    I always wanted to do like what she said. repair the situation and find the soul within another person but sometimes the person just playing with your emotion and kindness. at the end, more hurt would be done to ourself. I'm not rejecting or attacking, I'm just preventing and protecting.

    • @latinaseattle
      @latinaseattle 7 лет назад +2

      It had happened to me. In my case this person used to come back with new vibes and intentions but no, it only lasts for a couple of days, maybe weeks. I set myself to simply don't care about anything this person does, but then the hurt goes out to the rest of the family. Sometimes is so difficult to OPEN OURSELVES and plainly say "you are free to go".

    Thank you. It's good to learn from your experience. It's surely painful but it's the pain that brings us to our senses most of the time.
    Liked the humor in your speech. Also I love the fact that you've avoided any reference to any religious figers or divine help, much appreciated.

    Elizabeth, thank you! I was crying thoughout the whole talk...thinking how many beautiful things people miss out on when they hold grudges, when they don't see that magic divine light in the other and in themselves...We all should think more about that "deep time" - the true and pure existence for all of us. Love is really the best currency! You are a brave woman. I admire you a lot.

    Thanks, Elizabeth Lesser for your message. The timing for me is almost scary because my mother and I had yet another huge argument this past week, in which she told me one more time she didn't want to see me again. She's also told me she's not my mother anymore and I'm not her daughter anymore in the past and I just am not going to partake in these hurtful arguments anymore. But, she's 81 years old and obviously won't be here much longer so I know what I need to do, I just don't have the compassion to do it and that makes me disappointed in myself. Anyway, thank you for your message.

    Sad thing is most people have too many layers on top of their soul that it takes a lot of work to get rid of, and it will be painful so most choose not to unveil their soul. It is not until old age do they start to reflect and regret, by then it will be too late.

    With endurance athletics - if you explore the pain rather than let it consume you, you soon realize which pains are real signals to be concerned with, real damage, and those pains that are not serious and you will fully recover from after your rest period. Good points in this video

      tbh a part of this speech is how feelings are being faked, feeling aren't a bad thing and thinking about it that way is limiting. I assume you mean the people who are selfish or blind so they lash out and close up to others and themselves.
      This video is expanding on the idea of self and others, gotta be more geniuine and break down the barriers of repression.

    Someone sent me this. Yet we're estranged. Why? Because when we were teens this person used me to her advantage. When I was young I had this very strict code of support, truth, authenticity, and honesty. Others, not so much.
    Its always amazed to me the type of people who are always seeking self help - through religion, the Bible, self-help groups, what have you. And I've noticed they're the type who lack honesty, authenticity, truthfulness, supportiveness themselves. They're seeking what they do not possess and will never have. You either have it or you don't. Now I'm closed off. I'm tired of users.

    Just a thought on the greater family effect of this! We hear how two sister's 'souls' were joined by blood and an admirable 'unburdening', but how were the other two sisters 'souls' effected? Did they too have an epiphany or were they negatively effected by the 'joining' of these two sisters? I would be interested to understand the overall effect on the family dynamic.

      Julian Walker you'd be surprised how many people this helps

    • @JAYDUBYAH29
      @JAYDUBYAH29 7 лет назад +6

      Nicko K you know i am prepared to give you that, for sure... i just think that we can have positive, empowering and compassionate, creative, emotionally meaningful messages without a lot of the misuse of scientific language that creates confusion later... i also think we can do better than perpetuating naive usage of words like soul, when in fact we are talking about something non-supernatural that we have better language for nowadays.

    • @nico_rico3185
      @nico_rico3185 7 лет назад +2

      Julian Walker yeah I get ya. I would argue that words like "soul" definitely describe "humanness" though. You can't deduce the human experience. You can say where feelings come from, but to describe the feelings themselves, we use words like "sacred" or "transcendent" because that's how they "feel". So to call it "naive" is harsh.

    • @JAYDUBYAH29
      @JAYDUBYAH29 7 лет назад +4

      Nicko K i hear you. here's my central point: it is fine to use words like soul if you are just talking about the experiential domain of feelings, meaning, metaphor etc (although i do feel that we can naturalize that concept to leave behind the supernatural baggage, by perhaps using a word like psyche, or inner life etc...)
      BUT when used in conjunction with a lot of scientific and medical language it mistakenly perpetuates an outdated and yes naive folk dualism between science, the body, medicine on one hand and the domain of our humanity, mind, "soul" on the other even as she is trying to draw parallels between the two....
      it is a bit of a mess, and to make it seem as if there is some medical/scientific legitimacy to the old world notion of a "soul" that can now be defined in these terms as separate from natural processes is for me too problematic.
      also, what makes us most human is not an immortal, immaterial, spooky "soul" it is our complex brains and their capacity for discovering meaning, feelings, empathy, and self-awareness in the real world and our actual lives.
      so i am actually talking about taking back the domain of what she and many ascribe to a supernatural soul, and making our mortal, physical, emotional, and entirely natural human bodies themselves sacred without adding anything un-necessary.
