Did you have to show your ID to use features like lock/unlock?
If you’ve bought from a Mercedes dealer they will link your account for you, but if you’ve bought elsewhere yes you’ll need to take in proof of ownership and ID to get it linked 🤓

Just got the Hermes system retrofit on my 2021 E200 (supply chain issue), it’s been over 3 days and still waiting for MB to activate the service from their end, called them several times now.

Hey Leandro, ah awesome that’s good you’ve got it now.
They may need to remove the car from the account and re-link it for the system to refresh the available services. As long as you’ve got the Terms of Use Accepted then you should be able to activate them.

If you’ve got an order, I’m sure your local Mercedes will be keeping you up to date with any relevant info.
Another way to send an address to the car is to:
1) Find the destination in Google Maps, then
2) Click the "share" icon in Google Maps
3) Select Mercedes Me, then "Send to car"
As an aside, this works the same for my BMW i3, selecting "My BMW" to send the destination
I think Mercedes disabled this from google? No longer works for me at least

Hi Nick, my 2021 A45S+ Plus hasn't been operating correctly for the past 2 months, I'm told by MB Coventry that I need an A00090016399051 Sensor, which is on Back-Order, with no expected delivery date! So I've got a £60k car without a functioning alarm system or Blind-Spot-Assist. To say I'm more than a little 'Peeved' is a massive understatement. I've always been a devout MB customer and driver but following this current fiasco, I'm being sorely tested. What to do? ps good work on your Updates, they've both saved me from & sorted many operational queries. Keep up the good work.

You can dismiss the message by clicking okay, or pressing the touchpad on the side of the steering wheel closest to the driver’s door (depends on what Mercedes you have)

No sorry I wouldn’t know, there’s only one in the UK called Mercedes me.
For number 10; We can use other map applications for sharing the address with car (ex; google maps). very useful.

Nice video. I'm thinking of either the eqs or eqs suv for my next car, but could you do a video dedicated to both the front and rear passenger? Stuff like how easy is it for both of them to watch movies while being driven and is it possible to stop kids in the back from playing with car related stuff from the back seats? Thanks in advance

I had a go with the MBUX hyperscreen which has a screen dedicated for the front passenger:

However for the back there aren’t any screens in the rear on the EQS. I don’t know about the EQS SUV as it’s not out yet, but if I get my hands on one, I’ll be sure to mention it if it’s available!
@@npoleary the screens come park of a package I believe mate. I just don't want to go down the route of buying one of these cars with top spec to find my son on road trips will fiddle with car functions instead of watching his stuff.

Nice and informative video. I'm just missing one feature in the Mercedes Me app that is often standard with other manufacturers (or maybe I couldn't find it): where can I see the temperature outside the car? It is available in other cars, why not in the app? I live in Norway, and outside temperature is often important. By the way, I use an electric EQC.

Hey Nick , thanks for the amazin videos , couple fo questions (1) when I set up my car , I created a user, and enabled it using the finger print , seemed cool at that point, but , now its painful to do it each time, can I disable the bio metrics, and default to that one user (2) what is the traffic light assist mode, very little information about it around ?.

Yes just click on the user profile selector on the top of the screen when you turn it on (on the car)
In here you can delete the fingerprint and just have to it default to your profile automatically without the need to log in.
Traffic Light Assist basically shows you the camera view on your screen when you get near some traffic lights. It saves you having to lean forward and look at the traffic light in case its at an awkward angle 🤓

Just picked up a 2023 C-Class, pinnacle with all available options and I find the app just...ok. I also have a 2021 sonata limited and its app does SO MUCH more for roughly 30k less. Notably absent: Digital Key, controlling windows, etc. (US Market) ALso missing in US Market (I think) vs. this video: Rain sensor for open windows.

Well with any car, DON’T turn it on.
It would be easier for Roadside Assistance to recover the car and a workshop drain the fuel tank.
If the car is switch on then the contaminated fuel would potentially reach the engine causing further damage.

I’ve seen it before when covering the Mercedes me app, for collisions there was a big button at the bottom that said “Delete Event”.
However if it’s just alarms that have been triggered I don’t believe you can delete those. I think they expire after a set time 👍🏼

It depends where you live, in the UK sadly not it’s only hybrids and EV’s that allow pre-entry climate control. It is available in selected other countries though. Sadly don’t know which ones but I’m sure it’s in the USA.
Thank you for their video. However, my app and my Mercedes EQE don’t seem to stay connected. Every few weeks I have to call the dealership of Mercedes customer service to reset the vehicle. This works for about a week or two then they uncouple. So all these tips are great if the vehicle is able to stay connected to the app. Any advice on that, please?

