one, battery starts to overheat after a single hot lap. The architecture of the battery the various Teslas use is not conducive to rapid discharge and charge under race conditions, and it struggles with heating issues. Really any NMC battery, regardless of car brand has issues with it, but short of doing something like Hyundai with the 5N where they put insane amounts of ducting and cooling for the battery system, you're not going to be able to keep the battery temps stable on track. Even the 5N gets toasty after a couple laps at the Nurburgring, but it does manage to pull off 2 laps without derating, if you have the BMS in the right mode.
Most cars can’t complete more than a few laps without overheating something or fading brakes. Thankfully there’s a healthy aftermarket for the M3P offering larger rotors, additional cooling, etc so it can keep lapping.
