To all you haters let me say this dude kinda inspired me. I'm 42 and bout his size. I've been wanting to get a bmx bike to start riding to lose some weight. Not to do any tricks or ride ramps or even jump. Just to ride and to get a little bit of exercise. And this dude just proved to me that a bmx bike will hold my fat ass and not bend, break or bust. So I'm gonna order one. Thanks to this dude. Thanks man for posting this and saving me from having to ride a beach cruiser or moutain bike. If your still around can you tell me the best bike for a cheap price that will hold a fat dude. Just to ride. No tricks. Thanks for any input you can shoot my way. Have fun with this one haters. I'm out...

Being 50 is not the amazing part here. It's that he can still do those tricks even though he's that overweight. Just imagine how good he'd be if he lost 40 lbs.
give the guy credit , remember if u cant say nice dont say it . i give him credit , im 44 and 200 lbs and also not trying to get hurt as he is not . im getting back into light freestyle in the spring
***** I raced against Ruffle. I was factory Hutch 82-85 rode with Tim Judge, Gregg Grubbs, Erip Rupe back in the day. Rupe was hands down the fastest guy out there. Him and Anthony Sewell were the 2 to beat.
This comment is 6yrs old so that makes you roughly 46 now. I just turned 45 and still have my original Redline that I still ride too. I love seeing people get back and ride again old school style. Hope you stuck with it!

Heard this guy just passed away a few weeks ago,saw a post from Eddie Fiola. Saw a few freestyle legends say RIP so at one point he must of been the real deal. RIP to a freestyle brother
I have known Bobby for 27 years. He looked like a model and was skinny when I met him. When any of you guys turn 50 years old your body's will probably change too. When you judge you will be judged! I am proud of him for still doing what he wants to do with his bmx life. And yes, he has also done acting and stunts in movies and still does. I love you honey, your wife, Stacy. xo
+Bobby Gee hahahaha. I was just thinking about how strong that bike is to withstand his torture, you totally nailed it :) hahahaha. awesome (btw, that's what he means Salim)
I am so sorry for your loss. We have shared many great times and memories together. I have lost so many friends and family it is really sad. All of my love and respect to you and the family.
Oh no....it's such a shame that this video is getting such negative comments. :( I'm 39, and already feeling the punishment on my body that has amounted from BMXing since the mid 80's. Mainly hammered wrists and lower back pain from numerous years of riding anything and everything we could back in the 80's / 90's etc. I totally respect the riding that's going on today, but for anyone leaving negative comments on this video, please remember that when we were sussing out these tricks that you are all nailing today, we had no foam pits or perfect skateparks. Everything that is BMX as you know it these days was do or die....and mainly die! People like this guy featured in the video have hammered themselves countless times to keep the whole BMX thing going through the bleak 90's, when BMX was officially DEAD. Nobody was riding 20" anymore....but people like this WERE....(thank you!) which has resulted with your generation picking up from where WE left off and progressing it even further. You now have the luxury of perfectly designed skateparks with foam pits to dial every move before you take it "live", so please respect the veterans like this within our scene, as one day there will be another 14 year old pulling stuff you could only imagine, and you will feel the same as i do now..
Great stuff man I was there on bmx 1980 1986 amazing time and am 53 now but I still have a haro which I bought for my daughter she is 19 now but have kept it to remind me of my years ! Great!
I like how every time he starts a new trick he has to get off the bike adjust the bike into the position he wants it then he performs the trick. Hahaha what a joke legend my ass.
I don't know whether to laugh or cry. Dude, you would do MUCH better tricks if you lost about 100 pounds. You do have the potential. Frankly, I am surprised that pedal and those pegs held your weight.
***** I can class surviving some pretty horrific physical abuse and getting out alive as an accomplishment...wish I could say the same for my little brother.
I'm 47. I have a 1996 Mongoose, a 1996 Diamond back freestyle and I just bought a 1984 Diamond back Formula one frame and forks that I'm building up Good on ya mate, you're doing well.
Tyler Bondurant The age doesn't matter as much...but look at that fucking pig riding! If anything this is good advertising for that crankset and wheels...they are durable indeed!
So many people hating on this guy. Hes just having fun on his bike, and hes probably 10x more original of a rider than any of you kids in this comment section.
