Wow! The not being able to slow down when they were approaching the runway. He warned the ground mechanic about this and requested to ground the flight until the cargo door was secured.

Imagine how the people would have felt when the floor disappeared from the bottom of their feet. I am glad that no one was standing on that section. This tells that you should be careful even if you are in a fully safe flight or anywhere else.
@@wargodsix that was the best thing about the 737....it still uses cables and pulleys to connect the flight control surfaces to the cockpit levers.... Those planes can still be flown with total electronic failure.

McDonnell Douglas is to blame, not the airport. The cargo handler told the ground mechanic to stop the plane from taking off because he had trouble securing the cargo door.
It happened the same into a Turkish airlines DC-10 but the plane didn't recover because the hydraulics system fails and the plane couldn't Pull up and it dive a lot of feet per sec and 335 died because the DC-10's cargo door fail in the test before releasing the plane.

The door wasnt secured like it supposed to be glad everyone survive including the crew.
It was a design flaw with the securing mechanism. There were at least 2 other flights that experienced the same problem.
