The saddle thing, if I recall correctly, was because no one wanted to join in with Worf's vacation plans. Picard improvises a dumb thing about equestrian hobbies and then just paints himself into a corner keeping up the ruse, leading to him going back onto the Enterprise to get a saddle that he may or may not have had to replicate on the spot.
That episode that Picard saves the ship because he needed his saddle was the 1st appearance of tuvok, captain Janeway security officer from voyager, that was the marquis trying to steal from the Enterprise, and that was just one mission tuvok went on under cover prior to getting onto chicotays ship.
Time to be a nerd *pushes up glasses that I don't have* Ackshually although it was the same actor he was playing a different role, he has also played the role of a Klingon before. The character in question like most of the people who try to steal stuff off the Enterprise gets beaten up by Picard and is later disintergrated by the laser cleaning.
So yes. If your a horse back rider for sport, you have your own personal saddle. For hobby maybe not. But a good saddle is easier to sit on and is better for you in a long term. Buuuut. It find it sus to be on the starship. But I guess they could have horses else where and he would need the saddle.
The stick hoop game is an American thing…. Its a game that pioneer kids play and if your unlucky as a kid your parents make you volunteer to dress up as pioneer children and LARP in a historic pioneer town and you are forced to play stick hoop all day.
Love Tom and Ben Star Trek clips! I don't care for star trek but watching these two ramble on about it..! Sorta like how I don't care for Critical Role full episodes but love watching clips of it ;P
I have to say, if I hadn't started watching Star Trek with DS9, I never would have become a fan. It just does everything so much better than TNG, including Worf, and that's not even including the abysmal first 3 seasons of TNG. And I have ZERO idea how people manage to sit through a single TOS episode.
I started watching tng when I first saw that Tom had started, then I finished tng, ds9, and voyager a couple months later of massive bingeing. There’s some gold in those shows, mostly in tng and voyager.

no, it was because he was avoiding a meeting with an obnoxious captain best known for his small talk, and data copied him to learn social behavior.
@@aleuttrel2260 You just triggered a repressed memory of one of the most “Data” things ever
I have never watched a full episode of Star Trek in my life but 'Tom&Ben talk Star Trek' is my favourite thing
Talking about saddles is only one step away from talking about centaurs.
As both a Ben and Tom fan AND a massive Star Trek fan, I absolutely love when they meet.
You could say... Tom is back on the saddle

@@JDBD13 he was also in space balls, combing the desert. he was the black dude that said... We ain't found shit!! look it up my friend, lol
@@JDBD13 we like to believe he made it off the ship, and later ended up in voyager.

I really thought Ben was in on the joke when he asked about the saddle.
For those interested, the episode in question is S6E18 Starship Mine
Tom needs to watch DS9
Tom will see the light, one day. He _can-not deny,_ that Ben Sisko _exists!_
@@BimpytheWimpyShrimpy I don’t think you can get through the first seasons I don’t think he’s strong enough
Can't go wrong with the Stick 'N' 'oop, just ask John Bovril.

YES, YEEEEESSSS
That episode was the Star Trek: Die Hard rip off.
