Proceeded by " I'm as AS far beyond mutants as they are beyond you"😂 man he was ALWAYS my favorite. Mad how they played him in the movies after I waited 20+ years 😡
It's too bad the great John Colicos is no longer with us to reprise Apocalypse. It was his voice acting that made Apocalypse so iconic as one of the X-Men's greatest villains. I wonder if they'll have James Blendick voice Apocalypse since he did It in two episodes near the end of the series and does a good imitation of Colicos.
Here’s a thought I haven’t gotten out of my head since I first saw it when I was 11. - Bishop goes back in time and destroys Apocalypse’s virus. Apocalypse gets mad, grows to 100 feet tall, and kills every single one of them in a second as if it were nothing. - Cable then goes back in time to stop time-traveling Bishop from destroying the virus. Instead of destroying everything in flames in the same scenario, Cable relies Wolverine’s mutant power to create antibodies that can be used to make a cure. Apocalypse get mad, talks some smack, and flies away. “Time to go sulk and try to feel better by spending years devising an elaborate scheme for the sole purpose of mess with Archangel’s head” he no doubt was thinking to himself. Soooo… he decided not to kill all of the X-Men, because … the law of sudden and conveniently placed plot armor, I suppose (I can hear Ryan George’s voice here: “I’m gonna need you to get ALL the way off my back on this one” lol). What’s more… like, if he could just kill them all that easily… why wouldn’t he just, you know, have done that in the first place upon any of their encounters. That would be my first and only move. Like, if ever there were a villain that didn’t need to escape back to a secret lair to work on secret plans from a place in the shadows” it would be Apocalypse lol. Just me?
Hi @@r.heffner-hoe4983, it's the biggest threat NOW because Marvel went full in with The Message, but if you look back in the 90s there were other threats....there has always been other threats (Brood, N'garai, Phalanx, Apoc, Sinister, etc) but lately they are going heavy in the Human-Mutant fight havy handling the metaphor for The Message.
Im hoping for a slow burn , long game with the Apocalypse story arc. He is such a major plot point in the original and connected almost all the other villains together at one point or another in his plans. They should giv3 him the thanos treatment in the first season and begining of the 2nd season start showing that he was behind Bastion and Sinister all along .
Might not be a smart, but I think it would put up a good fight. I would definitely like to see I think juggernaut might hav have a chance of beating him both very hard to destroy
Juggernaut is just brute strength for hire. Apocalypse has the strength with a lot more to go with it and he plays the long game with long strategies that end up making a deeper better story all around.
@@danielmata610 you could say the same thing about Superman and Doomsday I think uncontrollable rage juggernaut has the advantage plus doomsday beat Darkside sadistic and intelligent as apocalypse so sometimes brutes can beat the more intelligent strategist in a physical brawl Plus that did happen and I think juggernaut would be fighting for the good guys for once basically It’s his planet too
I'm a huge Apocalypse fan but just because he was in the original series doesn't necessarily mean he'll make it to season 1 of 97. He'd be a great villain for Season 2, as we know Bastion and the whole E is for Exctinction storyline is what they're doing now (minus Cassandra Nova.) It wouldn't surprise me if we only saw Apocalypse in a teaser, end-credit style moment at the very closing of Season 1, if we see him at all.
This was such a great breakdown of Apocalypse in the original animated series. I have to be honest, I really thought Disney was going to screw the pooch on X-Men 97 but it has been absolutely spectacular!
More than likely, Apocalypse is watching all the events currently taking place and would make his debut soon enough & probably incorporate The X-cutioner's Song storyline among others doing so, it's just a thought btw, gotta wonder what happened to Fabian Cortez?
X-Men 97 originally intended Apocalypse to be something more than a mutant, as alluded in early episodes. Around that time, the comics started pushing the silly Egyptian backstory, and since they were dominant, the later series of the show fell in line-too poor effect. By the fourth season, Apocalypse was full on Egyptian backstory, but had to retain the better 'more-than-a-mutant' lineage they'd started with, so he remained utterly invincible, to his saving grace. Hopefully, that will continue with the cartoons and not end up like the film...everyone's...favourite >_>
Only 40 seconds into the video so far (clicked pause) so not sure if you'll mention it, too, but: Damn! I was always so frustrated at how overpowered Apocalypse was. it seemed like he could never really be stopped (and when he does desist, it was either contrived or just because he felt like backing off for no reason). Yes, I realize there was that one episode [spoilers] where charles x and all the psychics managed to "get him" but it sucks that there was no way anyone could physically even put a dent into him.
😮 ¦ 4:48 = Uh oh a little blooper. A little error there as it is "Cyclops" not Cable. This is very good in summarising the story of Apocalypse. I hope he returns in 97.
I can just feel the energy of Marvel and business sitting around waiting to ruin the X-Men like they've ruined everything else wanted to throw their agendas in it
STOP IT! The Xmen 97 has taken great stories and gave fans a "NUTSHELL" version of each of them. Inferno is the perfect example of this. Inferno was much more involved and could have taken multiple episodes. Xmen 97 gave fans maybe 10 minutes and a title. Hog Wash!

The likeness of his voice can be replicated if Marvel owns the likeness of his voice
No one can match John Colicos, he was the Apocalypse his voice acting was amazing.
A lot of things made apoc iconic.
That's a very good point. In the cartoons it was definitely the voice!

We haven't seen Apocalypse yet for 97 but it better be epic

In a comic book it’s revealed that Apocalypse is responsible for the Bronze Age Collapse.