"Yeah i made that trick, my friend Jimmy Nickles and Billy Wong and i made up that trick... hey you do it, i cant get it right now.." man, i totally support you going out and doing your best, i try no t to hate as much as possible but its just not cool to lie man
I really dont know if im being trolled in this video or not...he seems pretty serious about what hes saying, but the fact he said there is a chance of him breaking his neck...well he has no neck to break...
The hell with the haters me and my lady are 43 and 45 yrs young, we picked back up bmx and have quite a few bikes we have no time or room for hate. Keep the dream alive

Thing is half the new generation of kids can't even do this, they just sitting on the couch. I do have respect but this guy is kind of acting like Steven seagal don't you think? LOL you invented the tailwhip. Yeah and Steven seagal invented aikido
I bet not a single one of you who are calling him shit will still be riding when your his age. So what his tricks can't compare with what's being done today maybe he's not even that good by the standards of the seventies but at least he is still doing what he loves and that's all that should matter. I suck on a bike but that doesn't stop me. And I hope I'll still be able to ride when I'm his age.
FYI : Joe Johnson is recognized as the originator of the tail-whip. Proof: xgames.espn.go.com/xgames/action/bmx/article/5842919/the-birth-tailwhip-air I too spent my early teens racing in BMX tournaments and even worked for a entertainment company called Eastern Onion performing radical bmx tricks at business parties. I applaud this guy for attempting to ride and more importantly take care of his health. However, I had many BMX idols in my youth, so I am somewhat familiar with the progenitors of these tricks. Although, this guy deserves credit for trying. he ruins deserved praise with grandiose claims. Furthermore, he admits to living off his wife while he spend his days playing with his bike. He appears to be a novice and would still be better than he is, if his claims were anywhere near the truth. Additionally, I am about the same age as this guy and have recently restored an old Diamond Back which is identical to the one I had in my youth. So yeah, I have ridden lately and you have heard the axiom about riding bikes....you also don't forget how to do the tricks either. this knowledge of balance is stored in ones interneurons So I doubt that his reality is anywhere near what what he claims in this video.
Tony Stewart no need to be rude, mr stewart...... we're conversing and you bring my brother into it. wally von wazzock was his old name. Dude, it doesn't matter who invented it- he may actually think he did. Also he may be taking a break and not actually living of his wife. ton, if your such an expert. can you do a 720 front flip inverted double whammy skid? what about the bmxternator followed by a front wheeled wheelie whilst standing on the seat with a cigar in one hand and a vorncob in the other?
sorry about the cursing but HELL YEA Bro... keep rollin man, do what you love and people will love ya for it. because they see that your happy doin what you do. RESPECT DUDE !...
you are going nearly 200 mph and any crash that happens could lead to possible death, yes bmx is dangerous, but nascar is way worse, now go play with your toys kid.
Honestly I thought this guy in the video was pretty funny. It's great that he seems to have a lot of heart & dedication here but at the same time he seems to be trying too hard to identify with something and it makes him come across as someone that he's not. In other words, it looks like he's full of B.S. I'm 45 years old and have been riding bikes in one form or another all my life. I was really into BMX freestyle - like 25 years ago - and could do all of these tricks and more. I was an above average rider but didn't consider myself to be very good. The guys that were the originators and really good were well known innovators like Eddie Fiola, Mike Dominguez, R.L Osborn, Bob Haro, Dennis McCoy, Martin Aparijo, just to name a few. It's been 20+ years since I've ridden a 20" bike in any real capacity but I'm pretty confident that I could hop on one right now and successfully pull off all of the tricks this guy is doing and then some.
so what's your point. don't talk about it, be about it. get on a freestyle bike and post a video let's see if u can do it. I don't understand why u would even comment on this the way u did. it's good to see a older guy not to mention a big dude still doing it. the only problem I had is he said he invented the tail whip but I'm certainly not gonna talk shit to the dude. 40 something years old and your still measuring dick lol let's see u pull of some tricks dude
Dude...you forgot to mention Matt Hoffman and "Flyin Brian" Scura! I met Eddie Fiola and Martin Aparijo in 1986 when they were riding for GT Brittania at Expo 86 in Vancouver, Canada. They were super cool and very gracious ambassadors for the sport of freestyle BMX.
