I have a question, I have a dbw engine, the truck is dbc. Can I just replace the throttle body on the engine to dbc to make it work? Or do I need to replace the whole intake?? Obviously I would have to get a harness as well.
With the aftermarket intake manifolds does the stock V8 harness work, cuz the stock intake has sensors on top, where are they on the aftermarket intakes ?

@@Lsx.jxan1 I didn’t end up getting the crate engine instead I put that money down for a new car. but I still swap it to a stock 5.3 with full bolt ons. And the difference in power coming from a v6 to a fbo 5.3 with a good tune is amazing the truck runs way better really strong kinda feels like it’s always in sport mode it just ready to go a soon as you touch the gas pedal. The engine cost me 500$ and another 500$ to install it plus 1000$ on some other small things I needed to buy to complete the swap I spend around 2000$ with engine and installment and parts.
I am doing a 4.3 to a 5.3 swap in my 2004 GMC sierra. The 4.3 is a drive by cable and the 5.3 is a drive by wire. Was your throttle body on the new engine driven by wire or cable?
Smart move getting the extra 4L60 since stock ones are well designed but weakly built. I cut a sheet of plywood as a radiator protector when working in that area. Another ancient trick I learned is to cut a 6x6 to drop in on top of the fender LIPS then screw a 4x4 block to each end as a standoff. That lets you lie across the engine bay comfortably. I don't live in the Rust Belt so I don't hesitate to pull the front clip (anti-seize all the bolts before reinstall) for convenience but that seems to bother some people. Impacts (especially a 90-degree one, self and bro use the Harbor Freight style because the head is so thin when we harvest LS from salvage) speed the process greatly. Self and bro bring a tool kit with only the stuff we need for LS pulls and they damn near fly out of the engine bays.

2003 Chevy 1500 4.3 V6 You wouldn't happen to know what could be causing a misfire on my truck would you? Misfire only happens when I first crank my truck up and drive(no misfire at idle), it'll misfire while driving until you drive it for about 15 minutes then the misfire goes away. Let it sit overnight drive the next day, same thing happens again. Repetitive cycle.

It's not glued i it's dielectric grease & gm has a Problume with it becoming like a glue from heat its like it turns to tree sap i had 1 come out no problume but after a hot Az day i put it together a day later it was stuck.

@@dannyhunley5394 the very first thing is that he says Gen3 is DBC and Gen 4 is DBW. Well for instance the Gen 3 LQ4 6.0 ran from 99 to 2007. It was DBC until they went DBW in 2003. There are more examples as the video moves forward.
@@dannyhunley5394 V6 and V8 radiators are identical capacity. The difference being that the V8 radiator has a port for provisions for the throttle body bypass. Which is needed in cold climates to keep it from freezing.
@@dannyhunley5394 99 to 2004 Gen 3 V8s were a return style fuel system and the regulator was on the fuel rail. 2005 to 2007 were returnless and the regulator was in the tank. Same fuel pump for V6 and V8

Nice work... i currently own a 2005 GMC Sierra SCSB with the vortec 4.3L v6 and plan on doing the same conversion, but going with the Gen1 V8(350) instead. Im sure i'll have a much easier time along with parts to install the new engine, v8 radiator, reprogramed ECM, it'll be a daily driver, nothing fancy. The engine i have in mind is the GM crate 350 advertised 323hp/444tq, then i'll have to get an v8 MFI intake, the spider injector system along and other electrical connections, keeping it drive by cable and definately have the 4L60E rebuilt to handle the extra power. Sorry, but no LS swap for me

Mine was cable but if you can find throttle body that is drive by cable it will bolt on, just make sure you pay attention to where your EVAP system is

Nooooo the 2006 is a gen 3 motor. You need a gen IV. Reluctor wheels and knock sensors are different

It will fire but immediately turn off until you delete VATS
