The first episode was amazing. Not boring, full of exciting scenes but not over done. Full of information i felt hungry for after GoT. I was afraid they would try too hard to meet the expectations of GoT fans but luckily i was wrong. They didnt. They simply didnt even have to. It was all just perfectly natural, everything on its place. Actors did great. Im looking forward to next episodes 😍
I already like Daemon. He really does bring about the morally grey character and you can see that he actually loves his brother. Despite the heir apparent thing. I'm excited to see his character's growth. Kudos to Matt Smith! 🔥

God this show is like season 4 of game of thrones in terms of action and anxiety it causes the viewer I imagine I’ll be on the edge of my seat all season, the writing was on point the camera shots were intense this is the next big thing BRAVO

I was a little worried when I heard the casting as I have only seen him in a couple of things and he was always a good guy in them. Absolutely no need though he was excellent.
I cannot stress enough how much society needed this dub of a premiere. Having a show for us to globally rejoice in every week was a gift that we didn’t know we had in GOT until it was gone. Knock on wood, we might have that again in this show 🙏🏻

Episode 1 of House of the Dragon was very visually pleasing and the entire cast potentialised my positive opinion upon them with their amazing charisma. I'm in love with how Caraxes and Syrax were subtly involved in the first episode and, oh Lord, how lovely it is to see Rhaenyra and Daemon flying with their dragons. Ramin Djawadi is brilliant and his song playing towards the last minutes of episode 1 was fascinating. The fact that the first episode is quite short embitters me a lot haha. I can't wait for next Sunday to watch House of the Dragon on HBO Max at 10pm here in Brazil❤🇧🇷

What I'd love is for this series to take a few years to allow George to finally finish Winds of Winter. This could then allow for a re-telling of the original series within this new timeline. Divorced from the GoT series, called A Song of Ice and Fire where we get the true version of the books and a true ending worthy of the story.
That would be great, although they definitely won't be doing a complete live action retelling unless it's like at least 15 years from now sadly. He has to complete winds and the a dream of spring first.

The reason why is GRRM stopped working with the show, they ran out of book material to work with and D&D didn't have the talent to finish the story on their own. With HOTD D&D are gone, GRRM is back working with the show and the books are completed.
This is how you're doing an epic fantasy adaptation. You create an immersion, by creating a great story. Sticking to the original book and getting a perfect cast. All that Amazon didn't do with the Wheel of Time, and as we can see, they really didn't change a thing with the War of the Rings.
At the end, when they conluded with GoT score, it almost made me feel cry ! so nostaligic ! Glad to be alive to watch this creation ( and trying to pay bills on time..lol...)

The Scene when Viserys talks to Rhaenyra Blew me Away. The fact that Aegon knew the Long Night would happen 300 before hand, it explains why he Conquered the Seven Kingdoms. To bring them together against what was to come.
He didnt know when the long night would actually happen, just like Daenerys* dream of Valerian being destroyed only occurred a few years later, there wasnt a time limit in the prophecy

Every first episode of a series should be graded on a curve IMO - I've rarely ever liked a pilot episode of a series, even the all time great shows. But this was truly fantastic. If this is episode 1... this series could rival or exceed the original GOT
I agree. I told my husband I'm not usually a fan of pilots and first seasons altogether as they're hard to follow with so many characters and storylines to learn but this one had a great pace and clear linear plot.

The show looks CLEAN. I think of the Targaryens like Jedis in the SW prequels. This is their heyday when dragons flew around and wasn't a rarity. Then Targaryens became rare like Jedis.
Felt like I was home having a big hug. A brilliant start and I'm beyond excited for more. I loved the opening with the dragon flying over the kingdom, reminding me of how it would be destroyed in the future, just brilliant. Seeing the Dragon pit in all its glory, just so much to enjoy. The Characters were great, with not too much given away but enough to keep me wanting to get to know them. A huge thankyou to everyone involved in the making.
First episode was amazing. Bloody, harsh, exciting with big moments. And man. I instantly recognized amazing Ramin Djawaldi's music in there. All that came together to deliver us Game of Thrones we all been waiting for.
Episode 1 was a total beauty, I knew Miguel Sapochnik was not going to disappoint, Kudos to Ramin Djawadi, his music is great as always, can't wait to hear the intro next week with episode 2 🔥

The emotions in syraxs face during the first scene and before she burned aemma and baelon says it all!!!! Damn the dragons will be dope and amazing if all dragons have different emotions like this. Syrax as said is friendly to humans and she kinda understood whom she was burning :( . RIP aemma and baelon. I know she died by childbirth but by viserys choice was heart wrenching but hey hard life hard choices.