Make fun of him all you want. Sure, his tricks might not be as crazy as the title says, but one thing is forsure, his heart and attitude are in the right place. I met him last year at the 2014 BMX Society Reunion and he is probably the coolest dude I've ever met. Really funny guy and over plain rad and I look forward to riding with him again this year at the next BMX Society Reunion show :)
Im 43 and have been riding since I was 14, raced downhill as well and Ive been sponsored throughout the years. I did my first back flip at 36. I still say I suck but few have the love for riding that I do after all these years. I guess in 6 more years. I can say Im an Icon, legend etc. Its odd because I have shared many decks with icons/legends and Ive never heard them make that claim. I thought this was inspiring till I got to that section
sorry your wrong i am 48 rode Bmx when i was 8 in 1974 riding a Schwinn sting-ray my first real BMX bike was original mongoose (1977) and DG in 1978 and went back too the team mongoose until 1982 supergoose 1982-1984) brielfy in 83 rode side hack with my supergoose with a gary little john side hack then Redline's and Hutch ( 1984-1985) until i was 19 and got in to freestyle in the mid riding my super my redline's and hutch's 80's BMX racing started in the early 70's in fact i sold my resto gt 87 pro performer about 3 years ago
Your a dumb ass cyc was making max bikes early 70s torker who by the way made the first haro master for a young Bob haro started in 74 or 75 bmx has been around for more then forty years If not how do I own a 1978 cyc storm and a 1979 torker both more then 40 years old dumb ass
its ok to make a mistake Chris it is hard to really believe they have been around that long one of the brands i forgot to mention was i had a Suzuki Bmx thing was a tank traded that for my team mongoose i raced and my neighbor had the Yamaha bmx bike with the full shocks
I am 51 and just got back to the rad bmx scene alittle. I used to race NPSA. I was good in the 80s. I won many races. Great at standard track jumps. Now being 51 it sure ain't easy anymore. I am riding a 24 inch frame now. I need to step back to 20 inch. They say alot easier to conquer than 24. GOD BLESS ANYONE WHO JUMPS BACK ON OVER 50.
imagine what he could do if lost some weight! he might actually be able to ride the bike then.. so hes 50 with no real job, 350lbs and claims to of invented the tailwhip? i mean not burst any bubbles but something is way wrong here.
The fact that the guy is 50 , out of shape and is still doing what he wants despite the crap the "little kids in the playground" give him is the cool thing about this story. I too, am older than dirt, but I ride around a 24" BMX cruiser despite the funny looks from young anorexic looking hipster douchebags on their multi-colored fixies. At my age, I don't even attempt or remember any tricks. I just love riding a good ole BMX around town. I give this guy credit. I highly doubt that most of you S _ _t talkers will be doing tricks when you are eligible for AARP. As for my advice to the guy in the vid... keep on doing what your doing, stay away from trendy modern day "fu fu" drinks like coco water and re hydrate yourself with a beer after you're done riding your bike!!! Screw this soft millennial crap!!!... We're from the 80's bro!!! Eat, Drink and S _ _T the way you like and be merry!!! You and I may check out earlier for health reasons, but we'll check out with smiles on our faces knowing that we're leaving a messed up world for the surviving douchebags to live in!!! HELL YEAH!!! :oD
ZootSuitWolf how can u ride around a 24" it either is or isnt 24". also despite this guy being 50 what he is doing isnt crazy. plus its bullshit that he invented the tailwhip, the other kid riding did a footjam tailwhip whichis a different thing. a rider with 45 years experience would know this.
