600 divided by 14 days divided by 10ppl is around $4.30 per person for a day. That is amazing to feed someone for less than $5 for one meal a day, much less 2-3 meals a day. Awesome job. Also hope my math is correct bc I didn’t double check. My second grade teacher would be shaking her head😂
But you didn't factor in that this isn't actually everything they will eat. Most of the meat they will eat isn't part of this grocery bill because they buy in bulk/raise some of their own meat and eggs I believe. And right now meat is sooo expensive so it would be way more.
@@Natnat994 you are definitely correct in that! We raise cattle and farm, it definitely makes a difference. But this is a good example of the difference meal planning can make. She didn’t post this to shame spending. She was clearly excited to save money as they are on a budget. Her words. Pretty sure you took the wind right out of her sails with that comment.
@@NADA-ok2ce the op was NOT shaming this family, simply saying if you are spending more than that, don't worry. The fact that the Bells harvest some of their own food/peats/eggs etc, is great. I love watching your vids so much. You just seem like such a warm and caring and genuine family. It's always a great feeling to establish a budget and stick to it. I think you did AMAZINGLY well for a bi-weekly haul for 10 people. Bless ❤
I did the math and you're spending about $88 per person per week. We spend around $65 per week per person. I bet the only difference is that you buy more red meat than us. We're just two people who live in the city, so many cost-saving options aren't an option for us (no freezer chest, no garden space, no u-picks). Food is just plain expensive, so the only way to cut down costs while still maintaining nutrition for us is to have mostly chicken for protein. Chicken is getting expensive too, though... Used to be
Could you & your daughter make a video about how she got interested into cooking & the process for culinary school? I know a lot of parents watch your videos & it might help.
I like how she puts emphasis on budget...That's how a family of 10 should be not 12 carts of little bites and junk food like some lady we know... u go momma bell. 😅
I love that you feed your family well balanced home cooked meals! You're amazing at budgeting too. I wish I could do that and it's just me and my partner lol
That is an impressive haul 😊 I shop like this... my husband does not 😅 he's the money man but since we have baby on the way in May (growing our family to 9 but 2 have flown the coop) he is learning how to save and looks for deals daily ❤
We're a family of 7 and i desperately need a deep freezer so i can meal prep and put away larger packages of food away but our problem is that we have no where to hook it up.
This is amazing ❤ teach me some tricks I have a family of 6 and need to budget more I also only shop bi weekly I truly felt excited for you Congratulations mama God Bless Your Family
Start with making a list of go-to meals. Something quick thay you always have ingredients on hand for. This will set you up for nights you don't want to cook. You can do this month to month to make sure it's used up in a timely manner. The next step I took to cut our bill is to buy meats, fruits and veggies, and plant milks (we can't have dairy). Everything else we bought some of and chose to figure out how to make it or process it ourselves. For example: condiments.
This is approximately amount of money that we spent in Serbia but for 2 adults and two children in two weeks on groceries and we have income of around 1000 dollars a mounth. So... 😮 This is great!
I could stop items which can still cut down the total by at least around 100-150$ like the ready chocolate milk, eggos... Instead I'd buy like regular milk & chocolate and cocoa powder and that would make more chocolate milk
