I was laughing for real at that part! I feel her pain. I say it every time I gotta wash my hair or my daughter's hair. Both of our hair is mid back length, thick and curly. 😂
Thank goodness, I found someone with similar hair texture on RUclips! And you do something very similar to wait I do when I detangle my dry hair. I be trying to tell my friends that I can only keep my hair untwisted for so long (about 2 days) before it start matting and shriveling up and they don't believe it. Subscribed girl!
like the other commenters I thought I had thick unruly hair until I saw yours, though I need to keep mines in twists or bun otherwise it gets knotted very easily, and yes, my comb is my best friend. tfs😀😀😀
I lierally dont need this but but its so satisfying. I be binge watching a whole bunch of detangling hair videos. Like my hair is fine but props to yall girls who need to go through this!!
I don't personally have this hair type at all. I just clicked the video out of curiosity on how other people do their hair. She said this was gonna take about an HOUR. I was done lol. I'm a 3b-3c, and I thought doing my hair was annoying. No hunty. I detangle in like ten minutes.
Omg Ten minutes!??!!😵😱I have 4c hair and it literally takes like hours for me to get my hair detangled and I'm extremely tender headed and I HAVE to put like olive oil and tons of and nearly a whole damn bottle of conditioner to make it at least more manageable to comb out and do what I need to do.Fudging madness sometimes,But it's a beauty lol.
***** Sorry I can't tell if your talking to me or the other,But I hope it didnt seem like I was putting out as if doing 4c hair is boorish or annoying,If that's what u got from my comment that isn't what I ment,It was really just to say it's a lot of working out and high maintenance and time to style and detangle but that's just for me personally but like I said it is a beautiful texture . Just wanted to make sure that you dont perceive my comment as dreading or hating on 4c hair just in case you were replying to me ya know😆
Victory Ismine I personally don't really enjoy doing my hair. When I do makeup, I feel like I'm creating art. When I do my hair, it just feels like one of those tasks I have to do like showering or doing laundry. I think it's great that you can enjoy it. I wish I could say that I felt the same, but I personally definitely don't, and my hair doesn't even take very long to style.
***** It's not annoying,And I didn't say anything negative about 4c hair.I have 4c hair so itd be retarded and dumb of me to hate or be negative towards my own features .Again it's a beautiful and unique hair texture it just takes time to do.I was personally describing my own process of doing my hair and how long it takes doing my hair.It isn't annoying and It isnt boorish. Its beautiful process and takes patience but it's a lovely texture and again Like I said in my original comment It's a beauty ya know?..Really isn't negative but if you got anything negative from what I said then I'm sorry you got that,It wasn't my intent or meaning of my comment.Peace.💛✌😆
+Victory Ismine it actually is annoying because it's time consuming and some people just don't have the time. stop being so defensive because it's true
I just detangled and styled my hair after 2 weeks of wash n go. My hair was so nappy and matted it took an hour with conditioner to comb through. It was rough!!! I lament my thick hair but you DEFINITELY got me beat. I can only imagine.
Girl!!!! You are my hair twin for real. I have 4a in the very back, but 4b & c throughout. lol, This mess I'm dealing with is no joke. I made the mistake of not twisting mine back up for 3 days and it took me that long to detangle this stuff. i love your fullness. it's so pretty.
I feel yah when your hair becomes matted. I'm over here right now on how I'm gonna remove the matted twist hair on my head? Make it so bad is that my hair is grey as well(born with grey hair). I'm really tired of my hair that I just wanna cut it all off n start over but I dnt wanna look like no man n I'm use to my length of hair. I just dnt know what to do with it? Not n2 hair at all but I came across your video n I'm happy I'm not the only person who demonstrates about their matted hair n finger detangle as well. Thanks for sharing!💕
Finally!! Someone with hair I can relate too! Looking at this video all I could do was say yesss thank you! This hair of mine makes my nerves tingle!! Lol. I am so glad I found you!!
I want to thank you so much for this. I just stumbled across your channel and so thankful I did. I have been natural for almost 4 years and you are the first person on RUclips to have hair exactly like mine I mean thickness and everything. I might cry I'm so excited!! You are God sent!!
I've been natural (4b/4c/4a, in that order) for over 20 years, been doing WNGs/wet-styling as my primary style for about 6 years, and have been wearing a tapered 'fro (with a lot of length on top, because shrinkage) for a little over a year. So you'd think I'd KNOW better but naw...I had another come-to-Jesus moment yesterday with my hair. Like, "My child, at this length you CANNOT wear a WNG for longer than 3 days before redoing it...and SPRITZING is not the same thing as REDOING." LOL...I had to put my detangler of choice (VO5 Free Me Freesia conditioner mixed with AVJ) on my hair and let it sit for about two hours before I even attempted to detangle. Happily all is well but it's like, "Go forth and sin no more..." :)
Hey sis!! You must really really love us to purposely allow all that beautiful hair to get matted, dry and tangled. Well, we love you for that as I'm sure it has helped many!! 💟
Thanks for this video! I have the exact hair texture and after a wash, it is super tangled. I can't wear a twist out no more than 2 days without major shrinkage and the, "starter dreads" look. But I love it! My best bet for styles are two strand bantu knots and twists. Thanks again!