Chris Hatfield Films Well, if my S.E. So Cal Flyer "24" doesn't have a 24 inch rim then I guess S.E. bikes ripped me off, the tape measure I used to measure the rim is wrong, the 24 inch tires I bought for the thing are not 24 inches, or it is an optical illusion that my bike is a bit bigger than the 20 inch bike of my nephews. If you are asking how a 46 year old 5'8 guy like me rides a 24" bmx cruiser, Its quite an amazing process, so here is how I do it in 4 easy steps: 1) Adjust the seat post and handlebars to proper height. 2) Balance myself as I push off. 3) Continue balancing while pedaling. 4) Turn handle bar the desired direction I want the bike to go while pulling on brake lever if I desire to slow down. I hope this solves your fascination as to how I can ride a 24" BMX cruiser!!! If you're interested, Stay tuned, as I explain to you how I'm able to drive a 1992 Toyota Camry!!! :oD ------------------------------ As for what he is doing crazy? I agree that it isn't crazy, but I give the guy props getting out there and doing what he wants at an age where society thinks he shouldn't be doing it. I don't defend his claims that he invented the tail-whip and agree that it is bullshit. So there you have it!!! I hope all your questions were address in my reply.
Joe Johnson invented the tail whip dude.. that was back in the 80’s... I have to give you credit for doing what you do though at 50. I’m going back into the sport myself next season and I’m 48. I raced from 1981 - 1984. I rode a Diamondback Silver Streak.

this guy deserves all my respect.

I really dont know if im being trolled in this video or not...he seems pretty serious about what hes saying, but the fact he said there is a chance of him breaking his neck...well he has no neck to break...
I'm more impress of the fact that the bike didn't break due to having a walrus being on it.
I'm 43, was a freestyler in the 80's. I was thinking of getting a Haro again, im glad I saw this video...I'm gonna stick with surfcasting.

@@efrainserrano7219 riding a bike a 5, bunny hopping, tail whipping, wheelies, the same year.. extremely possible
Great dude. Bmx never will die. I´m 43 years old and i bought a new to ride again.
"I've been called a lot of things, a pioneer, a legend, an icon..." 😂😂😂😂😂
This was a joke? That guy did not invent the tail-whip! I live in Midwest and my friends and I performed that trick in 82-85.
He said back in the 80's, that could be anywhere between 80 or 89. He might as well made it, but wheres the proof?
FYI : Joe Johnson is recognized as the originator of the tail-whip.
Proof:
xgames.espn.go.com/xgames/action/bmx/article/5842919/the-birth-tailwhip-air
I too spent my early teens racing in BMX tournaments and even worked for a entertainment company called Eastern Onion performing radical bmx tricks at business parties.
So yeah, I have ridden lately and you have heard the axiom about riding bikes....you also don't forget how to do the tricks either. this knowledge of balance is stored in ones interneurons
So I doubt that his reality is anywhere near what what he claims in this video.
Tony Stewart
actually your wrong. it was my friend jim's grandad was went by the name kriten wussletoff
Sure it wasn't Wally Von Wazzock?
Tony Stewart
no need to be rude, mr stewart...... we're conversing and you bring my brother into it. wally von wazzock was his old name.
Somethings telling me he did this in his teens and got like 40 years old and fat and tried to do it agian
Yeah yeah i invented the bunny hop
Tailwhip
Fist bump
Zumba
Forks
Plates
The EU
Cats
he probably founded mc donalds too
I See Tenzins Everywhere Lol
And the internal combustion engine.
Next thing you know he'll say that he invented the world. Bitch, please.
sorry about the cursing but HELL YEA Bro... keep rollin man, do what you love and people will love ya for it. because they see that your happy doin what you do. RESPECT DUDE !...
i couldn't watch so i just read the comments, i'm just reminding you all that this video still exists, lmao
0:26 I’m wondering what psi he’s riding
the bike be like "just shoot me now"
"...it's like NASCAR..."
Right...
The most amazing part was when he said he had a wife 😂😂
Dude, I'm the same age and that we were doing that same trick...no one made it up...we just did it.... Kudos that you're still riding & stunting!
OH YEAH I MADE UP THAT TRICK I JUST CANT REALLY DO IT RIGHT NOW, lol sounds like bullshit.
Ashnno it's not even a tailwhip though, it's a footjam tailwhip there totally different...
It's like nascar? Are you sure, cause last time I check, nascar is way less dangerous than riding a bmx
are fucking kidding me?
you are going nearly 200 mph and any crash that happens could lead to possible death, yes bmx is dangerous, but nascar is way worse, now go play with your toys kid.
bk578 nascar is just going around in circles. most crashes happen because the driver gets bored.
i see but have you drove a car at 200 mph? if you have enlighten me about how easy it is? or so you think it is?
