I've been hearing Madlib talk about a continuation of Madvillainy for over a decade, and I still get chills at the thought of it being released.

I heard that he had dropped Egon as his manager and hired Stacy Epps. I hope we will get more music from him.
Although I love Egon, I do feel that he made Madlib’s relationship with Stones Throw more difficult. They are more like record collector buddies rather than a manager and artist relationship, and Madlib caught onto that.

I understand Talib is the rapper, but all I wanted to do was hear more Madlib. We rarely hear anything about the guy and I feel like he gets cut off before he goes in depth about anything here.

Interesting when Madlib says he’s cut everyone off and he’s doing everything himself now. That pretty much all but confirms that him and Egon aren’t business partners anymore and prob aren’t on good terms.
Egon just released a video the other day and Madlib was in it. It looked new. Maybe they still hang but not as business partners.

"Imagine a Netflix for podcasts" yeah dude I'm imagining it and it's fucking up everything that's good about podcasts. I can get all my podcasts in one app because they're not tied to individual streaming services. Anyone can just make one and throw it on a public directory and everyone can listen to it, you don't need to deal with a Netflix or a Spotify or any other corporate entities, that's what makes them good.

Here Madlib says he's always kept in touch with DOOM, whereas in an interview he did along with Gibbs I think, he sort of implied DOOM hits HIM up once a year asking for beats. In retrospect, maybe out of respect for Gibbs he didn't want to make the interview about his past collaboration/partnership with DOOM, when they had an ongoing thing and did that interview together.
Well said, that could be the reason why. Speaking of Freddie Gibbs, I wonder if we're still gonna get that "Montana" project by Gibbs and Madlib in the future.
@@vexotimmer2675 Something tells me it's not coming, or if it is, not anytime soon. Madlib didn't even mention it in passing when Rosenberg asked what he's been cooking up. Personally I'm a little bored of Gibbs and I'm now looking forward to Madlib x YOD.

Shouldn't be about the money, but I get it. When you feel like you've been getting robbed the last 20 plus years. If I'm being honest black star album would have went platinum if they put it in spotify. Should be about the music, which I've heard this messaged preached by the same artists putting a pay wall on their music lol. I get it tho and I'm willing to pay to listen to 3 of my favorite artists. Maybe I'm wrong, I don't think I am, but black star and liberation 2 would be so much more successful if they digitally distributed it.
