You fixed problems dealers can't and you present this issue in such an entertaining way & more importantly, educating the general public 👍. This proves again dealership can't solve anything even with their vast resources & access to internal MB records, sad. Glad people like you still exist, thank you SIR !🙏
You are THE MAN. Thank you so very much for taking the time to share your wealth of knowledge. If only I had found your tutorials sooner, I would have cried ten thousand less frustrated tears.
Your videos have help me a lot I have the E350, S600 and my wife have the C300 we love the Mercedes Benz. My wife and I would always put our keys in the same cabinet drawer in the kitchen and when we walk into the garage the cars will wake up beep and lights flash even when the keys are in the drawer. The way I fix the issue was separating all the smart keys further away from the garage in different rooms now our cars rest easy
My 2018 C43 showed warning message “Stop Vehicle, Leave Engine Running” when I start it this morning after two weeks not driving. Will follow your instructions. Very helpful 👍 Thank you.
This just one smart person! This is one you take a problem seriously and do not stop until you fix it. It also shows that hooking up testing devices without deep knowledge of the function does not fix car.
Brilliant video! You can’t believe how much I have spent on new batteries for a stored vehicle that I stopped driving 7 years ago, nickel battery retainer and all! This is surely the cause of the dead batteries..
You are right that in MB it disable the keyless go on the remote control to stop talking with the car, but the car is still searching for the key when it is near and on. You can check it if you disable the keyless go with one key, but if you bring from far the second one that is on before you get near the car, when you get close to the car the will open without pressing anything. So you are disabling the remote, but not the car.So if you will park in a big parking lot, the car would still search for an active key near by. It is true that if the only key around is disabled it will not drain the battery, since no other key is around.
Correct, but the drainage of looking for a key is extremely minimal, comparing to the battery drainage of when the connection with the key is established.
I am facing same problem with my Merc Benz 300 in Hong Kong and have struggled over last 4 months . I went to mechanic few times and asked him if I need to replace my battery but he always checked and said battery is healthy and good . And other problem was my smart key's battery running out quickly .I carry a jump start and have to use it twice each day .But now I know and will follow your advise .Thanks a ton to you 🙏
Glad that I looked at this video before calling the dealership. I put my C 250 up for the winter. I went to start it and it's dead. I know what to do now. Thanks.
Thank you so much man I have a 2021 car and last weekend I took it out side the garage to wash and wax it but I forgot the stupid smartkey fob inside the car after 2 and a half hours detailing the car when I went to start it the battery already drained it's so frustrating especially when you take your car to be fixed and they all tell you that their is nothing wrong with your cars battery I needed a jump start that day.
I always leave my key hanging in the house door lock at night ( inside obviously), while the car is parked outside, maybe 5 metres distance. The car battery never died, I never really gave it more than a day off, but I had to replace the key battery with a 12 month period. Might be unconnected but I going to move the keys at nite to the back of the house and use the disable function too. Great tip. Thanks
9:57My first Keyless Go car was 2008 GL550. Our first GL. We loved that car. His name was Georg. Lowering the suspension to Sport position let him carve through the twisties like nobody’s business. And the monster V8, the 21” AMG wheels. Always a party!!
Thanks for the revealing information!! My first car equipped with Keyless is my actual GLK 350, in fact I came to this video because my batery died "for no reason" after 3 days of no use and this video was an eye oppener for me because I used to store my key pretty close; problem is being a 2013 GLK I can´t disable the Keyless Go by double click and I can't find any other way to dosable it.
Great info. I have a 2011 E 350 coupe. It is a totally under rated car. I bought it second hand and never got the dealer run down. This channel is very helpful. Thanks!