Man this episode was great. Aemma's death was visceral and hard to watch, but those are the types of things that make this show/world fascinating. I'm pleasantly surprised and looking forward to next week. Can't wait to see more dragons! This was a damn good pilot! Excited for the rest of the series, my one complaint would be the addition of the white walker prophecy and the inclusion of the special dagger. Like, just keep any GoT season 8 nonsense away from the show and focus on the politics and morally complicated characters instead. I get they want to connect the shows together, that makes sense, but when they mentioned the long night I got a PTSD flashback to season 8 episode 3… focus on the your strengths House of the Dragon, not your burdened past!

In the books, it was the Ghost of High Heart who made the connection of The prince who was promised to the line of Aerys and Rhaella, that’s why King Jaehaerys insisted they marry. You’re right about it making sense in a Roberts Rebellion story, but is it also confirmed that King Viserys (and his predecessors) also knew about this? I don’t remember that from the books.

Everything you did wrong with GoT season 6-8, you corrected with House of the Dragon episode 1. This is pure GoT season 1-5 - or as some people called it: the very best of what made its predecessor the phenomenon it has been. I loved it and cant wait till the next episode!

I was a little worried when I heard the casting as I have only seen him in a couple of things and he was always a good guy in them. Absolutely no need though he was excellent.

I cannot stress enough how much society needed this dub of a premiere. Having a show for us to globally rejoice in every week was a gift that we didn’t know we had in GOT until it was gone. Knock on wood, we might have that again in this show 🙏🏻

Episode 1 of House of the Dragon was very visually pleasing and the entire cast potentialised my positive opinion upon them with their amazing charisma. I'm in love with how Caraxes and Syrax were subtly involved in the first episode and, oh Lord, how lovely it is to see Rhaenyra and Daemon flying with their dragons. Ramin Djawadi is brilliant and his song playing towards the last minutes of episode 1 was fascinating. The fact that the first episode is quite short embitters me a lot haha. I can't wait for next Sunday to watch House of the Dragon on HBO Max at 10pm here in Brazil❤🇧🇷

The day Ramin Djawadi launched "The Prince that was Promised" I listened to it on loop. And when it played towards the end of the first episode... Man did i get chills, man was i astonished by the quality of the pilot.

What I'd love is for this series to take a few years to allow George to finally finish Winds of Winter. This could then allow for a re-telling of the original series within this new timeline. Divorced from the GoT series, called A Song of Ice and Fire where we get the true version of the books and a true ending worthy of the story.
That would be great, although they definitely won't be doing a complete live action retelling unless it's like at least 15 years from now sadly. He has to complete winds and the a dream of spring first.
Episode 1 felt perfect, just like early GoT S1, keep up the good work!

@@Love2Cruise Very little chance of that happening. GOTs had a noticeable drop in quality after season 4. The reason why is GRRM stopped working with the show, they ran out of book material to work with and D&D didn't have the talent to finish the story on their own. With HOTD D&D are gone, GRRM is back working with the show and the books are completed.

This is how you're doing an epic fantasy adaptation. You create an immersion, by creating a great story. Sticking to the original book and getting a perfect cast. All that Amazon didn't do with the Wheel of Time, and as we can see, they really didn't change a thing with the War of the Rings.

