I've commented this before, but it bears repeating: I just love your approach to conserving the resource and encouraging all your viewers to do the same! My dad was all about going out and catching/shooting as much as possible and trying to fill the freezer. I'm glad that point of view is getting less and less common.
There are the Golden rules when harvesting shellfish or fish. Always look after next year’s harvest, never take undersized! Greenhorns come along and you have to nab them to protect the stock..I loved doing a tide after a good blustery blow, all those Oysters would be washed up from the deep. 👍👍👍
Best video to date! I can’t believe how many lobsters were just out and about ready for the picking!! The energy in this video had me smiling from ear to ear, Loved it as always 🇦🇺❤️
When I was young I ate ballan wrasse, bass, cuttlefish and congers. They all would have been in my kitchen at the end of the night. By the way, conger cutlets are good grilled or you can jelly them and eat them cold. They taste better than river eels.
Amazing forage Jay, can't believe how many lobsters were just walking about, just goes to show that you have a nice healthy population which is always good to see! Cracking stuff as always mate 👌
@@scrappydoo7887 yes definitely does help to have good quality sea water, I live in Cornwall just across the channel and it's pritty good here most of the time but even so we don't have any where near as good of a population of lobsters. Still I manage to find the odd big keeper every so often 🙂
You & Sam are a great Team, just love when you're out together there's a great bond there and an Epic forage, great to see so many Lobsters of all sizes, and great you both got a lovely feast #Smashfishingbaby
Now that was one hell of a forage lads🔥🔥. That cuttlefish was massive and had some stunning colours. You guys got some brilliant footage. I always love how respectful you are of the animals and habitats top men💎👍🇨🇦
Looks good, I have used wasabi and butter or just butter and lemon juice, on the rock lobsters that we get here. Always have a small bowl of lemon and butter to dip it in as I munch on it. Of course always wash it down with a good German beer. Thank you for sharing your foraging adventures. Look forward to more videos. Good luck, and stay safe.
💥boom💥 This videos up there with the octopus. Epic forage jay and great to see sam out with you. ( we miss him). Both so respectful of your wildlife and shores, no wonder it’s teaming with life
Great stuff fella and that cuttlefish looked huge!!! You make it look so easy. There's alot of hard work in different/cold conditions which sometimes we forget about but we all really appreciate both your efforts to bring us this great content..... well done guys!!!! 🙂🙂
Hi Jay and Sam! The conger eels are such a beautiful shade of blue. Nice lobster catch. The two caught lobsters: #1: " I told you they'd be back. " #2 " Shoulda moved my tail faster." How's your son, Jay? Smash? Will you post any photos? Be well! 🦞🦞🦞
Love your videos mate, I’m sure other people will agree they really help with anxiety or just when you’re having a bad day! As well just having a general interest in sea life and the importance of respecting it! Look forward to the next one
Can we all take a second to look at the fact that you dipped the lobster into the sauce but bit the other end instead.. You are a savage my friend. 😎 Rulez r 4 lozerz
WoW! Great Forage. That water was just amazingly clear as well.Sad to hear it's the last Abalone night for the year. They're my favorite.Do you reckon that was a post spawn cuttlefish?Beautiful creature.
Have you ever tried cooking lobster with a little white wine and tobasco mixed in with the butter, once you have tried it you won't go back its absolutely delicious
The Grab fishermen used to curse the spiders, now they cherish them. I always told them that one day they would not be throwing them in back in the drink cursing them…
I was fortunate to live in Asia for ten years. Lots of it in China. . If you could catch as many ormers as you foraged there you’d be rich. The Chinese love abalone and it’s expensive. They also like other less palatable things like sea cucumber.
You know what is better than drinking tea while watching Smash Fishing? Hearing Sam say his iconic "hell yeah" on every single Smash Fishing video
That and a beer!!
Being out there with them two while foraging would be epic.
I almost spat out the tea I'm drinking!

Would've been fine to keep that cuttlefish for charcoal grilling. One that age can't breed anymore and will probably die in a few months.
Hell yeah, what a great fisching/foraging in your area,i love your videos please ,please more of this stuff!!! Go on smashers i like it very much
This is so cool! I'd love to experience night fish foraging.
Hell yeah just woke up and the boys are back! TBH I like all of your videos but the ones with Sam and you are the best. Great bromance ! Lol

The Grab fishermen used to curse the spiders, now they cherish them. I always told them that one day they would not be throwing them in back in the drink cursing them…
Cuttlefish are good eating, in Sardinia Italy we cook them in tomato sauce with peas

Lobsters look mighty delicious. 😋Is cuttlefish edible by the way?🤨
I was fortunate to live in Asia for ten years. Lots of it in China. . If you could catch as many ormers as you foraged there you’d be rich. The Chinese love abalone and it’s expensive. They also like other less palatable things like sea cucumber.

Fantastic
think your cuttle fish had already laid her eggs. that bit of stuff that came off of her was probably a bit of her insides that held the eggs
I read that squid has huge bite force, is it dangerous if you keep it in a hand?
