      As a fellow Utahan, I just have to say that I would have guessed she and those kids were from here. There's a weird number of super blonde, cute kids from large families around here. I married a non-mormon guy here and we had one of those super blonde kids, even though nobody in either family looks like that. It's something in the water.

      I have to say, I started watching this, expecting an above-average H.S. production and really, they performed this with top-notch, professional talent. When one considers that the Chicago version this was modeled after was the FILM, which gets plenty of practicing, effects, takes and edits, this truly IS an excellent, incredible performance!
      Ms. Barrowes went the extra mile to BE the puppet in this piece. I don't know how she kept her dinner down! :)
      And Mr. Andrus' voice was an outstanding baritone throughout that coupled with the right amount of exuded confidence required for the part.
      The ONLY negative in all of this was an auditorium/sound system that didn't deserve that level of talent.

    Unironically this is definitely one of the best performances of 'Gun' on RUclips.
    The choreography is mostly taken from the 2002 movie as opposed to the usual stage choreography but it reintroduces some of the best stage elements (particularly the long notes at the end which wouldn't have fit in the movie since why would that be impressive when it isn't live?), we also get to see Roxy's full Charleston performed flawlessly at the end (which the movie literally shows for 0.4 seconds)
    The rag doll ventriloquist dummy from the movie is so much more comedic and captivating than the stage version of frozen comedic expressions (and makes more sense) and both Roxy's physicality, make-up (props to them) and acting all enhance it
    And yes, Flynn holds a note here better than some other professional performances I've seen on YT.
    I'm only sorry they couldn't also do the stage version's dance together at the end as well (the shuffle at the last refrain at the end before the long note)

      @roisinnigcrainn7722 3 года назад +57

    • @enochhku
      @enochhku Месяц назад +4

      Circular breathing is a wind instrument technique used to achieve an uninterrupted flow of air and tone that surpasses the capability of a musician's lung capacity. Musicians execute this technique by using air stored in their mouth to produce sound from an instrument while simultaneously inhaling air into the lungs through the nose. Once the air stored in the musician's mouth runs out and their lung capacity is restored, they must seamlessly switch back to exhaling from their lungs through their mouth to maintain a continuous, uninterrupted tone. This technique is not applicable to vocalists, as their tone is produced within the throat rather than through the use of an external instrument.

    These two are SO FREAKING TALENTED. His voice. Her puppet movements and mimics. The way she fell down when he let her down. The way he picked her up. This is absolutely CRAZY brilliant!!!!!! Such a hard scene to reach but they PEAKED!!!

    When I did this in an actual professional production we didn't have nearly half the talent these two had. I feel like I did a good job but if you asked me to hold that note at the end I'd have laughed in your face. Plus the actress I was working with was really stubborn, and refused to take criticism and sometimes walked out of rehearsals or didn't even show up. On the night she barely knew what she was doing and showed. I'm never working with her again thank god. Sorry for the rant, just jealous that a high school production did a better a job than we did when we probably had triple the budget 😹😹😹. Hats off to them

    THIS WAS REALLY OUTSTANDING!
    I SAW THE BROADWAY SHOW 3 TIMES BEFORE THE MOVIE AND THIS WOULD MAKE THE BROADWAY CAST PROUD!
    (especially the girl playing Roxy & the guy playing her lawyer in this scene)
    BRAVO! 👍👍👍👍👍💞

    This is my favorite song from Chicago, and actually seeing it performed is especially a delight. You get to see how many people are unnervingly good at pretending to be a puppet. This girl especially is one of the best, there were times I forgot she was genuinely moving her own limbs. Billy Flynn here is also incredible. He put so much character into the role that even some of the official recordings don’t have. Amazing!!

    Obsessed with this performance they did amazing and honestly I didn't think much of it when I saw it in my recommendations but I've been watching this on a loop for an hour now it's so good! Even to the messed up tie, I have no idea if that was intentional but it made the performance better and there's Roxie just amazing acting up to her movements are very puppet like. And that kid's voice is insane even though the production is for a high school and probably just prepared by high schoolers, this is my favorite performance of this. I definitely agree with the title, I even prefer this than the movie one.

      @@ptalove 단순히 표정뿐 아니라 여배우 남배우가 같은 동작들을 반복해서 반전시켜 액팅하는 모습을 보니까 시나리오에서 말하고자 하는 내용이 너무 잘 이해가 됨 이거 보기 전까진 그냥 안무같은건 줄 알았음 복화술같은 능력을 터득하는것도 훌륭하긴 한데 뮤지컬은 먼자리 관객들도 보는 거라서 저런 큰 움직임으로 내용을 설득하는게 효율적일 듯
