Great video again mate. You are not wrong when it comes to each vehicle and country may differ with the app. In my 2020 Glc300 in Canada, there is a basic amount of information available. Indeed there is no store to purchase anything extra at all. Yes the live traffic and Ota updates are there (I bought new for three years it's all covered) but essentially nothing spectacular unfortunately, I was hoping for more. Just my experience of the app so far.
Ah interesting yes, it varies so much but at least this video should give most an inside look as to some of the things it can offer 🤓

So my question if and when you find time is this. I’ve found my booth on my CLA Shooting Brake (21 reg) open more than once which is not good. It must be that my key fob booth open/close button is being accidentally pressed on my body. If so it isa design fault. Like it should be slide or push operated. Yes if a key is pushed up against your Mercedes key in your pocket, then this could open the boot.
When it comes to key designs, I don’t think I’ve ever come across any key from any manufacturer that has a slide button for opening the boot (I could be wrong though).
If you’re doing it a lot, as you said potentially a cover for your key may help? Just a thought…
My 2019 C200 will not let me lock the car with the keys inside. Sometimes I wish it would, that way I can leave the keys inside when some one is coming to collect it but i'm not around and then unlock it when they call me to say they are there.
Hi Nick, my glc 300 doesn’t have memory buttons to store the seat settings. Is it possible to save the seat position settings in the mbux profile and Mercedes me app? Thanks again for the great tutorials.

Hi Nick. Can you answer a couple of questions please? My 2019 MB GLC pre MBUX build sheet says GLC 250 4matic offroader but there is no off road mode. Also 355 extended MBUX functions but no .hey mrecedes function. Any help greatly appreciated. David.
Hey David, I guess it just depends on the way it’s phrased on spec sheets. You can sometimes get some funny names on there mainly because the spec sheets are used for all the way round the world.
It also depends as well because some models will say offroader because they are classed as an SUV and technically speaking the GLC is an SUV.
There have been options previously to spec an off-road option to add an an under-guard under the car for added protection as well as an off-road mode and downhill speed regulation etc.
With extended MBUX functions, not sure what is as I haven’t heard of that before unless it relates to something Mercedes me related?

Hey Ammar, sadly not available in the UK (I’ve seen in I think USA, they can do this some states).
You can however do this in the UK if you have a plug-in hybrid or electric car as they have an auxiliary heater 🤓

Hey Amr, really sorry I wouldn’t know for other countries. Mercedes models vary massively round the world to the point where some don’t even offer Sat Nav at all which surprised me! It varies so much but the best thing to do is speak with your local Mercedes who may be able to help assist and point you in the right direction regarding internet etc
In the USA, Mercedes Me is no longer compatible with models 2019 or newer. The new app is Mercedes Me Connect. Not sure if that's the case in other countries.
Hopefully buying an Evito tourer this year 100kwh battery version 150kw motor.Can the me app schedule charging ? Or can this be done from the vehicle itself ? My point being, i'll probably just plug the evito in and want to start the charge right away, i won't want to be waiting for cheap tariffs or off peak times. My situation, i'm a taxi driver, i might be working then go home for a few hours, then back to work, then back a few hours later for maybe an hour and so on. Do i even need a smart charger ? I just want plug and charge. Thanks.
Hey Paul, really sorry I wouldn’t know on that one! I’ve only covered Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and the Vito / Evito is classed as a commercial van.
If it’s the same as Mercedes Passenger cars, the schedulers charging is done via the chargepoint not the car 🤓
Hi Nick, you mentioned add dash cam using Merced me store. Is enabling the dash cam a software upgrade or also require a dash cam ?
Hey jagjit, you have to have an option called Augmented Reality. It’s quite rare and unfortunately not available on all models.
If you head over to the Mercedes me store, if it’s available for your car it’ll show in there 🤓
Which feature or package does it allow to track speed? I used to have this for my 2020 c300 but the 2022 e450 cabriolet i can’t find it.
Haven’t seen a thing on Mercedes me to track speed. I’ve seen a thing called Speed Alert so you can be notified if someone goes over the speed limit you set.

No sadly MBUX isn’t just software, it’s a completely redesign of the multimedia systems in Mercedes. The only one like this is in the brand new ones that launched recently.
Hi Nick Thanks for another in depth video. I find the Mercedes Me App a real step forward and I use it everyday. A problem that I think has recently developed is the App is slow to update itself. For example, earlier today I got a notification that I had left the car unlocked on my front drive, I immediately asked the App to lock the car, which it did but then continued to show it as being unlocked. It continues to show the car as being unlocked and says it was last updated 45 minutes ago..I’ve tried calling up other services like Valet Protect in the hope this will trigger the App to update but with no success. Is there a reason for this please and anyway of forcing the App to update, particularly if you are away from the car? Thanks, Ken

If it’s not updated this can be due to network coverage, however just bare on mind it’ll usually only update from time to time. The one I have on my phone is 4 hours ago. The mileage bit on the home screen doesn’t necessarily update every time you open it.