I know this is true because when i sit in my cls to smoke when i go to crank it it hesitates like battery failing. Replacing my key fob battery right now led me here because im sittin in walmart parking lot and car wont crank battery too weak lol....NOW I FINALLY KNOW, appreciate it
Thank you so much for your tips on different things that we may not have known about our mercs! I now know a lot more about the different things that you have shown on your precious and valuable videos. Thank you so so much my friend 👌
Amazing video, my car battery was dying as well, also the battery in the fob was dying. This is my first keyless smart car Mazda 6,2017 and I was just leaving the keys in the car because I have a garage attached to the house. My battery is only a year old but my old battery was having this problem too, so like an idiot I bought a new car battery last year when I probably didn't need it. This keyless fob issue has given me so much problems, I was even thinking of trading the car in for a new one soon. 😆
Good information. I just bought my wife a newer car and the spare (aftermarket) key fob battery keeps dying within 4-5 days. Her OEM remote doesn't have this issue. I keep the aftermarket fob in the garage which is nearer to the car (although the car is parked outside). I'll move it back further in the house and see if the fob battery lasts longer.
That is the reason why my battery keeps draining and draining again and again thank you very very much for this info.I had the same situation cuz I keep the smart key in my car.I hope this works,if this works you would be like an angel to me.
So educational- thanks so much @MBZ Master. I am dealing with a dead battery right now & was absolutely puzzled. Great tips to get me on the right track once I charge and get my battery going again!
I have this problem! I have a 2013 S550 4matic with keyless go. I don't drive it frequently ,however I do start it up weekly. I don't keep my key in the kitchen because I noticed that the door locks would activate when I brushed against the car. So I put them on the table off of the kitchen. Problem solved no! Battery still dies after a few days. After viewing this video I realized that the keyless go for my Navigator are kept in a drawer in the kitchen, about 10 feet from the MB in the garage. I will now move those keys to see if it makes a difference. I'll update you in the future. Thank you.
Also, don't forget, if battery already drained many times, at one point it will not be able to completely recover and needs to be replaced. But definitely move your other keys away from both cars.
Very informative at least you did take the time to be very thorough in explaining this Problem, my local Porsche dealership is crap I have to travel almost 2 hours to get professional from another Porsche dealership. Thanks again! Be safe….
Thanks to author for very detailed video. I know many people know this solution already but: the faraday cage is able to solve this problem aswell. If you have the same problem as the guy mentioned by Mr. author you can get any small box with the faraday cage in its construction for storing the car key inside during the parking time ... I am going to buy some small pouch/pocket with ring hanging besides the key so you can put it inside. PS: I was facing problem with sleepeing in my ex GLK(btw: very good car!!! Small but very powerful! Baby G :D) during my trips. Car was locking itself after some time so it was screaming and waking me up. I believe it is solvable with mentioned Box/pouch/whatever else ...
Thanks for your explanation, I has mercedes 450 gls 2017. I learned a lot from your videos specially I can close my car windows with out starting my car. I impressed my children that I can do some voice magic ""Close the windows"".but they don't know i hold the key button. Thanks love from Connecticut USA 🇺🇸.
MERCEDES BENZ ! ( 14 years ago ) lol good info though ; never thought any keyless go key would activate my MB gotta watch all this new technology THANKS
Sir I salute you with your wealth of knowledge on Mercedes it has helped me so much setting up my recently purchased 2018 C200 2 door coupe, love you humour too, keep up the good work!
Thank you Immensely, Mr.MBZ, for this Video - it is a real 'eye opener' for myself, and I've been driving for well over forty-six years!! ❤💯%❤ Roland Singh, Canada 🇨🇦
This was so useful, I would never have guessed this was the problem! I just purchased a Merc A250e sedan and it has keyless go. Will definitely follow your guidelines.
Mr. MBS Master: here another one: you can use Faraday cages ( Key Shield Faraday Bag) to protect your key fobs from criminals' signal boosting or copying efforts. Inside a Faraday "bag", the smart keys' radio signals would be blocked from leaving the cage due to the current, and no signal could reach into the "bag" to copy the keys' security codes. This will also solve the problem you presented in the video, with the very witty and great show :))) Good luck using this solution as well!!
