One day Sean was at a PickNPull and met this guy Mikey. Mikey recognized Sean from our RUclips videos and struck up a conversation with him. Mikey was wondering if he could borrow my special rear axle tool to service his axles and asked Sean to relay the request to me. If I had a crystal ball and could have seen what a cool and generous guy Mikey was, I would have lended him my tool in a heartbeat. But, since I didn't know him and I've had bad experiences in the past lending things out to people, I told him no. But, this started out a conversation between the two of us and I learned Mikey was going to swap out his 5VZ-FE 3.4L V6 engine in his 2002 Toyota 4runner for a 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 out of a wrecked Toyota Sequoia. I told Mikey we would love to video this project and asked if we could be a part of it. He said, YES!
Mikey has a friend named Wes who owns a Custom Hotrod Shop in Santa Clara, CA. The majority of the work took place at Wes' shop and he was also cool with us filming the project.
Wes moved his shop to Morgan Hill. Here's his contact info if you're interested in using his services for custom automotive work. www.oneoffcustoms.com/ (408) 802-3299
We owe a lot to Mikey and Wes for letting us be a part of this awesome project and we are stoked that we get to share it with all of you.
You're going to get to see some cool things you don't get to see everyday in the Automotive Mechanic World, so grab a beer, sit back, relax and Enjoy the Show!
**Here's a cheat sheet Mikey made to route the factory 2002 4runner wiring harness to the 2003 Sequoia wiring harness:

This was probably the most insane and cleanest engine swap Ever! Mikey and Tim.... You guys are awesome! This was definitely worth watching! Not something I would even attempt! Due mainly to cost and crazy; level 11, on this one! Thank you all involved in this project! 👍
We're glad you enjoyed it. I'm happy we met Mikey and could document his V8 Swap. You're very welcome and thanks for the comment.
Fantastic but for one hour and 20 minutes where is the test drive at the end? Wanna see this thing fire up
Yeah, we hear what you're saying. Others have said the same thing. However, the engine is running at the very beginning so you might have missed it.
Don't want to see it running, want to see a 0-60!
Because it doesn't actually run
@@johncholmes643 Uh, if you watched the very beginning of the video, we show the engine running. Nice uninformed comment though.
@@Mr05Tundra Yeah, I don't know how we would have done that unless we took it to a track.
WOW! Lots of great work here. V8 swap looks like it was a factory option. Camera work and narrating showed lots of informative stuff. Video editing nicely wrapped up what I'm sure was hours of footage. Now let's see that thing rip down the highway/trail!
This was really awesome. Props for the in-depth knowledge and initiative. Almost want to tackle something like this on my Tacoma lol
usually with a video this long i jump around but i was simply in awe of the project and sat through everything. Love this!!!
We're glad you enjoyed it. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
That is one clean 4runner! 17 years old still has paint on all the frame. Dry! Superb build guys 👌 spot on 👊 salute
This is one of the benefits of living in California. Vehicles last for a long time. Areas of the country where they salt the roads, vehicles just don't last as long due to the corrosion.
Excellent video, very detailed. I’ve always wanted to do a 3rd gen v8 swap….not anymore. Lil more than I’d like to take on. Thanks for sharing
Wow! Excellent video and awesome clean swap!
Thanks Dave. Mikey put a lot of work into this swap so he'll appreciate your comment.
"Are You not Entertained?" Incredible job with this
Nice Gladiator movie reference. Glad you liked it.
Ive also seen a 5.3 LS motor go in a few 4 runners and Tacoma that were pretty awesome. Nice job on this one!
Mikey and Wes would appreciate your compliment.
Cool,impressive! I have both a 3rd and 4th gen,love the 3rd but the v8 in the 4th is very nice,you combined the best!
After all this, Mikey gave this rig to his brother. So, his brother gets to enjoy it.
Nicely done. This is definitely an easier and more affordable undertaking for those of us who live in free states. Nicely done. I definitely appreciate the adherence to keeping things as “factory” as possible. The exhaust wasn’t a concern for me because we don’t have to pass emissions tests. My only concerns were the tone and NOT throwing an emissions related code. I definitely didn’t want the factory sound but I didn’t want it to be obnoxious either. Dual borlas and custom 3.25” stainless plumbing makes for a beautiful growl. Thanks for the 1st rate Yota content. It’s very helpful!