Hey Alper Tasci, in the UK for Pre-Entry Climate Control it’s just Plug-in Hybrids & All-Electrics. Marco Polo’s and selected G-Class’s also had this too because they had a thing called Auxiliary Heating.
As usual, very interesting. Do you know what happened with the Digital Key - NFC feature for the w205 c-class? when I ordered my 2020 C43, it came with the NFC feature etc....(need of NFC sticker, etc...) when I asked to the dealer, they said it was still pending for implementation by Mercedes, but nobody know anything else since then.
Hey Edusaab, it is there although I have personally never used it as it requires very specific hardware to make use of it.
You need COMAND, the equipment for digital key in the car, wireless charging for smartphones and on top of this an NFC enabled Smartphone (iPhones are not compatible) with a Vodafone NFC SIM card.
Really sorry having not actually ever used this I wouldn’t know if it’s still in use today.
@@npoleary thanks!!, yep, when I ordered mine it had the command+NFC hardware on it (door handles, etc..), the only thing missing is the digital key sticker, it seems not available or possible to obtain.

Hey Bruce, I haven’t seen a dedicated iPad app or browser experience before, it’s just available on iOS on iPhones and Android phones via the Play Store.
Nick. On my E Class I have found that if I attempt to lock the boot with my keys within then the boot lid just springs open and will not lock

This has always happened for me, but I have heard of some people actually locking their keys in their car! I have no idea how? 😅 but yes if you have Keyless-Go you shouldn’t be able to lock the keys in the car.

How frequently do you have to access the app to ensure you are not asked to sign in? I was told 14 days but I last accessed it 5 days ago and today when I tried to start the engine remotely I was asked to sign in. A problem if I need a computer to receive the TAN code sent!
Every 90 days it may require a sign in (or an app update if it was a major one)
However I’m not sure if that’s the same elsewhere, that’s what it is in the UK

I just purchased a GLE450e and I'm having trouble setting up the app. My dealership activated it but it's not showing my car, it's just showing a covered vehicle. I tried going to the website, like you showed in the video but the website is different now, than when you did this video. When I go to the website now, I click on Login --> Mercedes Me, and it gives me a 404 error page. Do I have to call the dealership and ask them to do something, or is there a place on the app I can customize it to show my car and it's features? Thank you! The cover I’m pretty sure is normal, I had that for around about a week and then it magically came off 😅
If they’ve added the car I would just double check you’ve got your terms of use accepted and the digital extras are switched on.

just bought an E class and the car wont pair with my newly set up account. I have a feeling it is because the previous owner still ahs their own mercedes me account linked to it and the app won't allow two. To be honest that is very annoying although I am sure a trip to a dealership will sort it - I just wanted to do it myself. On a separate note Nick - do you think there is any point having MercedesMe without taking any of the chargable options? In other words is the basic free MercedesMe worth having? Can't see anywhere a list of what the basic free option includes.
Hey HextyVision, yes sadly most people forget to delete it off of their account when selling.
It’s easy to do though, you local dealership can help 🤓 only takes a few mins
Mercedes me should always be with the end user (the owner of the car) you don’t want the previous owner tracking or unlocking and locking etc
Most Mercedes me services are chargeable but still a good idea to get it on your account.
Great content and professionally put together, I think the tracker is a great feature, I was thinking about having a separate one fitted but why bother if the App can track the cars location.
Am I right in thinking the more higher end the model the more app features?

Sort of, but for example if you have a Plug-in Hybrid or All-Electric vehicle, you can turn the heating on remotely. Some extra gadgets are also reserved for the S-Class model too 🤓

It’s on my list of potential future videos so I may consider it in the future!
The main difference is
SOS = For emergency calls only (in the event of a crash or you need police, ambulance, fire etc)
Me Button = For breakdowns (non emergency)
The me button does do more but I’m gathering a complete list at the moment so hope to cover it soon!

My Mercedes me app was working fine until recently when it logged me off automatically from my phone. When I try to add my vehicle again , the app gives an error that this vehicle is already defined for another user and doesn’t let me add the car.. any idea what’s possibly wrong? Thanks

Hey Peter, sounds like you’ve created another account. Log out and log into your email or whatever you’ve used before.
Your car will still be linked unless you actually received an email to say it has been disconnected.

