Ted has a great sense of humor
I LOVE Ted Poley, so fun! See you on next MORC : )
One of the best interviews ever on the channel!! Ted is a very kool guy!!! And a super talented singer!!! TMF is so great!!!
This is a great interview.Ted seems so cool and definitely likeable.I love that he loves everyone and being very humble and not throwing dirt on anyone 👊🤘
Brilliant band, great to hear those anecdotes.. You’ve just gotta love this Guy 😎
I got to meet and hang out with Ted and his guitar player friend on the original MOR Cruise back in 2012. Ted actually joined my wife and I for lunch and what a great time it was!
Ted is irresistible... never a boring conversation! You write your book; I am there!
Ted is awesome! You need to do another with him. Love to know more about bone machine ( the album cover for dissapearing inc for example) and his melodica/solo albums. He is a legend!
Love listening to Ted... so upbeat and great stories! Wizard of Oz music... wow. My family is from New York too. Used to own the land that the Aquaduct racetrack sits on. Thanks for another great interview!
Looks like Ted has a Hot Wheels collection on the wall.
The Defiants’ albums are fantastic. One of the best bands out of the Frontiers stable.
Really cool to hear Kenny Dubman mentioned. I became friends with him when he had a charter fishing boat in the Highlands N.J. Never knew his music career ran so deep. He is a really cool dude and deserves alot more fame.
Ted has the life force energy of ten men.
“Maybe they stuttered” lmao great interview Jason and Ted 👍🤘🤘
Ted always puts me in a good mood.. Great interview ❤
Had that record dude!, think I cut it off a box of honeycombs! 😂
I got a conntact high hahahah. Look forward to seeing you both onboard the ship!
Brilliant interview. You need to do more stuff with Ted Poley. Like Stevie Rachelle, he has so much to say and so many contacts and stories and opinions. One of those kind of people you could just do a spur of the moment video call with and get great content.
Thanks Jason- Love that guy. Great interview- real life people
What a great interview! Slow Down by Prophet is definitely Wanted Dead or Alive by Bon Jovi. Jon owes royalties. Haha. Ted Poley is a great fucking guy! Amazing human!
Ted's album Modern Art is incredible! Fantastic production and really catchy songs! Another great interview Jason! No other interviewer can touch you!
Let's not exaggerate here. Jason indeed does a fantastic job, but there are others that do a great job as well.
@@jms980 I'm not exaggerating. I can finally watch an interviewer that asks the hard questions about artists that I want to know. He is hands down my favorite interviewer.
SCREW IT is still one of my favorite albums.
The Tony 'Bruno' Rey connection with Saraya is interesting. Maybe try to interview him or Sandi Saraya?? Those two Saraya albums are absolutely brilliant.
Great interview Saw Danger Danger w/ Ted they were doing pop up shows with a stage set up on a semi truck trailer. Ted is a self promoting machine!! Gotta respect his hustle 💯
Glad he mentioned playing drums in Prophet. I have 2 LPs. No body would believe me that he was the same guy! Beat the Bullet ... Tony Bruno Saraya connection ❣... can't wait to hear the rest! Saw Andy jam a instrumental version of Beatles in 2019 with Paul Gilbert in Dallas. Saw him sitting at the bar, said "Man, I haven't seen you since Danger Danger"!?! Not what I meant to say but I hope he understood I was a fan and he knew I was Star Struck. Believe me, I geeked on Tony Mac Alpine 10x as hard on his "Freedom to Fly" tour at Dallas City Limits. Great vocals, song structure, guitarist's, vocals. Still have my cassettes. There ain't no busines like monkey business. Thanks Jason! 🖖
I didn't know that Bruno came from White Lion! I only know him from D2! :)
A great interview! Ted has a personality for sure and he is a great performer. Tokyo motor fist has two great albums.
He mentioned Bruno's band The defiants.... They will be putting out their third album and for the record Steve West played on their first two albums. Amazing stuff!
I got into Tokyo Motor Fist through this. Great albums!
Great interview! I remember seeing 'PROPHET' at small venues in Northern NJ, upstate NY, etc.! 'Circus Circus' in Bergenfield was a fun place to see so many of these bands, including 'TT Quick', whose vocalist now sings for 'ACCEPT'! Great great memories!
Prophet should have done way better. Any insight as to why they didn't?
Screw it is A PHENOOOOMENAL ALBUM!
Great interview! Loved it and learned a few things!
Thanks for the cool interview. I loved Screw It. That album had a great upbeat feeling. But how weird is the communication between members … why can’t people just sort shit out and play.
Thanks, I’m glad you enjoyed it! Weird for sure
❤️ Ted! Thank You Jason!
Ted Poley should be singing for Poison, and for Ace Frehley. May 25, 2023. USA.
RATT did have a ballad. Closer To My Heart. Unfortunately they never released it as a single.