Thanks for the comment Kris.
one in every crowd
Great video of Mikey's 2UZ-FE 4.7L V8 engine swap. After watching this video, buying the donor vehicle, the amount of research, fabrication, customization of everything, and the actual cost, I have total respect for Mikey's abilities & skills to put it all together. Definitely not a weekend project for someone of limited mechanical abilities.
This is definitely an involved project that takes some serious commitment to pull off. I honestly wouldn't want to take on something like this but I enjoyed filming and documenting it.
There are 4.7L V8 manufacturers on 4Runner, they’re very strong moved. I loved that 4.7L V8.
Thanks for video.
40:00 I realize you guys didn’t looking deeper about 4Runner actually made with 4.7L, V8. Meaning you will get many parts from toyota dealer or junkyard from 4Runner with 4.7L and V8. If you could got 4Runner with 4.7L, V8 you would not spent additional modifications.
But it’s good to have you guys video your project for knowledge.
You can't just pull parts off a 4th Gen 4runner with a V8 and think you're not going to have to do some customization to make this swap work. For instance, custom exhaust work was needed. The electric cooling fan shroud that was fabricated was needed. And, I'm pretty sure the custom air conditioning lines were needed as well.
Great job! That's a lot of work but very unique!
The other Mikey would appreciate your comment. Mikey and Wes were the brains behind this swap. Sean and I were just lucky to be able to document it and share it on our channel.
Hope you finally loaned him your special rear axle tool. He didn’t have to let you film either. Great video in the end! 👍🏻
Jaime L. Thanks!!

Solid. Good to have you on the Timmy the toolman team!
a big thumbs up to mikey & timmy;s garage for this excellent exhibition of your very well researched & knowledgeable skills concerning this 2uz 4 runner swap ,,it is highly commendable to note such attention to detail to such a high level , that the final finished product turned out so astonishingly great , that one could swear the truck rolled out the factory that way ..it is also much appreciated by all toyota die hards to know that you chose the 2uz over an Ls swap .. much appreciated keeping the motor true to the toyota stable .. finally ... am certain the smile on your face when behind the wheel decimates all the time & effort you have invested into this project ...hope to see updates on this project with some in car video etc ... thanks again ,, & a Great Christmas season to all .. God Bless ...
Thanks for the kind words. Mikey would be very happy to read your comment. Amazingly enough though, not too long after doing this involved swap, Mikey and his wife decided they wanted to purchase an Airstream trailer. Since the 4runner, even with the V8, would have been majorly exceeding the towing limits, he gave this beautiful 4runner to his brother and bought a Yukon Denali to pull his trailer. He didn't have the room at his house for the 4runner so he gave it away. I'd say Mikey is a very nice brother. So unfortunately, we won't be seeing his V8 Swapped 4runner again. Mikey loves vehicle projects though so maybe we'll find ourselves documenting another one of his in the future. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Happy Wrenching!
thank you so much for responding so promptly with an update, much appreciated ,, a big shout out to mikey on his selfless generosity in passing on his amazing project to his brother ... thumbs up to you my friend ,, Wishing you a Merry Christmas , season .. hope to see much more from you ... to timmy .. keep it coming my friend excellent stuff .. Yeah…. This was a good one Tim, strong work on the all hands build, really impressed with the details explained while body was off chassis, and the referencing of prior builds during the walkthrough. Excellence as always.
I’m holding out for a 4th gen build. 😊
We're glad you enjoyed the video. Maybe one day we'll do an engine swap on a 4th Gen.
Cool video man, fantastic !! I planning to do the same but using a 1uz . Awesome V.I.D bro !! 😉👌👍
Glad you like it. We're super stoked we met Mikey and were able to film this.
Fascinating and gutsy build..........love to have one my ‘02.
It was a great build that we were lucky to be part of.
I feel you on the Pep Boys hesitation. I learned the hard way to never trust them when I had them install a new distributor cap on my 89 Prelude 2.0 SI (with 4 wheel steering). I did most of the work myself on that thing but didn't feel like renting the timing gun and learning how to do that. A week later the cap caught fire and toasted most of the stuff on the top of my engine. Miss the hell out of that car......
Boy, that was a hard lesson you learned. That sucks you lost that Prelude. Thanks for the comment.
Love videos like this.😊👍 You dont see this on the Discovery channel🤣. very good work. Big fan from Norway🇧🇻
Glad you like it my Scandinavian Brother. Or is it Nordic? Or is it both?
