      I am already thinking about stopping just a few weeks in. Once it builds up in your system, you hold onto quite a bit more water weight so yes it's "weight gain" but I'm not very concerned about shaving weight for triathlon racing. More important to be very powerful. I'm just finding it quite hard to actually stay hydrated because of all the extra water required.

    • @lanbroghini
      @lanbroghini Месяц назад

      I'm not going to cite anything but my understanding is it may be helpful as an energy source for high intensity exercise (help with speed workouts). Also could help build strength in the gym. I've also read some hypothesis where increased water retention may help for hydration purposes in endurance events. Don't know if these benefits outset the weight gain.

      @@conradleesanders4321 I agree it seems to be a largely unsolved problem for endurance athletes and probably doesn't resolve in faster times. This review paper is interesting though (www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC10132248/). Suggestion of lower stress markers and faster recovery as well as being potentially beneficial in races where pace changes or if there is a final kick. I think it is interesting and athlete goal specific whether to experiment with it.

    Does cycling upright really save watts compered to TT position? I know being indoors means wind resistance is absent which might affect the comparison outside but it still surprises me...

    • @archmdz
      @archmdz  2 месяца назад +1

      In my experience, it’s a little harder to do the same watts in TT position on the trainer although in all honestly I think it’s probably pretty even for me now that I’m very used to it. I doubt the numbers would have been very different if I had been able to TT but historically it’s a bit harder (and most people probably have similar experience to me) which is why I said it.

    Not a pro athlete so take my advice as you wish but taking a substance and putting it in your body and not knowing why or what it does is probably something you should reconsider.
    Biochemically creating has been proven to help with explosive efforts in anaerobic training. However you can gain 2-5lbs in water weight alone and it won’t increase your aerobic performance much. It can help with your lift training but tbh the science does not support its use in endurance athletes . Secondly,“athletes putting substances in their body and not knowing what it is or why” this is a dangerous slope to trusting others with a little to much trust. If you’re going to put a supplement in your body for the sake of performance. Understanding what it is is important to 1: maximize its usage to get the benefits it can yield you and 2: avoid possible banned substances.
    Just a thought, again not a pro athlete just an avid age grouper trying to join you on the pro playing field soon. Speedy recovery btw, bouta watch the rest of the video 💪

      Normally I agree but like I said, my nutrition coach is the one who suggested it and I trust his advice. He has worked with many other pros (including Frodeno) so for the most part, I'll at least give things he suggests a try and see how it works for me. I'm familiar with the concept of creatine for endurance sports, I just don't have the knowledge to explain in depth *why* it has a benefit so I won't bother on youtube.