I’ve not had any Mercedes me issues with mine that I bought from my local one. Are Mercedes checking it out for you? I guess the only thing I could suggest (so not sure if it would work) but that would be to delete the entire Mercedes me account and set up a fresh one? Just a thought 💭

Hey David, it depends on the model and where abouts you live, in the UK Mercedes me services are typically free of charge for the first 3 years (depending on the service) from the car’s registration and you can subscribe to them afterwards if you want to.
Zero extra expense. I lease a new Merc every 3 years including maintenance. With a three year warranty that means I have zero extra costs. My friend "who OWNS his 5/6 year old cars pays more in maintenance and ad hoc bills than my entire lease payment and he drives six year old cars.

No sadly not, not seen that before on Mercedes cars. I’m sure some 3rd party tracking solutions out there might offer something like that.

My friend's 20 plate TPMS feature shows the pressure in 'kPA' which is driving her nuts. Can the app change the kPA to psi or Bar....?

I believe it’s just Apple Maps that allow sharing to the car. I noticed that it stopped from Google Maps too!
I have a 2022 EQS. I live in the Dominican Republic where Mercedes me connect is not available. Is there a way I can at least download dashcam app on Mercedes app store? I have a Mercedes me connect account that worked perfectly when I lived in the USA, but I moved and now it doesn't communicate. Is there a way I can put a Sim card to provide internet to the car ? How does the car connects to the internet usually?
Hey really sorry I wouldn’t know as I’ve only ever reviewed and time in UK cars. In the UK it connects via Vodafone so not sure what it connects outside of the UK.
I’d suggest probably just chatting to Mercedes and they should be able to help you out 🤓
The pre-entry climate control is awesome. It's a bummer it's limited to only the electric vehicles. When doing the remote start on gasoline/petrol vehicles, can you adjust the temperature in the app?

Hey barley531 it varies round the world massively. It depends where you live and the specification and year of car.
For the UK, 2016 onwards, Mercedes me services are quite prominent features found in cars so geofencing should work on yours 🤓
My first 3 days with 2023 S Class have been good except: the direction (N, NE, E, etc.) pointer is gone from the HUD. Any way to get it back? The two entries, auto steering and lane keeping status, at the right of the current display are useless for me. Would love to replace with direction, which I referred to often in 2019 S Class.
Hey Simpson Jack, I don’t recall seeing it there but if it’s available on the newer model, press Home on the steering wheel closest the door and go to the Head Up display settings often by swiping up or swiping across. NTG 7 offers pre set themes so there is a possibility a compass might not be there in this version
Hey Nick i have a question about the pre-entry climate controls. I have a a250-e and when it comes to the actual heating of the car it works great, but the seats wont heat up, I've tried checking and unchecking the buttons for the seats but I doesn't help. Any tips?
Hey Unox, there’s a toggle in the app for the heated seats. If that’s not working, have you spoken with your local Mercedes dealership? If not I’d definitely speak with them as they’ll be able to take a closer look in person with a technician or something 🤓

Hiya Nick. Just had my new EQA 250+ delivered today and I set up the Mercedes Me app with my wife as a co-user. However, for both of us, the identity check is not working. We've both tried multiple times with both our passports and drivers licenses and yet we keep getting the email saying 'Identity check not successful'. Is there anything else we could try or do we need to take a trip to a dealership?
Hey Gareth, sadly you can’t add a car yourself most of the time but if you get on touch with your local Mercedes, they can do it for you 🤓

Only certain Mercedes can do this so it depends on the model and year of car you have.
You can check on the Mercedes me store and see if there’s a thing called the Entertainment Package.
Or on the Mercedes me app, press Menu, make sure your car is selected, Manage Services, Infotainment, Music Streaming & then “Linked Accounts”.
Hi Nick, i was wondering if you knew if/how I can change the rate at which the A 250e charges from the app? I can change it from 6, 8 or the max amps in the car but can't find any way on the app. I found one article that tells you to go into the "Charge Status" section of the app but that particular option is not there. I'm UK based if that helps. Thanks in advance and sorry if you have explained it in another video!
Hey KP, no I’ve not seen that in the app before. There’s climate control but not the rate of charge. I would imagine that it’s just an internal car thing that you just set once.

