I haven’t fished from the beach for many years. I used to fish with my dad from the shore when dads boat was laid up for its annual maintenance. He had a Fairy Hunstman with standard Ford twin Sabre diesels, a beautiful boat for offshore fishing. Sadly when dad passed away, boat and shore fishing was never quite the same. Ragworm was often our first choice of bait, and usually the most successful in catching most species of fish. I will watch some more of your videos, and hopefully I might get a trip to the beach once more. Tight lines. Geoff T.

are you sure there is water in front of you Jay lol ...commented at the start of your video, i never thought there was fishing there when the tide was so low lol but watched to the end of the video... i think im more surprised you caught a bass lol... i have only been fishing about 6 years now but i have never caught a bass.. the elusive fish for me lol tried everywhere, cant fish off rocks anymore legs are too bad bloody knees lol.. so its sea walls and beaches i dont have to walk too far.. saw you down by houmet the other day, been back all week putting down churvey thought i was going to catch something but so far only one small eel there,, next time im going to move along the beach i think. great videos mate love watching how its supposed to be done

I was the same Robert, sea fishing the UK for 6-7 years before I caught my first bass. Last year I was just chucking a silver wedge out hoping for mackerel and had two decent Bass in the space of 15 mins. First one I let go but when the next one came so soon after, I thought I should try cooking it up for my first time ever. Delicious. I, like yourself, struggle with clambering over rocks etc nowadays so when the water is warm and calm in the summer, I sometimes take a light spinning rod and a couple lures and wade up to my waistline on my local sandy beach. I find the water takes the weight off my legs and being able to cast out that extra distance gets my lure in deeper water. Always good for a feed of mackerel and like last year you never know! Not sure just lobbing undersized fish back is the way to treat them in this enlightened age,what ya do of camera is one thing but hearing a fish slap on the water from where ya chucking it on camera makes ya wince a bit,good vid otherwise just remember not everybody’s a fisherman that watches and these are the people that get things banned.👍