@@MBZMaster But this means you need to do this every time you park to minimise battery drainage ALL the the time. Mercedes need to program the car computer to deactivate KeylessGo to prevent the battery draining below a level that is still sufficient to start the car. In winter the computer deactivates the engine heater if the battery is low so there is always enough charge to start the engine. Love your videos🕊
The faraday key pouch works for a while then it stops.. when the foil weakens it stops working.. you probably walking around with your car keys in a pouch thinking oh, it's secured, no it's not when you've had hit for sometime.
I just replaced my 11 year old OEM Varta with a Silver Dynamic Varta. The star-stop works again. The glow plugs heat faster. Hopefully it sees 11 years too.
Try to disable the Keyless Go feature completely, as I showed, and see if the problem persists. If it does, - then the problem is not caused by your SmartKey.
Omg this happened to me. Dealership thought I was crazy. Especially with the pandemic. This never used to happen before. I think we replaced 4 batteries in a year
Thank you! I just got a cert preowned 2022 GLB today, & was looking at various youtube channels for info. And your videos are so informative. This is my first keyless go car, & I always used leave my keys in my car when I got home. You saved me from dealing with what your friend went through. Question, how far away do my key fobs have to be from the car? We keep our spare fobs in the laundry room which is on the other side of the garage. However, our cars are about 8 ft, & 15 ft away from the cars. Thanks again!😊
Great info. I am completely in love with keyless go. Never had a problem although sometimes it locks, unlocks, locks unlocks, when I am near with key in my pocket. Not felicitous when I'm handwashing the car. So annoying. I wouldn't give it up though. Completely spoiled with this great convenience. No more searching through my purse for several minutes then dumping out all on pavement locating my key while lurkers decide to shoot me or worse....!
Very educational thank you so much. Question: if I keep the spare smart key near the car but wrap it in aluminum foil, does it prevent the key to communicate with the car battery?
Yes, but that would be too much of a hassle. Much easier is to hit lock button on the SmartKey twice (if you have MB) - that would disable the Keyless Go until you use the key again. Or just keep it 10 -15 ft. away from your car.
Fascinating...and absolutely logical. I never experienced this but should have realized it. We don't keep our keys close to the car but sometimes don't drive a car for days...weeks...sometimes even months (usually winter months). That's when a CTEK battery tender comes in handy. Anyways, a quick question...what if you don't lock the car? My cars are always garaged. Would leaving them locked or unlocked be better when it comes to battery drain? Or would it not make a difference? My first smart key (KEYLESS-GO) was with a W220 S-500 at which time, iirc, it was an option. Since then, it has gone more mainstream and KEYLESS-GO has become, at least with my experience with S-Classes, pretty much standard. That includes my W221s and W222 as well as the W223s and EQS that I test drove last week.
Your car is always looking for a key, whether it's locked, unlocked, or even when you start and drive it, your car always communicates with your key. The only way to stop the communication is to double-click on the Smartkey's LOCK button, as I showed in the video. That disables the Keyless Go, until you use it again.
Since 2019 Mercedes has equipped the Keyless Go controller with a movement sensor. When you lay your controller on a desk, a shelf or into a drawer it will fall asleep. No more checking, no more sending, no more hand-shake. This was done mainly to prevent theft through copying the controller-signal with special devices outside the house near your car while you sleep at home with your keys in the kitchen-drawer. But when he (was it Steve?) opens the drawer frequently to pick up some other items or to lay them back the key will wake up each time. Drawer? Bad idea! Put it on your desktop in your home-office or into a box. I have my controller on a shelf with significant distance to my house-door and even further distance to my car.
That's true. Latest MB Smart Keys fall asleep if not used, but the problem is they are very sensitive to even slight movements, like wind, drawer movements, floor shaking etc... so I still recommend to keep them at the distance from the car.
Easiest think to do is put your key fob in aluminum foil…..It acts as a quick and dirty faraday cage and works very well….you just have to remember to do it…. 😊
Wow. I just had my car into an auto detailer for paint correction and ceramic coating and I was shocked when I received a critical warning on my starter. The detailer kept the keys in the car the entire time as it had a secure garage but he kept it for two days and now I wonder if this critical message was due to this issue.