Hmm if you don’t think something’s right get in touch with Mercedes me Support or staff at a Mercedes dealer, they’ll be able to help!
A couple of things to note and try:
1) A Mercedes dealer has to verify your car most of the time if you’ve added it yourself before you can unlock / lock etc (quite common if you’ve bought one second hand and it’s still linked to the previous owner)
2) Mercedes me Digital Extras are not 100% free, there’s a free trial for certain packages from new (from the car’s registration date) for the first 3 years. After this they are chargeable.
3) Make sure you’ve accepted the Terms of Use on the app.
4) Mercedes me only works in certain countries so double check with Mercedes staff and they can let you know if it’s the car’s compatible

No sadly in the UK petrol / diesel cars can’t do that
EV’s and Plug-in hybrids can as they have an auxiliary heater.
If you’ve literally just bought it, call Mercedes me support, I’ve heard they have a 14 day refund period 👍🏼

Hey Eiken, best to speak with Mercedes for that one, all of the functions that are available should be shown there. They should be able to check your Mercedes me account and let you know what’s available.

My 2023 C300 doesn't have some of these features in the Mercedes Me Connect app. Also, did they stop adding the LED lights in the air vents for the 2023 models?
Ah it can vary, it depends but your local Mercedes can let you know exactly what it can do!
Ambient Lighting is a little bit more subtle in C-Class’s, usually found under panels and the footwells 👍🏼

Hi Nick, thanks for the infos. Is it possible to start engine remotely in PHEV models? I have 2022 gle 350de, but my mercedes me app does not have this feature.
Not remotely start the actual engine but PHEVS have an auxiliary heater so can pre-heat or pre-cool the interior 👍🏼
@@npoleary thanks for your reply Nick. but for pre-heating or cooling, the battery must be at a certain charge level. If it is used without charging, this function does not work :(
Oh yes that’s right, it’ll need to be charged to pre-heat or pre-cool.
More efficient to do it while it’s plugged in anyway 🤓
Hey Nick . I am interested in surveillance system . So basically if the car is parked and anyone tries to do something with my car then it should record videos or take photos and notifies me . Which service I should use for this ?
Sadly cars can’t record videos etc (not yet anyway) that would be good!
You’ll have source either CCTV or the property (cameras or smart doorbells) for 3rd party dashcams for that sort of security

has their been a video about consumsion from hybride cars? How much is your car needing to travel 100 Km on gasoline and on electric and combination from both? How to calculate when the info you need is not available?
Hey Hugo, no I haven’t made one about that, I might do in the future though.
Basically it’s Miles per Gallon for fuel (MPG) & miles per kW in the UK. Of course with a plug-in hybrid it can be tricky to work both out as you have both but it’ll run on electric first till it’s used up at which point it’ll switch over to the engine
@@npoleary The main problem is knowing how many miles you have on your car. That is where there seams to be no agreement here. What is the meaning of the info on the display in the car. Gasoline or electrical miles. The calculation himself is easy, but you need correct numbers!
Is this the remaining range? It automatically calculates a predictive range based on your energy usage, where you’ve driven and how you’ve driven over the past 100 or so miles.
It’ll always adapt just like internal combustion engines 🤓

Hello, can the vehicle be detected in real time if it is equipped with a 360 camera (with bird's eye view) and show it in the mercedes me application?
Sadly no you can’t view a live video on Mercedes me of the car. You can get alerts through though depending on the model

i am trying to peer my new GLC 2023 with mercedes me app but the activation code not displayed on the car screen however it is connected to home wifi . do i need to use the data line of the car instead !!
When adding a car it’s best to just ask Mercedes to do it.
If you’re stuck they can help + if you’ve bought from a main dealer they will have done this for you 🤓
I found it’s usually the email on an order form or something similar 🤓

Hi, can I use the Mercedes me app with my 2019 C200 W205 Facelift? My local dealer said I couldn't but I found it in the setting menu so I doubt.
Hey Chris, your Mercedes-Benz dealership should be able to let you know if you can use it. I would have thought you could, it’s been around on virtually all models since 2016.
It does vary round the world though and not all countries have it.