Timmy The Toolman. Scandinavian or Viking 😁🇧🇻 is good😉
I'm not used to seeing frames so rust-free. I've got to move out west
Jasonhb07 Hey Jason, yeah, it's pretty rough out here on the West Coast where the roads are paved with gold and everyone is dating a super model. And, unless you live in snow areas, no salt on the roads.
Timmy The Toolman my 01' has lived all its life in PA, salt sucks. We made it out to Nor Cal and she loved the roads. Too bad you live in a communist state or we would've moved by now.
Jasonhb07 That's funny you call it that. I call it the People's Republic of California.
Jasonhb07 I know... Been to SoCal many times and even NorCal love to visit. Don’t think i could afford to live there lol.
Cool deal! Toyota tech support is good to know about.

Welcome to the channel!
Mikey's insane in the membrane. This is all bragging rights, well done!
And after all that he gave this truck to his brother. Hopefully his brother will enjoy it.
I pull my 4200 lb camper with a 4th gen V8 4.7... I have a 99 3rd gen that is lifted and i sooo want to do this. Thanks for the vid. My buddy just swapped the ls400 V8 into a 89 4runner.
Down Town did your buddy document that process at all on that particular install? It would be cool to see more details about his work & anything that could help the next person do the same.
This is golden Timmy! What an awesome experience that we all got to be a part of by sparking up a conversation at pick n pull... great video and excited to hear the engine.
I have to agree, it was an awesome project to be a part of. On top of it, Mikey is a really cool and generous dude. He just recently assisted me in installing an aftermarket trans temp gauge in my 98 4runner.
I finally finished my swap.
2uz in a 2002 tacoma. Love it.
That’s awesome man! Anything you’d like to share about the experience to make it easier for the next person? Or something you had trouble with during the swap?
@@TimmyTheToolman check my channel for my build video. I still need to make a follow up showing the small details. Wiring is by far the most complicated part.
This is sweet, I have a Tacoma with the 3.4, and a sequioa with the 4.7, best of both worlds.
Yep, they are both great engines.
Mikey is a god lol . Thx man . Its like pulling teeth trying to get info in it i have been looking for prob around a yr and all i can find 8s people that did the 3.4 to 4.7 swap with almost no info on it
I agree. Mikey is a great guy on many levels. Sean and I are happy we met him and we're able to help by documenting this awesome mod. Hopefully Mikey will see your comment. I know it will make him smile.
God damn I want a 4.7 in my 1998 so bad! So badass.
Yes it is some serous badassness!
I was hoping he was going to start it up so we could hear it run and to hear the exhaust, but overall nice job!!!!
It's running at the very beginning. Glad you like the video.
Omg. This is awesome!
Due to tensioner malfunction 05 Tundra 4x4 V8 bought the farm. Found a salvage 06 with similar miles 1500.00 shipped. Unbolted converter to remove and replace engine. Little more HP able to replace t/b rear main seal converter . Like new now. 2 years out no problems
.
Where did the engine come from?
This video is awesome, I always wonder how hard it would be to switch engines around.
Glad you like the video. It's actually quite a bit of work especially if the state you're doing it in has strict smog laws.
I bet dude! I am 36 years old and have ALWAYS wanted to work on cars. I have the mentality of the guy in this who put the sequoia engine in the 4runner. I'm a V8 t-bird owner myself but going to buy the 2006 4Runner v8 sport tomorrow in fact. 55k miles! Anyway, this video really shows me how much manpower and time it takes to do what you just accomplished. I would feel very proud if I were you! I hope you got paid well my man! Have a great day!
himynameistim We just filmed the job. Mikey, the guy who owns the rig and his friend Wes that did most of the fab work were the brains behind this swap. We were just lucky to be along for the ride and had the opportunity to document it.
4 guys keep talking about carb legal thank God I live in Texas
Yep, be glad you don't live in the People's Republic of California. The most ridiculous smog laws in the World.
And Mike…YOU SIR ARE AWESOME. I can see my 2016 Gen 3 Tacoma with some version of the Toyota V8.
I would have to agree Mikey is pretty damn talented.
I have a very serious interest in doing this. I have a 94 ex-cab 4x4 with the 3.slo and while most people do the 5VZ swap which is much easier, I think I want more power for towing. I've already purchased a 2-inch body lift from 4Crawler which I'm about to do and will then be installing a long travel kit and am swapping the rear axle to a 2002 Tundra to match the extended width of the front LT kit. I'm moving to Washington state in ~ 2 or 3 years and the goal is to pull my trailer back and a forth at least twice to move my small shop. I also weld MIG/TIG and fabricate and do various CAD/CNC work so I know I could tackle this and do most everything myself labor wise.
