yeah, makes things much easier. I went with thermalright phantom spirit 120SE ARGB. A little bit better than peerless assassin but both are the king of air cooling for the price.
I have 6 Thermalright fans in my case including an assassin cpu cooler and I have been super happy with them for over a year now, the low price scared me but no issues so far.
I just bought this cooler like a month ago and it’s been a godsend. Keeps my i7 at 70 degrees under load with cinebench and furmark running simultaneously
You just saved me bro, i made the rookie mistake of forgetting to take the sticker off the cooler and noticed when i came to your video for the fan clips
When copper or aluminum is exposed to air, a thin layer of oxidized metal forms on the surface, slightly reducing conductivity. This is why manufacturers place stickers on the contact points of heatsinks and CPUs. For better cooling, it is essential to remove the sticker before contacting it with your thermal paste
I was using the regular old Assassin 120 for a year before I got my most recent AIO and it performed just as good as my NH-D15, believe it or not. Thermaltake also makes liquid metal. They have a lot of good products and they're super cheap compared to the more expensive brand names, and perform just as well if not better. There's actually a lot of good cheap PC products you can get if you look around. I've been running Patriot Viper Steel ram for the last few years and I would never go back. A 2x8GB kit of 4000mhz CL16 ram goes for like $120 CDN which is cheaper than a lot of 3600 CL 18 kits from the more expensive brands, and I've gotten the Viper Steel sticks (at 1.5v) to 3866mhz CL14 and as high as 4400mhz CL16.
Awesome cooler, I've got the rgb white version of this, and use a carbonaught pad instead of paste, never get temps above 70 running 4.8ghz streaming and gaming, idle is around 30, it is a little on the chonky side so definitely recommend checking its going to fit your case, if your fans rattle resit them
In case your internet is on maintenance & can't watch this video. The product boxes always come with a step-by-step installation guide. Read them so not to do the rookie mistakes.
Noctua makes a similar air cooler for $119 for anyone with a bigger budget. Keep in mind just like this cool you need to install the ram before the cooler because it's even bigger but keeps my Ryzen 5950x plenty cool despite liquid cooling being recommended.
I need this for my *extreme* miniPC build. It’s going to look hilarious mounted next to the eGPU & PSU mount. I told my buddy I was making an equal-priced version of his Top-of-the-line +$1k handheld, in the most absurd way possible. (I don’t use the eGPU when matching his iGPU setup, with a cheap OLED screen & peripherals.)
As someone who uses this cooler, I cannot stress enough the importance of screwing both sides evenly (couple rotations on the right and a couple on the left, alternate back and forth). When I built my pc I did not know this and tried screwing it all the way down on the left then on the right, but I didn’t get to the left before the screw snapped off and I had to replace the cpu cooler. Wanna make sure no one makes the same dumb mistake as me
@legendmaster1989 it won't be evenly placed over top. One side will be stressed, it could be slightly bowed. Either way, you won't get the maximum contact required for spec use.
btw for nearly the same price get the phantom spirit 120 SE or EVO if you want the looks and better install on tall rams it has one more heat pipe and the evo version looks like this too, they are basically the upgraded version of peerless, they do cool better of course and are comparable to noctua for a few bucks more, im talking like 5 or 10 in my country
Where tf was this like a week ago when I just built my first PC and had almost this exact CPU Cooler (same brand, mines an ARGB one) and struggled for a minute figuring out how to install 🥲 very clean and easy to understand tutorial, you do great work Zach 🫡
JayzTwoCents would say use a tiny spatula and spread the thermal paste for maximum coverage and thermal productivity. Not sure a pea sized dot is the meta these days. Would be an interesting comparison test between the two.
I wish they had this in stock when I built my PC. I got the grey one and didn't realize until everything was installed that I had accidentally built a "blacked out" system except for the cooler
I wish it was available in India for the same price, I bought ant esports c621 for $32 or so, and I have to say maybe it's a decent cooler but performs poorly, you don't expect your cpu to draw 70w and be on 72 or 73c, with an ambient temp of 30-33'c
The only thing I don't like about this brand is their products are not available where I live in Australia. I really do hope they expand to other markets although Australia isn't the biggest market for a company to expand into.
@user-my8zo8uh3n yeah found them about 2 months ago on scorptec and bought a thermal right 120mm single fan tower cooler for $25 AUD. Which most similar coolers are at least $35 if not $45. Thanks for the reply.
Beat Noctua in terms of value by performance. Have mine installed this year replacing single cooling tower Assassin King 120. Standard grey color and expecting a naked top design but they have modified the latest version with elegant top cover too.
The thermal paste that came with my Thermalright Peerless Assassin was garbage! It was kind of dried up and wouldn't hardly squeeze out of the tube. I had to order some Artic thermal paste because i wasn't using that old paste. Other than that, the cooler is absolutely amazing! Went from around °85C to °61C max on an i9 11900KF CPU!
I have this on a gigabyte b650 Aorus and definitely needed to raise the fans up a bit so my Corsiar Vengeance ddr5 ram wasnt causing a fit issue . Not a big deal , just never built a pc before and for a second i had a oh no oh no moment 😂
Kinda forgot to mention, to put RAM in CORRECT slots first before You do anything CPU related, people are not that much aware of that, also to pick low profile RAM

Watercooling a 5950x seems a bit overkill
@masterbomber98 when I bought it said liquid cooling was suggested by AMD
@@archwolf3835 Mmmmm maybe it's the architecture if so, a TDP of around 100W isn't really a lot of power

it should really be noted the specific orientation the cpu bracket is installed is crucial in determine where the fans will blow air too