Nick, I have a 2019 E 300 and a 2021 GLC 300 4matic and I have the Mercedes me app activated and all services activated as well. BUT I don't have many of those features showing on my Mercedes Me app. Can my cars be upgraded or updated or have these features add to my Mercedes Me app and/or have my car programmed to included these features that you're showing in this video? Or how do I have these features turned on, on my cars?

You can see what’s available by going to the Mercedes me store. If any features are available they’ll be shown and listed there.

@@npoleary Well, some of the features in your video, my Mercedes me app doesn't show up. Like being able to put the windows up or turn on the heat/AC or turn on the seat warmers from the Mercedes Me app?
I can lock my doors, track my car, mileage, amount of gas in my tank, start my car, etc.. but I can't do some of those other features you showed in your video.
And my 2021 GLC HAS the MBUX in it.
So I wanted to see if there could be some reprogramming which could add some of those features you showed in your video?
I'm assuming it should only be a matter of programming, to enable those types of features?
Hey Bernie, sadly it’s only compatible with certain models. Basically when a car is connected to Mercedes me, on the app are all of the features available for that connected car. More can be purchased from the Mercedes me store if available.
Things like heating / cooling are only available in the UK on vehicles with an auxiliary heater (usually plug-in hybrids and electric cars)

Hey Dave, to add a car if you have one of the newer multimedia systems then you can scan a code on the screen.
If that doesn’t work or you don’t have it on yours, get in touch with your local Mercedes and they’ll give you a hand
Will the boot lid close automatically if you left it open?
No it would stay open
Same with the doors, if you leave it unlocked, it will stay unlocked until you lock it 👍🏼
Can you please show du how to take the black cover off the Mercedes me app. We have a black cover over our Mercedes car in the Mercedes me app and we dont know how we can take it off. Could you help is?
Oh once all of the Mercedes me services / digital extras are switched on, it disappears after a couple of days. That’s what it did for my car anyway when I bought it.

send to vehicle work w or w/o BT. so it works with BT when u are nearby. otherwise, sends the command over the internet. that's why it shows all other cars as well.
I mostly even use Google maps then tap on share option to send it to vehicle before starting my journey. So it is also working when vehicle is offline as well as supporting any map applications
I bet you are already aware of these cases but the information in the video was a bit not clear, imho

I try and cover tips and tricks that cover the whole range of Mercedes. They all have various systems etc as there are so many models and the vast majority of them do send it over Bluetooth.
However yes you are right some of the more later versions can receive them via Mercedes me without a phone connected 🤓

Yes NTG 5 / NTG 5.5 should be Bluetooth
NTG 6 or newer should do it remotely 👍🏼

No
Just simply don’t plug it in, or use a different USB port
Alternatively if it’s wireless CarPlay, just go to the device manager and toggle it off 🤓

It sounds like you might not have it, the app is where you can purchase it from the Mercedes me store.
The one thing I was looking for only to find out this feature (pre-entry climate control) is only available on their hybrid/all electric vehicles 😞 😔
Ah no they have auxiliary heaters or heat pumps which allow them to do it. Sadly petrol and diesel don’t

Why isn’t my ‘21 e450 coupe showing pre entry climate controls on my app?
Pre-Entry Climate controls are only found on EV’s and Plug-in hybrids in the UK (but this could vary elsewhere)

Think I’ve only seen the ones called “Freeside Mood”. Think they’re usually the ones supplied in cars that have it. Quite a rare option though, pretty sure I’ve only seen it a couple of times.

I’ve never seen a 3rd party option but I know that Mercedes dealerships do sell them. Think there’s around 4-5 different scents.

I’ve used Quickbooks before but there’s Mileage Tracker by Driversnote, MileIQ as apps to download on the App Store which will offer similar features
They should invest in a sort of technology that would stop the car with thieves inside. Stop and trigger a sort of alarm from your phone. My s 500 coupe was stolen recently and I was with the police on the phone saying to go and follow the car, or check the cameras. They are so good at sending us fines for speed or other events but when thieves are stealing our cars they become invisible. The trauma I was left with as well as other people is something for a lifetime. We should be able to stop and lock the car with the thieves in and trigger an alarm and police to be informed ASAP. You can t have a dream car in UK because someone will steal it from you sooner or later!!

How you remove collision detected? I have one and i cannot remove.
I think it removes itself after a little while, sadly not had that happened to a car that I've had on test or my own car so not sure what the prompts say on screen