Actually had a couple. Giving Yourself Away was another
Now I definitely want to go see Ted!!
OMG on Prophet "Slow Down.' There are 4 related comments since this interview came out. That is crazy!?!
Great Interview!!! Learned a few new things but as far as the Screw It Album cover art, I was showing people how it looked like she was riding the ape with monkey buisness from way back!!! lol Everything Danger Danger can be seen in two different views, to me anyway lol thought they did it on purpose like a choose your own adventure type a thing, look at it in a clean way or a dirty way, hence the two name thing, Danger Danger, Naughty Naughty, Bang Bang!!! Haha idk but i always loved thinking that anyway. Ted is one of the greatest Singers of all time imo. The song I Still Think About You actually saved my life at one point. Andy is such a great Guitarist My Fav of all time, and Bruno and Steve, great Bass player & Drummer as well as great song writing!!! Casey was a great keyboardist as well and so cool for Ted to mention them all!!! Jason, great job again on Interviewing one of the greats!!! You asked great questions and Ted answered superbly!!! Rock it on my brothers!!!
Great job Jason... Thanks!
❤❤❤❤❤ thanks Jason
Good High energy interview!, Ted is a real card lol. Really liked the interview👍
Hey Tedward Van Poley - isn’t it about time for the Melodica reunion tour? 😜
Great interview...love Danger Danger and Tokyo motor first
ted used to be the dj at a go-go bar that I used to go to, with my older buddy dean paul fragola, think it was Parsippany, NJ
what about heavier bands to interview?
I wish he would do an US tour soon
Jason looks like he is going to fall asleep.
Listen to bang bang and You give Love a bad name and then you'll see an exact replica.... Even down to the breakdown and chorus.
Lived in Hackensack, NJ and so did a certain slasher…
Where’s the Taime Downe interview you teased?
Proof that Adderall is sometimes really really needed.
What a nice cool guy😎
I still think about you! I love that song!
Takeaways:
1. He looks much younger than 61, good for him!
2 Learned about Tokyo Motor Fist through this, and they are a great band! Tons of solid songs across 2 albums!
3. Jason saw Danger Danger a bunch of times... He gives off a vibe that he would be too cool for school for this genre.
4. I appreciated the Prophet stories.
5. It would be awesome to get a prophet band member on here!
Good stuff as usual
I still think about you, is right up there with love of a life time, or bed of roses, or heaven, or home sweet home. For a ballad.
Great interview that is one cool cat right there
DD’s first album had two legitimate songs that could have been their hit ballad. Such a shame.
Ted, odd question, but if you happen to read this, what watch are you wearing?
Ratt had ballads Jason. Atlantic just didn't use them as singles
Closer To My Heart (Invasion)
There was one on Reach for the Sky that was utterly terrible
There were two songs on Detonator that could be "ballads"
Jason your KISS take on Forever is flawed.
They were on Mtv b4 that.
They were not on radio in any significant way.
Forever put them on Top 40 radio.
That's was his point about Forever. It catapulted them back into the mainstream casual lister consciousness.
Closer to the heart didn't follow the traditional ballad format, and that's what they needed to get to the next level. However, I don't think it hurt them that much as they would probably be in the same spot as they are now.
Let's Get Naughty Naughty Down N Dirty
Some of the dumbest lyrics are in that song, lol
@@jms980 That's their Entire Catalog

TED RULES,
Ted's timing is off. Grunge had not exploded yet when 'Screw It' came out.
Grunge was there waiting, but it had not blown up into the tsunami yet.
Sorry, I just did A-B slow down and wanted..I think the only similarity is it's played on a 12 string, I don't hear it.
It's definitely different, but I do think Jon ripped it off. He had to go back home and remember it the best he could and it ended up sounding like Wanted....
Is this guy here is all over the place
What ever happened to Robert Marcello ?
He is on the new defiants album
Screw it was their best album I think.
Algorithm
Every other word out of this guy's mouth is how much money he's "owed". Why would he get royalties on the Danger Danger songs....he didn't write any of it!
Was trying to put together a two guitar Yngwie type Priest Band together in 88 here in California ŕan across a phenomenal guitarist named Dan Stokes from Pasiac and he taught me that all the guys in New York and Jersey were just as hard as anything going down on the L.A side loved Danger Danger
Greetings from Portugal...While serving in the Navy overseas I would come across interesting Album covers and take a chance on the CD...Danger Danger first album was it...Played the shit out that cd and still have it my collection today...Enjoyed the second record as well...The whole band was really tight...Never got a chance to see them live, however watching the live performance in Japan shows they got the skills...I know Ted has played here in Portugal at the Casino in Estoril, was not able to catch the gig...If you are ever back in town...Would love to buy you a beer! Enjoyed the music over the years! Keep on Rocking! 🇵🇹🎸🥁🎤✌️🤘🤠
