Congratulations. I want to suggest that if "Mercedes-Benz" is offering extended coverage (warrantee) for your car, consider buying that now, if you haven't already. The reason is the cost for extended coverage will be less money during the time when you first buy a car (within a month or so) because it's considered a good road worthy car by the selling dealership. But if you wait too long the cost for coverage goes up and up. The reason is because there are people that buy the coverage late because they damaged the car, and they don't want to pay a big repair bill, and the coverage is less than the bill.
The hook on the handle is in case you need to tie the hatch down when you have a long item in the vehicle inhibiting the closure of the doorway. It's why it's described as "temporary tie down" in the owners manual.
while accessing your spare you will notice a long ribbon and hook and guess where you stick that hook to keep the floor hatch open while grabbing your spare and tools? you got it.
Thank you. I didn't know that. I thought its only purpose was to hold-up the lid in the trunk floor. I confess, after we bought our car I left the Owner's Manual out in plain sight, and for the past three years it's been collecting dust. Maybe now I'll read it after shaming myself in public.
#9 For anyone confused by the explanation, basically Mercedes are designed not to roll like other cars. It's most noticeable when leaving a stop sign that's on a down hill. In most cars you can just let off the brake and the car will roll away on its own. In a Mercedes you have to have pressure on the accelerator pedal for the car to roll normally.
#9 new MB owner, I just bought one for my Wife (she drives more than I do, and I wanted her to be safe). I thought it was the CVT, her new Mercedes is also our first car with a CVT. Thanks for the information!
The hook on the handle is more for your dry cleaning. If you're walking up to the car you can hit the button open it and then hang your dry cleaning while you're moving stuff inside the car or setting things down if your hands are full that way you can put it on one of the interior hook handles on the back seats.
I honestly didn't think about the air tight cabin and keeping the air on, makes tons of sense now cuz it explains those headaches which I thought were hangovers 😅
Sometimes I don’t like the AC and I turn off but that is why I got headache. Well since today I won’t turn off my air conditioner anymore and thank you so much for explaining why. 😊
The info about the gas pedal sensing answered a question for me! Once in a great while, while turning onto a street, it has seemed like my car almost stalled! Now I know that I am causing it and will work on not lifting my foot! Thank you!
I have that feature on my 2011 BMW, and it saves brakes. Car will decelerate with foot removed from gas pedal. It works well on down hill portions as some cars will upshift and go faster. I have the original brakes and rotors after 93K miles. My older cars would burn thru brakes in 40K miles.
The driver who downshifted by accident made, "The Wilhelm scream!!!" It has been used in movies and videos since 1953!!! A character in a western movie named Wilhelm, (Played by Sheb Wolly, "Flying Purple People Eaters," fame), got hit by an Indian's arrow and he makes that scream as he falls from his horse!!! The scream is free domain, and it is titled; "Man being eaten by Alligator."
I have owned my first ever Mercedes for a year and a half now and knew about 4 of the 'don'ts, but you answered 3 things I couldn't figure out (THANK YOU!) and the rest was news to me! Awesome...!
Number nine helped me out a lot because I was wondering what was going on and why the car slowed down by itself all of a sudden. Thanks for making this video.😊 what I wanted to know is what does those three soft buttons under the rearview mirror do? And I also wanted to know if you can turn off the dimming, and if you can turn off the feature that makes the Sideview mirror tilt when you reverse.
3 buttons on the bottom of the rearview mirror can be programmed to open garage doors. Watch my video how to do it here ruclips.net/video/NK61NimaPUY/видео.html. Also, you can switch your right mirror from tilting while in Reverse, if you switch your mirror control from the right to left mirror. But it's a helpful feature for parking, and you can adjust it for yourself. the REST function did cool my 2014 ML350 for half an hour when there was a "sauna" outside, not to mention newer MB cars. It was not residual cold. Older MB cars that I had only blew residual cold for a minute and then it became hot like outside. In colder weather it blows warm air by using residual heat of the engine. And the REST function has been there since 30 years ago or even before (maybe not for all models).

The headlight off at night or in the dark is very useful. On the Fisher Island Ferry, they require headlights off while the ferry is navigating across the water. And if can be quite uncomfortable having to turn off the vehicle and no A/C. Great tip to be able to keep the vehicle running with A/C on and lights off.

Great car. It's not a full SUV, it's based on the C-Class chassis, which is great but not as god as GLE if you take it off-road. GLC is great for a city-drive, good handling and good fuel-efficiency, easy to park. It has excellent safety features.

didn't know most of them. The one about the insane paddle shifter cancelling and vin location was great! Thank You. I have driven manual transmission vehicles forever and find the "paddle shift" ridiculous for MB.
You are the best!!! Question: The other day I drove my wife's GLC300. It was getting dark and I was starting a lane change. I looked in the driver side mirror and it was almost black, I couldn't see anything. I know that they are self dimming, but black??? It went away after about 10 minutes.
That's not normal. In fact, they can't dim to a total black. Maybe that mirror wasn't positioned correctly and reflected some light or maybe some dark surface, like black paint body color of the car (or something else). Or a lot of bright light coming from the back made mirrors dimming to the max.
Thanks, very cool video. Big Like. Now, the new GLE makes one and then 3 loud and annoying rigs/bells/alarm sounds first when you enter and start your Benz. I switched from 2019 to 2022 and immediately noticed it on the new one. One of your "don't" about the REST button can hear those sounds. Any idea on how to lower the volume or turn it off completely? I appreciate you looking into this.
Yes, if you use automatic climate control (not manual fan). Just set the temperature, and AC will slow down as soon as the temperature is reached. Don't set very low temp, especially during hot days. So, if it's 100 degrees outside, set your system to 74 or something like that.
@@MBZMaster I believe that you misunderstood what I was asking. If I take my GLE 450 to a track and I want every bit of horsepower that I can get, I absolutely don't want for my AC compressor to cycle on when I have it floored wide open. Most vehicles will run the compressor no matter where you have the temperature set, however the computers in some vehicles will tell the compressor not to run when you have it floored wide open throttle. So I was asking if you knew if the GLE 450's computer tells the AC compressor not to run when the throttle is wide open?
I doubt GLE's computer would shut down the AC compressor during the kick-down. The only time the computer will prioritize, as far as I'm aware, is when the vehicle is losing power due to the battery, alternator failure, or some major overheating. Then, the computer may decide to shut down anything that is considered less important, like AC.
Great tutorials, thank you. Just bought a 2014 E350. There are 2 control panels attached to the seats which appear to be for lumbar control. They do not appear to work and cannot find anything online about them. Were they original equipment or could they be aftermarket? Thank you.