I've jumped in the shower and washed my hair while it was tangled as heck ( haven't brushed in a week) and the tangled process was horrible. Basically I created a few dreads and broke some hair. so yeah I gonna detangle the hell out of my hair before I wash it.
Very informative. Thank you. I am not in the 4 range, however I did recently neglect my hair for about 3 weeks, and now it is very tangled. So thank you for showing me ways of detangling. I will do that.
Wow thanks to everyone for commenting!! I'm seeing alot of great suggestions also! This is one of many ways that I detangle but here is my weekly routine and how I prepoo: Detangle Routine: www.youtube.com/watch?v=YZYrO... Prepoo: www.youtube.com/watch?v=nNdsZ...
I'm going to ask you, and how I can stop my hair gotta locks when I was wash, and it's very hard how to comb through please tell me what I can do it thanks.
annettemint your hair is exactly like mine. mine is ask in the back and apl on the sides and my bangs are a little longer than chin length and omg... lawwwwwdy!! spray bottle, sections, coconut oil and conditioner are my saving grace every time along with strictly finger detangling. my hair just won't have combs. pssshhh
MissYellowCat me too. My hair got sooo tangled over a camping trip and I also have 2 big knots that are like little bird nests that are so tightly tangled it's impossible! And my hair is waist length
"you can't tell, cause it's a forest" hahaha, love it! the fingernails filing tip is awesome! I normally keep my nails long, but finger detangling does make that difficult. i'd recommend trying one way gloves. doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me :-) the end result looks amazing btw!! xx
You are the nicest person in the world!! You just seem very genuine!! Thanks for the tip. I tried ACV & water and my matted hair was gone!!! Bless you!
Finally someone with hair that looks like mines with my type of problems. Sheesh. I don't even know where to start with this, but I'm definitely going to use some of your tips. Thank you.
Sister, I just love you-your personality shines like pure gold! You had me rolling😂! Thanks for the great detangling tips. You’ve got a new subscriber👍🏾.
I know everyone has told you this but, honey your hair is THICK. I've never seen such a full, healthy head of hair. Putting me to shame over here cause I though I had a forest 😂😂😂
I just love your delivery, lol! You're too funny...great personality! And your hair is absolutely beautiful...I'd kill for thickness like that. Great video!
Girl, you got me when you said pour you a glass of wine, lol! I immediately hit subscribe! I feel the same way when I detangle. Although the struggle is real, we'll get thru this. Cheers,🍷to a fellow wine drinker.
Your hair is thick and beautiful, you definitely doing something right. I understand your challenge and your hair looked like it was a 4a or definitely B. Amazing video
your hair is absolutely gorgeous!!! I love it but the power to you girl....after detangling three sections I'm already tired but I appreciate you sharing this ^^
I friggin love how thick and full your hair is, omg... 4c hair is the best hair no matter what... When it comes to that full thick beautiful mane, 4c all day... 👏👏👏👏
i started finger detangling with warm water and a conditionig mix after ive steamed my hair amd it works great! i have 4b in the back of my head and the right front. the rest is all 4c so i feel your pain honey! Your hair looks so quenched! ugh thats what i need tips in. My hair stays dry.

I've grown dreads by accident too lolol
This is my daughter’s hair. She’s almost two and her hair is ttttthhhhhiiiiiccckkk. I’m going to use your method. Thanks for sharing.
I’m 41 seconds in and I am subscribing. Watching you is like watching myself on screen girl!
Good point regarding filing your nails before detangling. plus spraying with warm water. Great video!
This is one of many ways that I detangle but here is my weekly routine and how I prepoo:

You must go through a lot of conditioner !!! You really do have beautiful hair though !!! Lol
yes!! nearly a bottle every wash.
annettemint W
I'm going to ask you, and how I can stop my hair gotta locks when I was wash, and it's very hard how to comb through please tell me what I can do it thanks.
annettemint your hair is exactly like mine. mine is ask in the back and apl on the sides and my bangs are a little longer than chin length and omg... lawwwwwdy!! spray bottle, sections, coconut oil and conditioner are my saving grace every time along with strictly finger detangling. my hair just won't have combs. pssshhh
is it bad that i consider that detangled
MissYellowCat I do too. 😂😂😂😂
MissYellowCat me too. My hair got sooo tangled over a camping trip and I also have 2 big knots that are like little bird nests that are so tightly tangled it's impossible! And my hair is waist length
Ashley Dailey Mind sharing what you did? Unfortunately I have this exact issue at the moment.
"you can't tell, cause it's a forest" hahaha, love it! the fingernails filing tip is awesome! I normally keep my nails long, but finger detangling does make that difficult. i'd recommend trying one way gloves. doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me :-)
the end result looks amazing btw!! xx
