"I'm still in shock, I found an electric ray". 😂 Classic Jay.

I was out scalloping (towing a small 900mm wide dredge with about a meter long mesh bag attached, behind boat) one day here in New Zealand, when I pulled dredge up to side of boat it had that many scallops I couldn't pull it over side into the boat, so started grabbing handfuls out of dredge to make it lighter. All of a sudden I got blasted across to other side of boat and lay there with huge chest pain and throbbing. After a few minutes I had no idea what had happened and there in dredge was an electric ray. It was a motley bluey colour with wart like lumps all over it. Treated it with huge respect after that managing to get it back into water without another shock. I've had electric shots before but nothing ever like I got that day. I'm guessing aluminum boat, very wet equals great conductor. 🔌🌩🚤 Really enjoy your posts, look forward to them every day, cheers.

I like the way you talk about Guernsey butter . We raised Guernsey cows and we made butter for years , definitely the best .

Havent had it for some time as I moved away - but Guernsey butter is certainly the best! Same applies to milk.@@SMASHFISHING

You need to add some salt and pepper on the flat fish, and some spicy garlic too. That should do the job for the flat fish

I think the topknot might need a bit of work to get the best out of it. Bleed it when you catch it to try to keep the flesh white, then fillet and salt the fillets for a bit to firm them up. Might be worth a shot

It would be interesting to see how many Volt's they pass through their body. I'm just wondering if that could be done with a volt reader, or if you have one of those mate's that would do or try anything without thinking of the consequences, get him to put his tongue on it, like we used to with batteries, we've all had one of those mate's in the gang.😅
