Ted Poley from Danger Danger talks about his ROCK SCENE

- Danger Danger singer Ted Poley actually got his start in music as a drummer. Before he owned a drum set he would beat on pillows with drumsticks in his bedroom. Eventually, Ted sold his baseball card collection and bought himself a drum set. The first band in which he really established himself as a drummer was Prophet. After singing during a sound check at a gig in Brooklyn, he was approached by bassist Bruno Ravel. He was asked to be the singer for the band Danger Danger. Ted was apprehensive about being a singer but agreed to record some demos for the band. Danger Danger ended up getting a record deal, and Bruno convinced Ted to remain as the singer. “Danger Danger was a fun, awesome band. You can tell he was a drummer. He's got that manic energy that good drummers have. But I'm really glad he stepped up to the mic because he's an incredible singer. That one "whoa-oh-oh" part toward the end of 'I Still Think About You' still makes me smile every time I hear it. He's great on stage, too! Just a fantastic frontman.
Awesome underrated band! So many great songs could have been released as singles "One step from paradise", "Feels like love", "Rock America", "Don't blame it on love", "Everybody wants some".... should have been multi-platinum!!!!!!!!

@@Reverse_Spider_Parker_SH .I am currently up to date on Ted. I saw him as the M3 FESTIVAL. They were excellent. They went 2 to 3 times there. From minor stage to the main stage,😉😊💚🤘🤘🤘

Quite a few really great bands that came out right about 1990 that just barely missed out due to the changing climate. I met the danger danger guys when they opened for Extreme, I think it was Fall of 1990. Ted drew this goofy character on my denim jacket along with a signature, I wish I could tell you what happened to it. It'd be hilarious to bring it to him at a gig and say remember this? Lol

Ted, you will always be one of the coolest, most rocken cats,known to all rockers. It was nice when you visited my backyard of Maryland, at Merriweather post Pavillion, at the M3 FESTIVAL. I really appreciate, the maximum amount of energy, that you bring to the stage. I hope GOD will continue to smile on you,brother, 😉😊🤘💚. I just Ted's birthday is January 5th. We are both capricorn. Which is super awesome on many levels. Our birthdays are technically rear. I see in this interview. By personality, we are twins. And just to have launch,or,dinner, would be a pleasantly good time, 😉😊💚.

Easily as good as any 80s band that got the big break. Had it not been for the grunge I think Bon Jovi might have been opening for them lol.