Hey John, sadly this is an extremely rare feature and to be honest isn’t used much on cars mainly because of the requirements to get it going.
Basically it allows you to use your phone to unlock / lock your car and even start it, which is really cool
But…
You need very specific equipment in the car for it to work and you also need an NFC- enabled and NFC SIM Card from Vodafone (iPhones are not compatible).
I’ve never used it before personally but the idea of it sounds cool!
@@npoleary ah I never knew that thanks for letting me know. I thought it would have worked with the New iOS 15 update that allows you to store car keys in your phone.

Just a thought, perhaps the reason why MB haven't got the remote start facility for its UK cars is that leaving the engine running on a public road without the driver is an offence in the UK, I think it's called 'Quitting'. I'm not fully au fair with current Road Traffic Laws, but it was an offence 15 years ago.
Hi Nick, when trying to register for the first time on the app, it asks for a photograph of my passport and then wants a picture of me. For some reason it doesn't take the picture of me. I can't blame them for not wanting a picture of me, however I need to get the registration completed. Any ideas
Hey Mohammed, that’s one way of registering through the Mercedes me call centre. Another easier way is if you get in touch with your local dealership, they can do it for you 🤓
Hi thought you have already done this in another video. How about doing a speed alert just in case it went in for service ETC. because I’m glad I set mine up. After my paintwork needing a correction. But the **** the took it from Dartford to Hayes in middx did in between 80-100 mph. I reported it and u guessed it the person is without a job. I don’t even drive my car at that speed. So it can come in handy especially for me that day.

My App has been setting up services now for nearly 6 months. It would be great to use with my new GLA.
You have to log in on the website and accept some T&Cs, and also select a mercedes dealership as your preferred service location. Then the services should activate.
Why the app, or anyone else, doesn't tell you that you need to do this I don't know...
Hey John, yes you’ll need to Accept the T’s & C’s and switch on the services but do just bear in mind that use of the Mercedes me app is not included with every car. You could always speak with Mercedes me directly or your local dealership and they’ll be able to advise help get you sorted 🤓
Hi. My partner has just taken ownership of her new C200 and she is set up as the main user with my email as her ID (she doesn't have her own email). No matter what I do the system won't add me as another user - we click on 'add user' on the car screen and it shows the QR code but that's as far as I can get. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong
Hey Colin, have you got your own Mercedes me account and are you signed in to the app?
Once you’ve done this you can scan the QR code and it’ll give you access 😎
Love the videos. Just picked up my EQA, trying to set up office but when I access Mercedes Me on my PC it doesnt give me the option to go into office to set it up, even though its ticked to use and i have it in the car

If you’re sure you’ve got it, it might be best to get in touch with Mercedes me Support as they will be able to pinpoint what it is.
On the app, press the Menu button, then tap help and then Contact Support.

Hi Nick, good video as usual, but I experience some problems with my MB Me, in that it erroneously advises me incorrectly that, for example, that my car is no longer parked on my drive, when I can see it from my lounge window, or that it is unlocked, when it is!! I have spoken directly to MB services about this, but the problem persists!! Any thoughts?

Hey Peter, I have seen this happen a couple of times before but that was because I was in an area with no signal.
Steps I would try would be to speak with Mercedes me Support (sounds like you may have done this already). After that I’d try booking in with your local Mercedes to see if they can diagnose anything on the car itself.

I have a question regarding the app. The screen you see is not really what I see on the app. I have created an account, paired with the vehicle and checked my identity. Still nothing, cannot activate the services (they are pending for days). Any clues?

@@npoleary talked to Mercedes Me support and they still didn't come back to me, however, I just removed and re-added the car to my account, in a few seconds the car was fully connected, services activated and I can control stuff from the phone. Just in case anyone else has this issue 👌

There can be loads of things to get Mercedes me going, adding a car, verification from a dealer, Terms of Use Acceptance and even services being switched on.

Really sorry I wouldn’t know! I only have access to cars here in the UK. You’ll have to speak to Mercedes where you live as it varies round the world. Some countries have Mercedes me and some don’t but you’ll have to ask them 🤓

Hey Yamen, all you need to do is just get in touch with your local Mercedes. You’ll just need to provide proof of ownership and they’ll be able to get it linked for you 🤓
It been 5 days since I bought my Mercedes GLC 300 2023 however 80% of my Mercedes me services still showing activation in progress . How long will it take ?
When I bought mine, my local Mercedes linked it for me and activated it straight away. It was active within a couple of hours.
I’d defo suggest giving Mercedes me support a shout from the app and they can check remotely. They’ve helped me in the past with something!
It’s under MENU, HELP, CONTACT SUPPORT