You are awesome and make very well done videos. Thank you Please advise - how to turn off of third row reading light with hatch door /tail gate open? We use car for camping and hate when the light stays on in the dark with tail gate open. Thanks in advance
I don't think you can turn it off because it designed to light up the interior while the rear door is raised, but those lights will turn off automatically after a while - to preserve the battery. So, just put some black masking tape over those lights until they switch off automatically.
Thank you for your video it's very informative. I have learned a lot, and I'm glad you created this program. I have some questions, I am not sure if you have encountered it but my MB cla passenger seat is beeping on the left side but no alert from the dashboard or no seat belt alarm as no one is sitting there, or any item on top of the seat. I have recently replaced the battery as well, but no issue with the battery according to maintenance people. I hope you can help me to find where it is coming from.
@@MBZMaster Thank you for your reply. The beeping is loud, constant and annoying similar to the seat belt sound but the tone is different (it's like a phone ringing) no display of warning lights I can find. If I reach my speed of 80 kph when it starts beeping, even if someone is sitting on it and the seat belt is buckled up. It's coming exactly on the left side of the passenger seat close to the air bag area. I actually recorded the sound but I do not know how to send it here.
So, you're saying the beeping only happens when you reach 80 mph? Maybe your car is equipped with the Speed Limit Warning. Try to turn it off, or maybe set different speed limit. See if it works.
Great job! Love your videos! My question is if my MB car is wasting more batteries if I double click my keyless go key (sleeping) or if I live the car open into the garage? Thanks for your answer!
If you double-click the lock button, because it will disable the KeylessGo, so your car will stop looking for a key. Note, it doesn't drain a lot of battery, but it will accumulate the drainage toll over time, or if you don't drive your car every day.
Thanks, great tip. Does it happen with remote car key opener as well? I have honda with a remote key opener, if I press lock once it locks the car, but if I press twice he car not only locks but it beeps as well. Why does that happens? As you said is my car in constant communication with each other ( the key and the battery)although it only opens when I press the open button as it is not a key less entry and I need the key to start the car. By the way mine is a very old Honda accord 2005 top of the line model and I kept it well 310,000km
No, your car doesn't have this problem because it doesn't have a Keyless Go feature. So your key doesn't need to communicate with your car from a distance. On Honda, when you press the remote key to lock - it doesn't make any beeps. Many times, you don't want to make beeping noises - especially at night, so you don't wake your neighbors. However, if you want to confirm that everything is locked and alarm is active, then you press lock twice. If you hear a beep - it means everything is OK. So your car gives you an option of quiet lock, or lock with the confirmation beep.
Very good informational video. Do you know which battery (Main or Aux) is drained by the Smart Key? If I leave the car (2017 E400 coupe) in the garage for more than a week, I start having the auxiliary battery malfunction issue. I have charged the Aux Battery but the message comes back if the car sits for a week or so, after a week the voltage is 12.2 V on the Aux battery, do I need to replace it or is normal? Does it only last 4 years? I am trickle charging the main battery when the car sits for longer but still have the Aux Battery issue, I don't think the Aux battery is charged when you charge the Main battery, right? Thank you
AUX battery needs to charged by alternator - strong current, so the car has to be started. If you don't drive for a week, it's a good idea to run your car for a few minutes at least once in the middle of the week, and keep your SmartKey away from a car to reduce any additional pressure from a battery. You can also use the "Mercedes Me" app to start your car from your cell phone. AUX battery acts like a capacitor, as a bodyguard of the main battery. But once totally depleted, it will be hard to recover to a perfect condition again. If the message keeps popping up, maybe it needs to be replaced, which is very easy to do.
I have always kept my key fob in my handbag in my bedroom, the furthest point away from my car. I’ve never had a problem with the battery dying before last week. I had the battery checked after I charged it and the battery is good, alternator is good. What should I do?
