I hope bookstores stay a thing. I love going into book stores, the smell, the quietness. Helps ease your mental health and anxiety. Reading not only makes you relax, but also makes you more intelligent, it broadens your vocabulary.
Lyrically, he expresses his thoughts precisely, he is a well-read gentleman, it is captivating to listen to his speech and insights, the way he sums up the various topics with emotion... not least because of the timbre of his voice.
Finally an interview with different questions than usual. I had the impression that Ville was having fun too, because he almost overtook himself when speaking lol
I don't subscribe to newsletters. but if Ville had a bookrecommendation newsletter... I'd subscribe to that. and now more than ever, I feel I'd just love to sit down with him and some tea and talk. I relate to too much he says.
He seems very sharp. Turned into a positive role model. I imagine him living in a castle so I wouldn’t be surprised if he had an old fashioned bath tub.
@@pitilessnightmare6879 That's true and actually quite normal if it weren't as extreme as it was with him. A cola drinker, alcoholic and nicotine addict became an extreme health fanatic who no longer even drinks caffeinated coffee 😆 It's his business, I just find it a bit strange 😉
I find him a bit strange.. Especialy last two or three years or so.. Like,, I mean his face, his skin, whole body posture even his voice has changed. Don't get me wrong. I stil like him, but he's not the same person anymore.

Well done for the editor including images of the subject matter you both mentioned (albums, books, artists). Can we please request more interviews centering around books with Mr Valo? I found this well crafted and informative. English is my third language. (Spanish and Greek are my first), so I’d love to hear Mr Valo’s journey into reading works in English, if he does choose to read works in English or Finnish and how does that shift his perspective? Currently I’m discovering the world of Sayaka Murata, highly recommend Convenience Store Woman is very well crafted and of course The Remains of the Day by Mr Ishiguro.
Thanks for your thoughts! I like to include imagery in these interviews to enhance the experience. Hopefully, he and I will get to chat about books again.
Thank you so much for that chat, watching it made my day - I’ve moved from country to country in the past 10 years and the only constant in my luggage were my books (I would also leave clothes behind to fit books in!), only to be judged by people as a collector and not a reader, which is not the truth. I can totally identify with what Ville said about being stuck on one page because your thoughts went wild… Sometimes I take 6 months to finish a book, but after that chat I won’t feel bad about it anymore! And I’ll keep raising my small library! 🖤 I’ve read a lot of great books, including previous mentions by Ville in old interviews, but to this day nothing topped Bram Stoker’s Dracula for me. I’ve read it in my native language and in the original English twice! Totally agree that each person needs to find their own reads.
"...playing the first concerts that were played on radio..." as he said. Another huge advancement in sound, Ville, was our mutual idol Elvis Presley. He was the first solo entertainer to hold a "live concert broadcast internationally via satellite" on Jan 14, 1973. Don't ask me how old I was, you won't believe me but I remember it. 🖖😎🖤🖤
Very interesting Interview though i've never read or heard of some of these books. Once i've tried H.P. Lovecraft but i think it went right over my head. Congrats to all who are having a better understanding in that.
Sorry, but I just have to disagree with you because the word "understand" seems odd to me. There are books that fascinate you immediately. Sometimes it's the writing style, sometimes the story, sometimes the images that burn deep into your soul. But there are also books that you can't do anything with because they don't capture you. I don't think that has anything to do with understanding and, by the way, it's exactly the same with music, paintings or every art 😀
@@Adrijana_91 Probably wear a wig so all he'd have to do is take it off when he goes to short hair though he'd have to dye it. Plus since Sweden and Finland are neighbouring counties it might be easier for him to nail the accent
we all need audiobooks voiced by Ville, why hasn't this idea come to anyone's mind yet?🙃
Yeeeessss ❤I love his voice
Ahh no! Theese dentures ruined his speaking fluency
he talks like he has paper lump in his mouth
Ok when he mentions the smell of 📚 books-
I totally relate
He’s officially the coolest guy ever

Yes!!
And they're the shops you can go into and the workers mostly leave you be.
We need like 100,000 men in country like Ville. World would be a better place. He's divine in every aspect.

Vile is everything: brains, looks and class!
He kind of looks like a skull. Like jack skellington.
Honestly, one of the best interviews I've ever seen with a musician.
Thank you so much. I'm glad you liked it! It's always nice when you have a bond with the musician.

Warm bath with Epsom salt and a hint of patchouli ❤ Love your sensitive nature, Ville. I see you ☀️🙏
As a fan of books, I found this interview very fun and interesting. Definitely going to put the books mentioned at 15:28 on my reading list!
One of the best interviews with Ville
Thank you so much. I think it was unusual for him to not talk mostly about music, but once we got going he really got into it.
what a joy to learn Ville loves Mariana Enriquez as much as me 🥰
He seems very sharp. Turned into a positive role model. I imagine him living in a castle so I wouldn’t be surprised if he had an old fashioned bath tub.
Unfortunately, the "castle times" (he lived in a tower for a long time) are over, because he now lives in a rather boring-looking, modern, large house

🫶 What a beautiful character ❤
Ville speaks so eloquently 🥰
What a lovely little chat, very intriguing! Thank you 🖤 Should've been way longer though 😁
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. Maybe he and I will chat about books again in the future!
"It's my 'hood', so to speak." I never thought Ville would ever use that word, but I love it!😂😂❤

Great interview ❤ a different type than most people do
that was awesome! thx a lot! i wish it lasted longer.
Thank you! It was piggybacked onto an interview for another media outlet, so I squeezed out as much as I could. Hopefully, we'll chat again.
interessing and passionnante interview... thank you👋🙂
I love books as well. He’s lovely
Ville seems very genuine and articulate here, I wouldn't have guessed.

Agreed. Dracula is underrated as a book.
i’ve got many more books on my to-read list now. it’s nice to see kin in the way i like the quiet of the bath and the smell of books

I'm not familiar with a lot of European authors, will check out all these books and authors listed😊

Ville! 😍
Thanks for sharing 🖤
This has got to be the most articulate and interesting musician I have ever heard (along with Chris Cornell❤).
Its amazing! When a read Mariana Enriquez last year i think in Ville Valo! Its so cool!

Try an audio book before, specially the History of the recorded sound 400/500 pages?? It makes all sense