Hello nick, I have a gls 350d and have owned the car for 3 years. The cars live traffic subscription has expired and I have purchased a excellence package. I realised after 2 months that the live traffic wasn't working and that the navigation still said "live traffic subscription ended". I checked my Mercedes me and all my services were activated. I contacted Mercedes me and told me it was something that they can do over the air. The vehicle is connected to Internet etc. I was referred to my local dealer who would fix this issue.
I ended up being charged £192 to "update" my unit however when i collected my vehicle I still had the same issue. After many talks with Mercedes Me I managed to get a refund for the excellence package and was told to purchase it again. I have purchased it again, waiting 24hrs for it to self update but to no surprise I still have the same issue. It has been 3 weeks now. On my Mercedes me app it shows everything is activated but on Mercedes it still shows that my subscription is expired. What can you recommend I do ?
Hey ibz, I think the best thing would be to speak with your local Mercedes who looked at it previously. Something isn’t right somewhere and you’ve definitely done the right thing in contacting Mercedes me support first. Your local Mercedes should be able to continue the investigation and find out what is going on.

Hey Manish, sadly speed cameras aren’t available in most German cars as it’s illegal to have such systems in Germany where they’re made.

my car was previously setup and linked to my phone app. but recently there is a fault with my phone. and the app got disconnected. i reinstalled the app but i'm not able to link my phone app to the car now. app unable to link via registration number and the qr code doesn't appear in my car anymore. 😫😫
Hey xavier xy, that sounds like you’ve created a new account. Are you 100% sure you are using the email / mobile number you were using previously?
Most Mercedes me accounts are registered on an email but if you have created a new account with your mobile number, this would describe what you are experiencing.
Try logging out and logging in on your email / another email that it could be registered to.
Failing that, get in touch with your local Mercedes dealership and they’ll be able to help.
Can anyone help, I have had the app linked 3 days ago, but I don’t have the same menu that you or anyone else has, I just have a picture of my car no other options?
Hey Zubair, best thing to do is speak with Mercedes me support. You can do this via the app, MENU, HELP, then CONTACT SUPPORT.
It could be a number of things from:
Having your car verified by a Mercedes dealership
Having a valid subscription to Mercedes me services
Switch on the services
And also accept the Terms of Use on the account

Hey Tadas, it’s very complex area with that sadly! Believe it or not smartphones and smartwatches that use cellular have the same issue too. (Ones with built in SIM cards)
I went to buy an Apple Watch Cellular on holiday in America before and because of the different frequencies in which they operate, it wouldn’t work in the UK.
I don’t believe it’s possible sadly, the only people who know would be your local Mercedes, they’ll have to have a look and see if anything can be done.
Nick can you advise me, i have a sprinter with a MBUS system and previous map updates have always downloaded after a prompt from my mercedes me app. However I have the updates available note on my app but nothing showing on the mbus...System. settings . updates.. on app says it will download while driving I have just done 470 miles still not updated any ideas. Hey really sorry not seen a sprinter up close before, my local Mercedes only has passenger cars there so it may be different.
I do know map updates can take about a week to install from people commenting on my channel. This sounds like a lot but processors in cars run on low priority and aren’t as powerful as PC’s plus they’re not driven usually 24 hours a day.

@@npoleary that's great thanks. I only ask as I have an A class 20plate which has an Amber engine light appear last week. When speaking to Mercedes assist they say it's ok to drive until I can get it into my dealer which is over 2 weeks away based on it only being Amber. Then when googling for answers they are all a bit vague. I was hoping there was something within the MBUX that maybe has a diagnostic tool to tell you what the fault is?
Hey Kyle no sadly an EML (engine management light) means that something needs checking on the engine. This can be something as simple as the fuel filler cap open, to the battery is low to something more serious in the engine. Could even be a sensor or something but your local Mercedes will check it for you but no with that particular light, it means it needs checking by a workshop

Well actually it varies from model to model 🤓 I’ve noticed some are blue and some are red.
And funny you should mention that, last year I remember it changing to snow in the winter ❄️
Nick, how can I resolve the ‘connection lost’ issue with the Mercedes’ me app? Never seen it before.
It can be due to network coverage or if you’ve not got mobile data enabled for the app, this can affect it. Of course usual network coverage would play a part in it too
Also make sure you’re on the latest version on the App Store / Play Store 👍🏼

Hey Frankwhite, ah yes Mercedes me Digital Extras stay with the chassis of the car. I had that previously with my A 250 I had years ago. It’s nothing to do with the dealership as Mercedes dealerships don’t manage payments or anything regarding those types of things.
Now I wouldn’t know if anything has changed over the years but I’d suggest contacting Mercedes me support and see if anything can be done. They’re the ones who can help (if they can)

Hey Slawek, you’ll have to contact Mercedes on that one. Just ring your local showroom and they can help. Usually you’ll need to take in your V5 document and proof of ID 🤓

Hi Nick. I have Mercedes Me linked to the car an A200 Premium Plus and have updated the maps manually yesterday but I still only get TMC in the top right corner. I thought it would say live. I have extended the pack for another three years too although my car is still under warranty. Does it take time to activate or any ideas please.

