    Had to comment - I’m doing Indian wells too (my first triathlon) and have been sick for the last 3weeks. I tried to keep training and I screwed myself over… prolonged what would have been a week. Was just trying to find videos to make me feel better. We are in this together 😂 good luck dude!

    Love the vlog Ari, gogogo! That Jason Ross tune is epic, thanks for the tip. It's incredible how much stored energy there is in music, just waiting to release, and doing cardio while listening is such a perfect trigger for it.

    Bravo! I got my first dose of covid in September. I only run and actually felt okay jogging in less than a week (still positive) but truth be told, the first time I could properly attack the hills was more 4 weeks later...

    Hey Ari,
    I do my own mix exactly like that. Malto, fructose and sodium citrate.
    When you premix the batch like that how can you be sure the portions are correct? I’ll always make sure I mix it in the bottle to get it exact. But if you mix a big batch in the bag like that how do you know ou are getting more fructose or more malto.

    Keep maltodextrin and fructose separately, it's the ONLY way for mixing up in perfect 1:0.8 ratio.

    So what do you think helped you the most with your bike ? Lower cadence or those very long very easy sessions ? I sometimes do these 100-105 bpm hr longer sessions and later wonder if I have anything from it 😅😂 but I always had a feeling that great runners as you only need to work on their strength and muscle endurance on the bike to be great bikers as well..so lower cadence would be my guess for your improvement 😀

    • @archmdz
      @archmdz  8 месяцев назад +1

      A lot of high end to raise VO2max (like 5 months of mostly VO2/upper threshold work with less LT1/LT2 sort of stuff earlier in the year and then now a transition to lots of tempo/threshold which improves very quickly when there’s a high ceiling. I think that’s 80% of it or more. Low cadence work and lots of easy volume certainly both helped in this case, those 100-105bpm sessions are doing a lot if you’re doing lots of it (15+ hours)

    • @goranklempic1286
      @goranklempic1286 8 месяцев назад

      Interesting 😀 I have trouble holding higher HR on the bike because my legs usually give up much faster than my cardio so I always thought that I am missing muscular endurance and strength and tried working on that. But maybe I should also do more high end workouts 😅 Thanks for the reply 😀

    • @archmdz

      Sam might be the only exception currently in the top 10. Lionel and Skipper also world class and self-coached in the top 30. Trevor Foley would be but he also recently got a coach.
