- We sat down with Finnish gothic rock icon Ville Valo to discuss his new solo album, his thoughts on goth and working with sheep for his Loveletting music video!

When I was 14 I even had his poster on my wall,
He was like my Elvis Presley lol and I loved HIM.

I can't believe you got to interview Ville! I met him back in 2004ish at a HIM signing in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and he seemed very shy. I still cherish my autographed poster, he was such an icon. It's so great to see him so talkative. Great interview guys! 🖤🖤🖤

That time period where Bam ruled MTV and heartagrams were everywhere was such an important cultural moment for alternative people. Literally influenced a whole generation!! Ville is such an icon!

HIM has been my fav band for over 20 years now and im so fkn happy that he is back making music again. Amazing interview with three gorgeous people :) Just wish that the sound would have been alittle better since the microphone picked up all the background noise so made it alittle hard to hear well at times. Neon Noir is perfection and my fav song on that album is Vertigo Eyes.
Just saw V in Salt Lake City last weekend and I really hope he tours again asap!! Already need another show he and the band were phenomenal. 💛

You must be so proud of your country! For me Finnish metal bands are the best because they are not too industrial. I met some finnish tourists when I was a receptionist and they were my favourite clients. They usually gave me and my team boxes of black liquourish. I guess it is a traditional treat in Finland.

Oh respect starting with interviews. Especially respect for connor telling us last time he is so nervous with people and then interviewing a goth favorite ;) but i guess being an artist yourself feels different than randos on street.
Watched HIM/him *g in one of their first small concerts in germany back then, gosh they were soooo drunk on jägermeister. But it was a nice show.
Miss talking to artists backstage at festivals, most are relaxed interesting people if you treat them like normal people(some are corrupted by fame and awful tho *g)

Wow, you really met him! You're so lucky! I used to party at times with the original keyboard player of HIM(we lived in the same city). I'm so happy that Ville is doing so great nowadays, he seems so happy and motivated.

I love the new album. Salute the sanguine hit me like a ton of bricks, with the line 'ferociously Beautiful you are. I was going through a rough time in my life and my relationship with my bf was falling apart, i was feeling particularly useless and weak. It hit me so hard that i got Ferociously Beautiful tattooed on my forearms, as my daily reminder that i am worthy of love.
I saw him Thursday night in Nashville... oh my God it was amazing. Over 20 years i waited to see him live... i was never able to see h.i.m. live.

I had the same experiance with this album. I had to look up so many words. having to look up some words and mythology has always been a thing with HIM albums.. this time it was just more. and getting into the meanings and contexts of the words... I was surprised that "lupricalia" didn't make an apearance.