The Scene when Viserys talks to Rhaenyra Blew me Away. The fact that Aegon knew the Long Night would happen 300 before hand, it explains why he Conquered the Seven Kingdoms. To bring them together against what was to come.
He didnt know when the long night would actually happen, just like Daenerys* dream of Valerian being destroyed only occurred a few years later, there wasnt a time limit in the prophecy

Every first episode of a series should be graded on a curve IMO - I've rarely ever liked a pilot episode of a series, even the all time great shows. But this was truly fantastic. If this is episode 1... this series could rival or exceed the original GOT
I agree. I told my husband I'm not usually a fan of pilots and first seasons altogether as they're hard to follow with so many characters and storylines to learn but this one had a great pace and clear linear plot.

The show looks CLEAN. I think of the Targaryens like Jedis in the SW prequels. This is their heyday when dragons flew around and wasn't a rarity. Then Targaryens became rare like Jedis.

Felt like I was home having a big hug. A brilliant start and I'm beyond excited for more.
I loved the opening with the dragon flying over the kingdom, reminding me of how it would be destroyed in the future, just brilliant. Seeing the Dragon pit in all its glory, just so much to enjoy.
The Characters were great, with not too much given away but enough to keep me wanting to get to know them.
A huge thankyou to everyone involved in the making.
First episode was amazing. Bloody, harsh, exciting with big moments. And man. I instantly recognized amazing Ramin Djawaldi's music in there. All that came together to deliver us Game of Thrones we all been waiting for.
Episode 1 was a total beauty, I knew Miguel Sapochnik was not going to disappoint, Kudos to Ramin Djawadi, his music is great as always, can't wait to hear the intro next week with episode 2 🔥

@@rosesweetcharlotte its all about having a son so make her suffer multiple times even though its been proven she cant have a healthy child anymore. Then when she and the baby dies the king is like "I always knew Rhaenyra should be queen" even though he has always disregarded her as far as succession is concerned.
@@launicamanera This sort of happened to my aunt. She is still alive and well, but she and my uncle kept trying for a boy even though my aunt kept having really difficult births. It was ridiculous. They kept having girls and my uncle really just was in complete denial about the whole thing.
@@rosesweetcharlotte That reminds me of someone I know too. A family friend. All he wanted was a son, because apparently having one daughter isn’t enough. He got with someone, she gave birth to a son. But the baby passed away a little while later so he left her. It’s truly bizarre, and quite cruel in my opinion.
Oh man it’s so refreshing to finally have something follow it’s source material again. Let Dune and now House of the Dragon be lessons for the future.
Good music, epic storyline, nice details and great casts. This was perfectly portrayed, as all series should be.

I know it sounds like hyperbole, but I genuinely think that this first episode of HotD was better than all of Season 8 and most of Seasons 5-7 of GoT. And it continues to look very promising.
It's true, this pilot stayed more true to the lore and it's characters focusing on humans and magic not doing fanservice for unnecessary reason. Also we got back the real politics scenes!!

The writing alone is such a step up from later GoT. Jesus, we have quote-worthy lines again! Very strong start to a series I was only cautiously optimistic about just 24 hours ago.
Man this episode was great. Aemma's death was visceral and hard to watch, but those are the types of things that make this show/world fascinating.
I'm pleasantly surprised and looking forward to next week. Can't wait to see more dragons!

This was a damn good pilot! Excited for the rest of the series, my one complaint would be the addition of the white walker prophecy and the inclusion of the special dagger. Like, just keep any GoT season 8 nonsense away from the show and focus on the politics and morally complicated characters instead. I get they want to connect the shows together, that makes sense, but when they mentioned the long night I got a PTSD flashback to season 8 episode 3… focus on the your strengths House of the Dragon, not your burdened past!
It's directly from GRRM. If this does well, and they get to do more stories, that should all tie into Rhaegar's plot in Robert's Rebellion.

In the books, it was the Ghost of High Heart who made the connection of The prince who was promised to the line of Aerys and Rhaella, that’s why King Jaehaerys insisted they marry. You’re right about it making sense in a Roberts Rebellion story, but is it also confirmed that King Viserys (and his predecessors) also knew about this? I don’t remember that from the books.

Everything you did wrong with GoT season 6-8, you corrected with House of the Dragon episode 1. This is pure GoT season 1-5 - or as some people called it: the very best of what made its predecessor the phenomenon it has been.