I did the R150F clutch last year in my driveway. I've worked on cars since I was 15. I feel if I'm going to go through the trouble of a swap, I might as well go the extra distance to really have what I want, and being able to tow around 4,000-5,000lbs much more easily is really what I'm after. I've toyed with just buying a Tundra but I hate automatics and also hate the bulbous looks of the early 2000 models. I'd rather stick with a lighter, more compact 5-speed manual truck with a beefy engine upgrade.
Hey Jeff, sounds like you have the skill set and motivation to pull off the swap. Good luck if you decide to do it. One day I'd like to learn to weld but I sort of doubt I'll ever be an accomplished fabricator. Happy Wrenching!
@@TimmyTheToolman Thanks, it looks like the 4.0UZ is a lot easier to pull off with a manual transmission and transfer case. Since the 2UZ was all automatics only it seems near impossible to mate the two. There are a few leads on an adapter plate but from what I can tell it also comes down to emissions issues since again, no manuals exist for that engine and thus no ECU for manual. Therefore I may have to scrap the idea or go with the 4.0L UZ or an OM617Mercedess diesel swap which a guy has well documented on here on RUclips.
we need a new video that includes acceleration, exhaust notes and a burnout 👌
We'll keep that in mind if we ever document another V8 Swap.
I'm about to watch, and I've gotta say I'm gnna turn into a pro in auto mechanics (at least on 4runners) from learning of all of you guys. I can tell this is gnna be a fun ride of a video!!!
Let me know what you think after you watch it.
Man I need to find a place that will do this somewhere near Louisiana/Arkansas area. I sooo want a 4.7 in my 2000 3rd Gen.
Hey Thomas, I think a shop would charge bookoo bucks to do this swap for you. It's a ton of work. Mikey did a lot of the research for the wiring harness and built it himself which alone was a ton of time. He estimated he spent 12k on this swap. I think a shop doing 100% of the work would charge you even more. But, I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask what a shop what they would charge. It would have to be a shop that specializes in this sort of thing because you're average shop wouldn't take on a project like this.
Holy engine swap Batman!!! Curious, is there a reason why you have an older style grill on your 02 Runner Mikey?
I wasn’t into the ‘02 grille as much. Tried a bunch of different options and ended up on the ‘97 limited grille.
Mikey a genius huh. More info needed to due this job than I have in my entire brain. F150 gas tank upgrade might've been good.
Mikey is a very smart dude for sure. That gas tank mod might be coming soon to a theatre near you.
Awsome work ......
Thanks, but it was all Mikey and Wess. We just held the camera and edited the project. But yeah, we were impressed too.
This is incredible. I would love to do something like this or the new Cummings crate motor, but this is WAY beyond my wallet and knowledge. My long term plan is a full rebuild and supercharger
Where are you going to get your motor rebuilt?
I'm rebuilding my motor now and it was supercharged. Decided to go with 9:1 pistons from LCE. When I disassembled my motor at 300k miles, I had for or five stuck piston rings even with the URD 315cc injector setup. I do know last year the dealership (broke down in New Mexico) put standard plugs in..which may have killed the motor. Feel free to email at chuckforquer at gmail dot com.
Cummins*!!! The new crate engine is sweet but for the money I feel like it's seriously lacking in power. I'd much rather do a merscabes diesel for alot less
@@chickenfishhybrid44 *Mercedes
Those lines that bent as y'all were lifting the cab was the coolant lines for the rear heater.
Jacob Colombo Yep, we figured that out.
HAHAH just made it to that part where you said that.
Damn you shoulda got one from an 05! They had Variable valve timing and made 275 rather than 240 hp. Really cool tho!!
The variable valve timing would have been nice. Mikey realized this but he got a good deal on the Sequoia he pulled the engine from so he couldn't pass up on the deal..
Hola quisiera saber la presion de aceite del motor 2uzfe 4.7 cuanto debería medir en psi
Excellent!
Thanks!
Very nice! My mom has the same engine in her sequoia. Has 350,000 miles on it and still runs great with no engine work. She wants to get rid of it cause shes scared it will break down someday but I want her to push 400,000 miles 😂😂.
Yep, the 2UZ motors are known to go over 500k no problem. Tell your mom not to worry and keep driving it.
Oh wow I would love to put that into my 3rd gen!
