I made it into chaffles. I laid down cooked bacon (I was having a "bacon emergency") in the waffle maker and got it crispy before i poured in the batter. 1 egg, 1 of cream cheese and 1 T butter 1 strips of bacon, made 2 chaffles. Topped with a bit of butter. Yum!
For an even better treat that tastes like actual french toast, dip the egg loaf slices in a mixture of heavy cream and beaten egg, then fry in butter until browned. I add vanilla and cinnamon to the egg and cream mixture but it's not necessary. Then top with sugar free maple syrup like Maple Grove Farms, and add a dab or two of whipped cream, either homemade or sugar free Redi Whip. Divine!
I add cinnamon, sweetener, and maple extract to the batter and spread butter on top. I also have added a couple tablespoons of oat fiber on regular keto; makes it a little sturdier so I grab a slice as I go out. Until I was able to try ChocZero I hadn't found a decent sugar-free syrup. For my pan I do 8-10 eggs and 8oz cream cheese, but still 4 butter, but I put butter on my slice. 😊

It’s like a cross between flan and cheesecake and I added pumpkin pie spice, 3 tablespoons or swerve brown sugar and vanilla inside and put lots of cinnamon on top. It’s great hot and spectacular cold. I can’t stop eating it and it’s pretty caloric so I may just have to do an egg fast so I can justify it. Thanks a million I love this!!!
Nice....I have had a weight battle since I stopped working physically demanding jobs in the bush, followed at first with academics then office work had me balloon to 460 lbs on a 6' 6" frame...I was so unhealthy that I opted for a Rou en Y gastroplexy some years back and lost an incredible amount of weight.....then over a decade I went from around 190 lbs up to 285. I was feeling bloated, my knees and hips hurt all of the time, I had limited enregy and was taking painkillers all of the time. I started to look seriously at a carnivore diet and started almost three months back. To date I have dropped to just under 220 lbs and feel awesome, stopped taking blod pressure and diuretic meds and wish I had learned of this years ago. So thanks for the recipes and showing how your weight has dropped off. Oh....also a Canadian here. Quick tip on cream cheese....just make your own with whole milk and kefer grains.
Yes, I do want to venture out to make some cream cheese since we Canadians are short on clean dairy options! Amazing results, I am 66 feeling better than when I was 26! I wish I had known too!
My first attempt is in the oven now. Baking was always something I enjoyed and being on carnivore really put that to an end. Hopefully this recipe will be delicious and will let me bring baking back into my life. ❤️
I keep a silicone bag of your cream cheese muffins in my freezer, my favorite are steak and egg muffins, when I catch thin sliced ribeye on sale. Thank you Anita. ❤ I am able to use extracts they have no oxalates just ordered cinnamon to try.
Oh I haven't had this in a long time. I used to make it and then make an egg custard to use it as the bread in a bread and butter pudding. Might have to make this again soon.for my family.
@@JazzyMamaInAK The custard was just a modified standard egg custard made to a keto one. 4 egg yolks, 2 tblspns of sweetener of choice. Whisks together until pale. Add to a saucepan. Heat over heat stirring continuously. Add 1 cup of cream 1/4 cup at a time, mixing in well before adding next 1/4 cup. Bring to boil. Remove from heat, stirring until thickened. Add Vanilla essence, powder or extract or whatever you use. Stir through. When making the pudding - add slices of the egg loaf to a small baking dish, overlapping egg piece (maybe look up what a bread and butter pudding looks like for reference). If you use cinnamon sprinkle a little on the 'bread' pieces. Pour custard over it. Bake 180°C until browned and custard is set. It has been a while so it may be 15- 20 mins but I cut remember so just watch it every 5 mins or so.

I followed your base recipe, but added pumpkin pie spice in the blender instead of on top, I love vanilla powder so I used 2 teaspoons, and I added 1 tablespoon of monk fruit w/Erythritol. Also love Kelly’s version of a sponge cake which is similar (double these proportions) but the eggs are first separated, (yolks & cream cheese together) & whipped to death then folded gently together, so it’s super light & fluffy. Amazing! I’ve had SAD people at work try it and accuse me of cheating because they can’t believe it’s lighter & more delicious than their traditional SAD sponge cake! I have always loved French toast so thank you thank you thank you! I will never feel deprived of bread again. lol ❤

I'm testing this out in the instantpot bake function. I never have used it before. I put on cheesecake settint for 20 min. Will see how it comes out. Its in a bowl because I didnt have anything else lol.

Yolks in hot coffee or broth are so delish-makes it rich tasting in the coffee. I add 3 yolks to 2c coffee w/2T butter for a breakfast, also I eat along with it 1oz hard cheese for protein & calcium. The broth gets a sort of eggy taste that is yummy. I do same ratios, and the butter, as the coffee. Or can u stomach 1 white with 3-4 yolks for a scramble? Without the whites it’s hard to do a regular recipe with eggs.

UH-OH…just reread your recipe and I mistakenly added 4 oz of butter rather than 4 Tblsp. That could have accounted for the overly salty flavor and high (fat) macros…but it was still great!

I’ve been doing 2 miles and pickled1 egg breakfast went to doctor last class for fracture my X ray looked good didn’t want to be smelly Lunch 1 egg picked in jalapeño brine 1 anchovy I sardine walked two miles sardine can/ anchovie can picked egg shrimp in clam juice. (Finished high protein for bones).
Forgot to say doing egg seafood week but high protein too. Will try this in AM with regular eggs probably as a pancake or in the waffle maker like someone suggested.
Can this be made more savory maybe with bacon bits or sausage crumbles grd beef Ps would have to maybe reconnoiter the macros I think unless it’s consider carni??
I used to make a recipe like this several years ago. I think the recipe was by #ketosamiam. After baking and cooling, I’d slice it and then pan fry the slices in butter. To me, it made it even more like French toast! Thank you for reminding me about this!!! 🥰

Also good to fry the batter in butter as crepes, butter can be omitted from the batter.

sardine can/ anchovie can picked egg shrimp in clam juice. (Finished high protein for bones).
Forgot to say doing egg seafood week but high protein too. Will try this in AM with regular eggs probably as a pancake or in the waffle maker like someone suggested.

@@KetogenicWoman Dairy with lactose is a weight magnet for me sardines with high minerals is much better. Found out my titanium insert weighs 5 lbs.

I used to make a recipe like this several years ago. I think the recipe was by #ketosamiam. After baking and cooling, I’d slice it and then pan fry the slices in butter. To me, it made it even more like French toast! Thank you for reminding me about this!!! 🥰

Yes, I used to make this with extract. I would use 1 tsp and you can change the flavor by using different extracts.
