What made me like Spider-Man: Far From Home was when they showed the “Box of Scraps” guy, or to be more accurate, the guy that Obadiah Stane was screaming at because he couldn’t miniaturize Tony’s Arc reactor in order to power the Iron Monger suit. That part was just genius.
You did an excellent job delving into Mysterio's history, how the movie respects it, and why he's cool and important to Spider-Man. Though, I was a little disappointed by the lack of focus on the relationship and parallels between Peter Parker and Quentin Beck from a character perspective. As far as the comics go, both Peter and Quentin grew up with a deep love of fantasy, cinema and science-fiction; but where Uncle Ben nurtured and supported Peter's interests, Quentin had no one, which led him to resent others and completely lose himself in his hobbies. And in Far From Home in particular, Mysterio represents Peter's flaws from Homecoming cranked up to eleven: caring more about the limelight and "official status" of being an Avenger. As you mentioned, Mysterio is Peter's polar opposite in this story, since Peter's done a complete 180 from his motivations in Homecoming. If you haven't heard of it already, I think the first three issues of Webspinners: Tales of Spider-Man is one of the best Mysterio stories to date. I also appreciate you talking about how this series and character matters to you personally. Have a great day, dude.
Spider-man 3 (Homefront) Synopsis: After Months of torment from civilians calling Peter a murderer he gets his name cleared by Hell's Kitchen defense attorney Matt Murdock. While the pronounced dead Mysterio sets up a new scheme with B.A.R.F., but needs money to fund it, instead of robbing banks Mysterio chooses to ruin Matt Murdock's life at the same time. Mysterio masquerading as Spider-man kills Venessa Fisk newly wedded wife of Wilson Fisk AKA The Kingpin. With Fisk angry he is intervened by Mysterio (Quinten) via conjugal visit to convince Fisk he can kill Spider-man if Fisk funds Mysterio's project, Mysterio reminds Fisk that Matt Murdock (the man that put him in prison) is clearing Peter's name. While Mysterio fools Fisk Mac Gargan overhears their conversation from the next booth over and also convinces Fisk he can kill Spider-man too if he gets him out of prison, he even convinces Fisk to give him some goons if Mac kills Murdock, Page, and Nelson too. Fisk accepts, gets Mac out of prison, and Mac heads too the Tinkerer's workshop too threaten Tinkerer into getting him a suit. From here to the end Marvel can take the wheel, but I think THIS is the greatest way to introduce Daredevil and his characters while also making a great Spider-man film with UNSEEN Spider-man villains that deserve more screen time
Not bad a idea that sounds like good synopsis for the next movie,I hope Marvel does do something like this, they should hire you as a writter for the movie!
@@wafflemanofficial3130 Fisk is only funding Mysterio as that is all Mysterio wants from Fisk, Scorpion's getting a bounty type payment, some of Kingpin's goons, out of prison, a chitauri tech suit, and a chance to kill Spider-man...Balanced like all things should be am I right?
Ole Fish bowl head has always been one of my favorites too. Seeing him be portrayed so well was one of the best things about far from home, and certainly helped it become my favorite spider man film of all time. Some of my other favorites include Electro(with his spectacular spider man portrayal being my favorite), The Lizard, Rhino, Shocker, Kraven, Hobgoblin and Norman/Green Goblin(Willem Dafoes is easily the best version imo). God bless your father
Idk, Vulture had relatable motivations and a point, Doc Ock in the Raimi films was a very tragic very HUMAN antagonist, and Willem Dafoe absolutely chewed out every scene he had in Spider-Man and the fallout of their final battle continued to hang over Pete's life for years to come in the remainder of the trilogy. Those three have gotta tie for best on screen villains of Spidey, Jake was amazing in FFH but his character was really just a delusional crazy person. (although I guess that more so fits with the original motif of the comics where Peter's rogues where simply deranged human beings that tested his moral fortitude and his growing grasp on responsibility.)
I like mysterio cus he proves you don’t need a weoponized glider, robotic arms, or electric gauntlets to hurt spider man, he proves one bettter way to hurt someone is too hurt there faith, to break there hope, and too make them. See that they are not in control. This is well written in comics and in the movie. In comics mysterio breaks faith in the hero, in the movie, he breaks spider mans faith in humanity, in comics mysterio shatters all hope, in the movie, peter lost all hope cus beck outsmarted the world, in comics mysterio shows spider man he is not in control, in the movie, mysterio TAKES control from peter when he took Edith!
Im so torn between vulture or mysterio being my favorite villian, I can't decide! Also i am gonna cosplay as one of them, but i cant choose cause i don't know wich one is my favorite. I love them both
I'd love to see Crazy Spider-Man characters like Big Wheel Blue Streak and Rocket Racer in the MCU it'll be fun to see them in a future Spider-Man movie or even the sequel to the ps4 Spider-Man game for fun gameplay
the funny thing is i think big wheel could work in the mcu since its heavily technology based although obvivusly he wouldnt work as a main villain but i could see him being used in like an opening battle seqeunce of spidey chasing it down after robbing bank or something and taking it down and move on to hte mian story..kinda how myserio was gonna be treated in sam raimi 4 where he is taken out in the begining goes to jail and then the main plot begins
That is a great video and it is nice you did it in honor of your father. ^^ Mysterio is quite a cool villain and I do wonder how he'll be written in an upcoming Spider-Man sequel by Insomniac Games. Doc Ock has done great on the PS4 game, so look forward to be what other villains they'll try.
Ah HiTops just has a different opinion of it. I think the bottom line is that when it comes to outside Marvel Universe influence on Spider-Man, you’re either going to roll with it or you’re not. He wanted a film about a more independent Spider-Man that focuses more on the origins and Parker-centric aspects of the story. That’s fine. I don’t think his review and the points he made in it were fair, but it’s fair to dislike the movie.
agre he looks coll but thing i like is that he isnt like i will kill or torture you he does it but in a more brutal way maybe most brutal way possable giving somone illusions of things they fear or cannot handle can lead to more torture then any villain have ever done

Ah yeah this is real big brain time I agree that Mysterio is the best spiderman villian. Loved him ever since I got shattered dimensions for the ds and watched his episode of spectacular spiderman
Actually, since you didn't mention it, Bruce Campbell was stated to have been the same person throughout the three other movies. While it may not have been intentional, Sam Raimi did set up Bruce Campbell to be Mysterio throughout the entire series. Not sure if you knew that, but I wanted to put this out there for anyone who didn't know.
