This man should have lived longer. I know his death was a last minute decision but god damn potentially seeing Merle going from a racist selfish asshole to an asset of the group would have been amazing and if he died later it would have been ok.
I love Merle, this will forever be my favorite Rooker performance. I bawled when he died, his redemption arc was pretty good, who knows what could have been if he'd continued. Then again, we wouldn't have Yondu, so I'm glad things turned out the way they did.