Waited at least 24 hours from point of activation and driven the car at least once
If you’ve done all of the above, best thing to do is speak with Mercedes me Support. On the app press Home, then Help.
They should be to assist remotely 🤓

However…go extremely careful exporting a car, certain things may not work such as Sat Nav, Mercedes me services etc
Do double check before you do it!
It can be because of the different mobile networks round the world, unlike mobile phones, cars cannot roam on different networks. The one exception is Europe, but go careful elsewhere!

Hey John, as yes some models of Mercedes can do that. I recall seeing it on E-Class, S-Class and GLS. I guess it’s just a feature on those particular models or something

Hey Colin, have you spoken to Mercedes me Support? I’d recommend to chat to them first, then if they can’t help just reach out to your local Mercedes 🤓
Just bear in mind from what I’ve seen when reviewing cars and producing tutorials (this depends where you’re based round the world as specs vary): Mercedes me services are free for the first 3 years from the car’s Reg date, not all Mercedes transfer stuff to the car in that way, profiles are only a major part on some of Mercedes latest multimedia systems called MBUX NTG 6 and NTG 7.
Hi Nick, thanks for the reply, have raised a case with Mercedes this morning, also asked them to look into why the car is not picking up software updates either, so fingers crossed can get a resolution to this.
Mercedes have comeback saying the communication (Hermes) module in the car needs a reset, (as I was correct the car is not communicating), all booked in for the 14th August (long wait). So fingers crossed.

Oh you mean on the car? The Mercedes me icon is there to add a car (some cars allow you to do this)
I have seen when it’s linked it can disappear. Some models of Mercedes allow you to buy things from the Mercedes me store in the car using that icon.
.. just a small info.. you're wrong in one thing - Mercedes me app doesn't shout GPS location of your car - rather than location of your smartphone.. I've tried it..
My video is correct for the UK, I thoroughly do my research before turning the camera on and I had it verified with Mercedes too.
Just bear in mind, spec varies massively round the world, so some features might differ slightly and also if you are based in the UK, to get this you need a car compatible with Mercedes me and you need to be subscribed to a thing called the Remote Package.
This is why there will be two icons, blue one is the phone but the car one is the car.

Most Mercedes don’t allow you to do that…but some people still manage to!
I think it’ll be primarily on models without Keyless Entry of where that happens.
Models will Keyless Entry, it’s pretty difficult to do so!
These dates are Approx but from Summer 2018 to December 2020 production it was called Executive, Premium etc
And then from 2021 onwards it is now referred to as Executive Edition, Premium Edition etc

I picked my A Class 3 months ago and still awaiting the chip so the mercedes me can function and get the full functionality of the car. This is very poor as Mercedes-Benz just keep saying we'll contacts you when we have the chip to fit. I wasn't even told until two weeks before I was due to pick the new car up. Very poor customer service.
Robert, I understand your frustration. I ordered my A Class Saloon on 20 January 2021. I am still waiting. NHS contacted them today and they are saying it could be the next 2months. I have been informed that they are producing the expensive cars to make more profit. Some of us need our A Class just to be able to visit our patients but we have been caught up in this mess. I have to wait for a year.
I know the whole Semiconductor thing isn’t great however just bear in mind this isn’t Mercedes’s fault. Semiconductors are found in literally everything electronic in a car and inside of a car there can be 100-200 of them.
This is affecting everyone and every manufacturer on the planet (not just car manufacturers) mainly because most companies themselves don’t manufacture semiconductors.
I’d strongly recommend that you watch this video which will give you an insight on to what is going on. It’s well worth a watch as it doesn’t just affect cars, it also affects other electronic devices too.

It will email you and text you every time you use the app. It is MADDENING and there’s. NO WAY to turn it off. Mercedes’ is lacking so badly in technology. You should be able to turn Off mortification you don’t want. All reps say no way to turn off. HORRIBLE. Texts and emails pile up.
Only YOU can turn off your mortification. If notifications trigger you into being mortified, that’s on you! 😆😂🤣

Live Navigation is great! It has helped me get through traffic. Hey Mercedes works on some things but not every thing.