@@MBZMaster I’m going to do that today. I hate to because of the expense, plus this battery is only 2 years old. Thank you! Wishing you a fantastic day! 😁
master: Great video, many thanks! Unrelated question: I drive a S212 when I go golfing. When I sit in the trunk to change my shoes, often the lid closes prematurely, maybe after two minutes, before I'm done. How can I prevent this from happening? Many thanks.
As I showed in the video - double-click the lock button to disable the Keyless Go feature. Next time when you unlock the door - it will be activated automatically.
I have had a message recently in my Mercedes Me App on my new 2022 GLS450 (October in-service date) indicating "Starter battery partially charged" after only 900 miles on the car. The weather in North Texas had dropped to 20 degrees outside and the car was outside under a carport. The key was in the house 75 feet away. Would double click locking have helped avoid battery drain? Also, why did the Mercedes-Benz dealership charge your friend $150 to diagnose the GLS450, that was draining the battery in your video. It appears to be a 2020 or newer model, and my understanding is the car has a 4 year 50,000 mile warranty. I contacted the dealership, in Dallas, where I purchased the SUV and talked to 2 service department folks and neither could suggest what could be the issue, or what batteries were effected, or how many batteries were in the car, 48v or 12v, or where the batteries were even located. Do you know? I was able to start the car (a couple days later) and drove it for an hour and the partial charge message went away, but I want to avoid the issue in the future. Also, why does Mercedes-Benz not have a better method of "learning" the many setups and features for a new purchaser; such as...an in the dealership, model specific, simulator or a more professional consistant message introduction & training? I actually read the owner manual ( 550 pages) but still had many questions...The salesman is brief and vague, the one concierge too busy, and really feel I am having difficulty finding out information about the expensive car I have purchased. I am tired of being told to just "play around" with the screens and buttons and you'll figure it out. I have talked with other Mercedes-Benz new car owners and they stated the same concerns. Great cars, vague instructions and training.
It doesn't refer to a main battery, rather to AUX "starter battery." partially - means your battery is still ok to start, so it shouldn't be a problem.
I have a 2017 S550 and I’m very disappointed that I have to rely on dubious sources on the internet to learn the many features of the car. Wouldn’t a comprehensive manual be an advantage to MB?
Going from the UK to visit family in the Netherlands - Drive 40 miles towards cross-channel ferry - Discover all passports have been left at home - Turn around and drive 40 miles back home, park on drive & let wife go inside to get passports - Drive 70 miles to port - Stop at service station to fill up with cheap(??) UK petrol, well it's cheaper than France! - Pay for petrol... but car won't start! - Because keys are still on the kitchen side (didn't turn off engine whilst waiting for wife to collect passports) - Call friend with spare house key to pick up car keys from kitchen and drive 140 mile round trip to rescue our trip!! Cost? - 3 hour delay and £80 to friend for fuel and time, plus £90 for new ferry tickets several hours later! Now committed hater of "smart" keys of any description!!! Wife's current BMW X1 does NOT have proximity sensing!!!
I LOVED YOUR VIDEO. IT WAS LIKE A SHORT MOVIE. YOU ARE AMAZING AND THANK YOU FOR THIS INFORMATION AND TAKING THE TIME TO EXPLAIN THIS. I ALWAYS LEAVE MY FOB IN THE CAR IN OUR GARAGE. AND I RANDOMLY GOT A MESSAGE TO PULL OVER AND TURN OFF CAR. IT ENDED UP BEING MY BATTERY THAT WAS FUNCTIONING AT A LIEER PERCENTAGE AND DID NOT PASS BATTERY CHECK TEST. MY FOB ALSO NEEDED A BATTERY AT THE SAME TIME. I ASKED ADVISOR IF THIS WAS THE PROBLEM SND ONCE GHE FOB WAS REPLACED EOULD MY BATTERY PASS THE TEST? This was just asked about 15 min ago after I saw your video. I’ll let you know what they said. Thank you, again.