Wouldn't we all. It's just the time and money that scares most of us from tackling a job of this magnitude.
Timmy The Toolman hey Tim I was wondering do you think the 4.7 is more reliable than the 3.4? I know they are both pretty reliable but wanted your opinion.
I always thought removing the cab was the easiest way to do the 4.7l swap. Doing this in my 84’ is going to be cake, at least till I get to the wiring.
Mikey and Wes would be happy to hear you approve of their method. Good luck with your motor swap.
I'm getting ready to do a 96 fzj80 with 2004 2uz from a 4 runner with the auto trans as well.
Good luck with the swap.
you guy cool mechanic I love this video
Glad you like the video and thanks for taking the time to comment.
what a great video
Thanks Mark. We're glad you like it.
Fantastic video Tim! Did you ask Mikey if he ever contemplated of just swapping the body of a 4Runner onto the chassis of a sequoia? Then fabricate all new body mounts?
No, I never asked him that but I'll ask him when I talk to him next.
Though it seems like it would be straight forward to do that, you would still have to mate the body wiring harness with the ECU so I don't think it would be any easier. The advantage to doing that is you would get rear disc brakes and some confidence in a 7000lb towing capacity.
Nice project.
Watching from Mozambique
Yeah, it was quite an involved and satisfying project for Mikey. Thanks for the comment. I think you might be the first person commenting on one of our videos from Mozambique. Maybe one day I'll visit your country.

Great job great job guys I am I have to hand it to you and I did and you got through it I have the Sequoia and the 4.7 and that's where it's going to stay maybe 3 inches taller keep up the good work Timmy
Thanks William. We weren't the brains behind this job but we were lucky enough to come along for the ride to document it.
I know Mikey transplanted several of the sequoia parts onto the 4runner, and that the oil pan clears the frame. Was that the particular reason why the sequoia 4x4 was selected as the donor vehicle as opposed to a 2wd sequoia or another vehicle? Thanks and love your videos!
I don't know why Mikey selected the Sequoia other than the fact that he was able to buy the whole vehicle relatively cheap through the Copart Auto Auction. The Sequoia was wrecked bad in a crash, but the drivetrain was in good shape.
It's 240 hp and 315 pounds feet of torque on 2000-2004 Toyota Sequoia.

Awesome video! Respect sir! Im big Toyota fan, fixed few 4runners, sequoias and bunch of lexus but what you did is temarkable. Thanks for posting!
Kris PL Glad you're impressed Chris. But, all the praise needs to be directed at our buddy Mikey. He was the brains behind this swap and his friend Wes was responsible for the necessary modifications. Sean and I were just the cameramen who documented the job. But, we're stoked we were able to get this video made because it was a very cool project to witness and share with the world.
Hey Timmy, I am planning on running that same engine (non-vvti 2uzfe) in my 2005 4runner (wich had the vvti originaly) Beside the engine I changed the ECU, the immobilizer, the key (and cylinder) and the Body Control Module (Body ECU) all from the donor truck. But for some reason I have no communication between the ECU and the Data kink Connector & the engine tries to start but dies right away. Did you ran into something similar while doing your Swap?
Sean and I were just along for the ride with this motor swap. All the research came from Mikey and he put a lot of time into figuring out the wiring. Mikey didn't have any issues from what I remember with the wiring harness he built.
Jean-Francis Dupuis Sounds like you have triggered the immobilizer. I had a locksmith who specializes in reprogramming Toyotas come out and reset the immobilizer to initialize it. Since you swapped everything from the donor it shouldn’t be required, but wouldn’t hurt to get done.
What would be more economical, this swap or super charge the 5VZ?
The supercharger by a long shot.
Did you run into any problems with using the stock a340f toyota transmission when doing the swap. I have a 04 tundra with the 3.4 and I'm looking to swap a 4.7 and looking to see how big of a challenge it's gonna be
No problems that we've heard of from Mikey.
Hey Tim sorry man I got a ton of questions: Any chance Mikey would share that tech electrical diagrams for pinning the connectors? About to conquer this task here in about a month so trying to gather all the supplies and things I need prior to doing the breakdown. Also what did you guys use to de-pin the connectors? Ive tried before, but didnt know if you needed a special tool to not mess up the pins as you push them out. Any advice or suggestions I should look out for?
No way to give an accurate estimate for the time invested in this job. Mikey did lots of research ahead of time to build the wiring harness. The job was spread out over quite a bit of time and many many days. There's a link to a doc for the wiring in the video description. I don't know what tool Mikey used for de-pinning but I do know they make a special tool. I'm sure you'll be able to figure it out with a little research.