Your balls sweat a little, but other than that...
i was expecting 180 and all that not him leaning on a bike
It's your life Boby Brown! Happy to get the chance to know u thru this vids. Inspiring.
This video should be called, "middle aged man owns bike."
awesome!
+The Adventure Biker he sucks thats that
Micah Cowherd
Let's see you do that in 30+ years, dopey.
RIP Dave Mirra
ok i will smart one
what do you expect, all people have to get old, tony hawk is 46 years old and he still is doing stunts.
tony hawk is 46.
Tony hawk is 46
Andre Larroque Ok so 46, my source was wrong :)
Jestem Mateusz but he's doing stuff that's in the now. this video should be called "crazy bmx'er does 50 year old bike tricks"
If he can keep up.........
Im 43 and have been riding since I was 14, raced downhill as well and Ive been sponsored throughout the years. I did my first back flip at
36. I still say I suck but few have the love for riding that I do after all these years. I guess in 6 more years. I can say Im an Icon, legend etc. Its odd because I have shared many decks with icons/legends and Ive never heard them make that claim. I thought this was inspiring till I got to that section
im sorry but bmx bike haven't been around for 45 years
sorry your wrong i am 48 rode Bmx when i was 8 in 1974 riding a Schwinn sting-ray my first real BMX bike was original mongoose (1977) and DG in 1978 and went back too the team mongoose until 1982 supergoose 1982-1984) brielfy in 83 rode side hack with my supergoose with a gary little john side hack then Redline's and Hutch ( 1984-1985) until i was 19 and got in to freestyle in the mid riding my super my redline's and hutch's 80's BMX racing started in the early 70's in fact i sold my resto gt 87 pro performer about 3 years ago

Tailwhip
Matthew Toomey whiplash dumbass
am i the only one who feels bad for his tires??
This guy Bobby Brown was my BMX Shows Manager back 02'-08'... it was great riding with him :)
NOT!!! LOL HA HA HA HA DID YOU NOTICE THE LETTERS ARE FAT TO (Killed it)
Suprised the tires still hold
He definitely did not make up footjam tailwhips
For some reason I feel sorry for this guys.
Don't feel sorry for him dudes got it figured out.
GOD BLESS ANYONE WHO JUMPS BACK ON OVER 50.
look at the bike hes riding 😂😂 posing on a wall mart bike
all that shit he's doing I could probably do with no peddles n no bars..
imagine what he could do if lost some weight! he might actually be able to ride the bike then.. so hes 50 with no real job, 350lbs and claims to of invented the tailwhip? i mean not burst any bubbles but something is way wrong here.
Agree
RC Codes couldn't agree more!!!!!
+GodlikeviruzDGAF Whatever happened to Robbie Morales?
Brian Blyther invented the tailwhip and Joe Johnson invented the tailwhip air
There's 5 mins of my life I won't get back
Keep going man! Impressive riding for your age. Would be ace if more older people still rode bmx.
If you are asking how a 46 year old 5'8 guy like me rides a 24" bmx cruiser, Its quite an amazing process, so here is how I do it in 4 easy steps:
1) Adjust the seat post and handlebars to proper height.
:oD
------------------------------
As for what he is doing crazy? I agree that it isn't crazy, but I give the guy props getting out there and doing what he wants at an age where society thinks he shouldn't be doing it. I don't defend his claims that he invented the tail-whip and agree that it is bullshit. So there you have it!!! I hope all your questions were address in my reply.
Your dumb
Charles Hall ur mom's fat lol
think of that all by yourself huh? sad...
45 yrs and that's all he can do?
silly rider, tricks are for kids
no thy nt oi bt hey wot u on bwt
seeing that eddie fiola and martin are his age , then its not for kids . at least hes trying
aaronpiper92 Lol
Was it Eddie Fioal who said that back in day .
Joe Johnson invented the tail whip dude.. that was back in the 80’s... I have to give you credit for doing what you do though at 50. I’m going back into the sport myself next season and I’m 48. I raced from 1981 - 1984. I rode a Diamondback Silver Streak.
Brian blyther actually invented the tailwhip, joe johnson was the first to do it in the air!
If he is truly a legend, why does his channel only have 6 subscribers????