First car with Keyless Go is a GLE450 4Matic 2021. Why is the low frequency signal activated by proximity to the car? Why is it not designed to emit the signal only after a button is pressed?
Keyless Go works without pressing buttons on the SmartKey. The car has to make a decision to unlock or keep it locked before you pull the door handle. Also, the car needs to sense the key when the car is off, when it's on, and even while you drive. So communication is not momentary but constant.
Not only entertaining and informative, this just might be one of the most _important_ MBZ videos I've ever seen!

If you have to use the jumper twice a day, most likely the battery is already compromised to the point of no return, and needs to be replaced.

Amazing !! Thanks 🙏🏻 I’m watching now all your videos, I just bought a C300 😜👍🏻😎🇲🇽
Very funny! Sounds like a screenplay for a movie.
Fantastic tip, i just have this issue on my MB R 350 , just hit on the right Video so helpful !!!!
MERCEDES BENZ ! ( 14 years ago ) lol good info though ; never thought any keyless go key would activate my MB
gotta watch all this new technology THANKS
Sir I salute you with your wealth of knowledge on Mercedes it has helped me so much setting up my recently purchased 2018 C200 2 door coupe, love you humour too, keep up the good work!
Thank you Immensely, Mr.MBZ, for this Video - it is a real 'eye opener' for myself, and I've been driving for well over
forty-six years!! ❤💯%❤ Roland Singh, Canada 🇨🇦
This was so useful, I would never have guessed this was the problem! I just purchased a Merc A250e sedan and it has keyless go. Will definitely follow your guidelines.
Thank you so much for such informative videos of Mercedes Benz.. It's very much helpful for new users to have lots of tips in just one click..
your videos are so helpful and with a nice sense of humor. thank you!
Yes you can, but it's easier just to double click the lock button.
You don't have to do it every time, as long as you don't leave your keys very close to your car.
The faraday key pouch works for a while then it stops.. when the foil weakens it stops working.. you probably walking around with your car keys in a pouch thinking oh, it's secured, no it's not when you've had hit for sometime.
@@MBZMasterhow do you re activate the keyless after double clicking. I’m a new watching your video
I just replaced my 11 year old OEM Varta with a Silver Dynamic Varta. The star-stop works again. The glow plugs heat faster. Hopefully it sees 11 years too.
Brilliant. My app tells me continually that my battery is down on my amg after a few days. I also put my keys into a faraday pouch!
Try to disable the Keyless Go feature completely, as I showed, and see if the problem persists. If it does, - then the problem is not caused by your SmartKey.
Omg this happened to me. Dealership thought I was crazy. Especially with the pandemic. This never used to happen before. I think we replaced 4 batteries in a year
Best advice on keyless smart key fob!!! Thank you
MB C350 2008
Thank you for the tips, time to go fix a couple of issues
Congrats on your new GLB! 10ft or more should be fine.
2016 C-class , hoping for an AMG next . Love all the hidden features
Love this style of presentation!
When washing the car, just hit the lock button twice and you won't have that problem.
that video was great and interesting I did not know that FOB can drain tour battery once again great video.
Now I know why I have had to replace my smart key battery so often for my 2019 Mercedes GLC300. I never would have figured this out...
Great information! My first keyless go car was my 2017 C43.
Thank you so much
You wrote a lot
I'll keep u posted !
I had this problem with both of my Mercedes. I parked them side by side, too. Bought new batteries every three months. Now I know.
Hello dear how Mercedes drive on bettery I bought before two days but I am confused and nobody help me please can you help me
Fascinating...and absolutely logical.
@@MBZMaster Exactly! Distance from the car AND distance from house- or flat-door.
Thank you for the reminder to charge my battery
Easiest think to do is put your key fob in aluminum foil…..It acts as a quick and dirty faraday cage and works very well….you just have to remember to do it…. 😊
It's not easier than to press the LOCK button twice (if you have Mercedes), but the foil will also work.