I really want to bring my car to your shop I'll be watching your videos all the time you're hear of Toyotas
We don't really run a shop. We just make videos to help people out. If you had a job that we haven't shot a video of yet, we might be interested in helping you.
Any information on where Mikey sourced his radiator? Having a very hard time finding the right one for my swap!
He got it somewhere in Japan. Don't know what supplier. The company ORS, Offroad Solution might have information for you to source that radiator. It’s a hilux surf diesel model radiator.
Those 4.7s are perfect for old yotas! Bet that runner is peppy... Man I just want a 3.4 in my old T100. Anything is better than the 3.0 😭 😂
Yes, the 4.7 liter is a great engine.
Timmy The Toolman sadly it has a timing belt. Other than that it is perfect. How many main bearing caps has it?
My friends wanted to get out after that by it kept climbing for at least another 1/4 mile up Mount Walker in Wa.
I have no idea how your comment relates to our video, but ok.
Dear Tim. I recently watched your engine swap video. It is fantastic. I have a 99 4runner V6 4WD Automatic that needs a new frame. Do you know if the 2WD frame is the same as the 4WD frame.
I have a feeling it is but I don't know for sure. If I were you, I'd ask your question on the forum T4R.org in the 3rd Gen section. There's a lot of knowledgeable people on there and some of them have done frame swaps. There is one guy, screen name "TheDurk" that has done a frame swap. He would be a good person to ask. If you're not already a member, join the forum and maybe personal message him. I bet he'll know the answer.
Only thing that is different is the transmission mount locations. There’s a company that makes a 4wd swap cross frame for 2wd frames. Look up 3rd gen 4runner 4wd conversion.

Hey do you think I could swap in the 4.7 into a regular cab tundra that has a 3.4 v6 in it? Would I need to do any custom work or need custom parts or just donor parts?
You could do it. You would absolutely need to do custom work like we discuss in the video. Custom motor mounts. You'd have to reposition the transmission support cross member. Custom Electric Cooling Fan Shroud. Alter the exhaust. Custom AC lines. It's a lot of work and a lot of money especially if you're paying somebody to do the swap for you.
Ive been debating doing a 1uz or 2uz swap or just turboing the 3rz in my tacoma.
Good luck with the decision.
Crazy the amount of time and commitment that went into this! I can only imagine! I definitely dont think i would want to do this. As much as I like the 3rd gens, if I wanted the v8 option id go find a 4th gen with one in it from the factory. Not the same, but a lot easier. Kudos to him for making this work though! Serious dedication!
Yep, it was quite the involved project and it's definitely not for everyone.
very nice!!!! also i think you can use the sequoia tach i saw one guy on another channle who used the sequoias
Yeah it is possible to use the Sequoia instrument cluster which looks cool, but has its own set of wiring challenges. I wanted a full OEM look so I kept the 4Runner cluster.
you know Japanese 4runner (surf) have LED instrument cluster like in the lexus it looks awesome
Yes, I've been watching the Japanese Yahoo auctions for an Optitron instrument cluster to come up, as I'd like to try figuring out how to swap one in.
Mmm take the engine gearbox and diff centers. You will have to change the diff ratios
If I have one Sequoia 2003, Can I mount the 4runner on the Sequoia chassis ??
I see same project on the Denali 2003 chassis with mount 67's Blazer.
I think is more easy..
Nice video.
Don't know. We've never done it and I haven't heard of somebody doing it. With heavy modification, anything can be done.
Would Mikey and Wes be interested in taking on this project again? My 3rd gen has a blown head gasket and thinking about upgrading rather than fix/replace.
Wes might be interested but Mikey doesn't do this sort of thing for a living. Mikey does projects on his personal vehicles. We have contact info in the video description for Wes' shop.
What front grille is that?
Use a 14 mm long socket when taking the e brake off
Thanks for the tip.
I've always thought of this project for my runner but I have a 5 speed manual transmission I don't think there and conversion kit to fit the v6 5 speed manual transmission to the v8
A 2UZ in a 3rd Gen 4runner is pretty damn cool but it is a lot of work to pull off. Maybe it's a blessing you have a 5 speed.
Yes maybe but I'll still love to have the v8 power into a smaller car.
What are the core wires needed to run on the engine stand.
We don't know. If Mikey sees your comment, maybe he can answer it for you.