Fantastic as always. Mercedes E43 AMG
Very good video. Toyota Prius 2009
Thank you! 👍
This is outstanding information. Thank you for sharing!
Wow. I just had my car into an auto detailer for paint correction and ceramic coating and I was shocked when I received a critical warning on my starter. The detailer kept the keys in the car the entire time as it had a secure garage but he kept it for two days and now I wonder if this critical message was due to this issue.
Did battery completely die?
@@MBZMaster No. It started up fine and eventually was able to get the starter back to partial.
You are awesome and make very well done videos. Thank you
Please advise - how to turn off of third row reading light with hatch door /tail gate open?
We use car for camping and hate when the light stays on in the dark with tail gate open.
Thanks in advance
I don't think you can turn it off because it designed to light up the interior while the rear door is raised, but those lights will turn off automatically after a while - to preserve the battery. So, just put some black masking tape over those lights until they switch off automatically.
Great tips I didn't know about, thanks
Can you make a video on how to turn off the SOS service light on a 2017 GLC300
Explains a lot!!! Thanks
Double click the lock button, priceless, thank you.
Thanks for video.good information.by the way i love Mercedes-Benz.🇸🇮🇸🇮🇸🇮👍👍👍😎😎😎😉😉😉
Which battery is affected by this, 12V or 48V?
Our GLS 580 had a 48v battery failure and our key is also within striking distance in the garage.
It can easily drain both. Keep your key as far as you can. Those batteries, if they go down 4-5 times... won't be able to recover.
@@MBZMaster
Thanks!
WOW! Excellent explanation!
Is beeping loud? Is it constant? Does it go away if you buckle the seat? You need to find the source of beeping sound, exactly where it's coming from.
@@MBZMaster yes my car have cruise control and limit with it as well, but I have checked everything and it was not that as well.
I'm not talking about cruise control. There's another feature Speed Limit Assist that can be turned off in the Settings.
Awesome tips! Explains so much!
Thank you so much
Excellent knowledge
This is a very good video.
Thank you this has solved my problem.
I had it on my Toyota Yaris 2006. It was a nice feature and now unfortunately I don’t have it in my E350e.
ML 63 from 2014 and thanks for the tip
Very educational. What about if I put my keyless in the car? Will it drain too?
Yes, if you watch the whole video, I mentioned "Do not leave your SmartKey inside the car."
@@MBZMaster oh shit i gotta warn my dad. Thanks for the info sir!
What was the reason for dead battery? When you start your car in the morning, see if there's any hesitation. If not, you should be ok.
@@MBZMaster I have no idea why the battery is going dead. It wouldn’t crank again about an hour ago. I’ll put it back on the charger. So frustrating!
I think it's time to replace your battery for a new one.
@@MBZMaster I’m going to do that today. I hate to because of the expense, plus this battery is only 2 years old. Thank you! Wishing you a fantastic day! 😁
Brilliant instruction. Thanks.
ghosts drinking the battery juice 🤣🤣🤣
master: Great video, many thanks!
Unrelated question: I drive a S212 when I go golfing. When I sit in the trunk to change my shoes, often the lid closes prematurely, maybe after two minutes, before I'm done. How can I prevent this from happening? Many thanks.
What model year?
Thanks for the good advice! One question: how to turn keyless go back on (MB GLB)?
As I showed in the video - double-click the lock button to disable the Keyless Go feature. Next time when you unlock the door - it will be activated automatically.
Excellent , thanks much appreciated.
@@howardleopold9887 No, they have too many models for a comprehensive manual.

Very informative thanks
First car with Keyless Go is a GLE450 4Matic 2021. Why is the low frequency signal activated by proximity to the car? Why is it not designed to emit the signal only after a button is pressed?
Keyless Go works without pressing buttons on the SmartKey. The car has to make a decision to unlock or keep it locked before you pull the door handle. Also, the car needs to sense the key when the car is off, when it's on, and even while you drive. So communication is not momentary but constant.
