Probably a dumb question but how did you make 50 ft lbs more torque then HP ?... Im looking to make more power in a jetboat which there all about torque so JW if its the whipple charger or something else......
Depends on the cam profile as well , you can spec a cam that is more torque oriented
I really wanted to see a V6 build. Just getting tired of seeing the same stuff I guess. Not just here... It's everyone. Texas Speed engine blah blah blah. Going to be one hell of a truck though!

Another v8 build, what else is new. Shit the 4.3L LV3 is as tough as they come. Put a turbo on that bitch and get rid of all the other crap, not needed. Guys making over 700whp in his LV3 turbo v6 Grand National. Running about 9 or 10 psi, in his 3800 he had to run 19 to 20 psi to get that power. I bought a set of LV3 heads, my goosh they were only $168 for the pair and they out of the box outflow aftermarket performance heads. They flow as much as Buick's stage 2 heads from the 80s.
@julius sims I almost 100% certain that they won't. What's crazy is that I actually have a set of LV3 heads. Are you by chance in Michigan?

The stock power is actually impressive for being the most basic V6.
I kno that's really good power at the wheels too the new 4.3 actually have potential I'd like to see one with basic mods.bolt ones and a 100 shot or something wish I had that 4.3 in my 2000 s10 my v6 one I Also got a.ls swapped 4.8 on a 100 shot
This was a sweet build! Except for the whipple, I wanted to do the same to the 4.3 that I had before I ended up selling it.

i don't even understand the concept of a full-sized truck with a v6. that's for the mid-sized trucks. full size should always be a v8 at least.
I agree for the most part but if they could make an Ecoboost sound like this truck I may be persuaded. The low end torque from the Turbos make them feel more powerful than they are. I've driven a fusion Ecoboost 4 cylinder and a charger V6 8 speed and the Ecoboost felt stronger and like it would be a lot quicker. In reality the charger has slightly quicker 0-60/ 0-100mph times.

That moment when you realize the 4.3 is an LS V6 💥💥💥 So many possibilities with these trucks!!
Not to mention how crazy light these engines are. Less than 300 pounds without fluids!

A little more detail on the swap would have been nice rather than a cut to the end with a complete motor swap. I get the camera guy got sick but a this is what we did would have been great.
Perhaps one day we can see someone do some modds to a V6 engine, that would be something out of the ordinary. Great video though.

If they made the Ecoboost sound like this i doubt many people would have a problem with it being a V6. If I didn't know it was a V6 I would think it is a V8

It's the 4.3 just 2 cylinders less than a 383 stroker? What I mean is; other than having two more cylinders, the 383 stroker and 4.3 are nearly if not exactly the same.
a 4.3 is a 5.7 with 2 less cylinders.... same 4" x 3.48" stroke...

Yeah chevy got lazy (very smart) and just took the 5.3 block and just chopped the two cylinders off making the V6; Everything is pretty much identical to the 5.3. 😂 4:32

I was thinking the same thing. I understand all builds aer different but a ballpark figure would be nice.
Probably north of $50,000.
You can fuck up that V6 if taking off the timing cover and messing with the balancer like that. It's no longer timed.
Had a truck like that with 5.3 The truck did A13.63 stock with the e 85 The truck was stolen and never found then I got a ford Much better platform made 800 horse at the back tires without opening the engine just a whipple

I would LOVE to do something like this with my 2016 v6 single-cab short bed! But for now, any info on the seat replacement? That part is more attainable for my poor ass than the engine swap 😀

Awesome build but yeah I want to see a V6 build and by that I mean the V6 that came in the truck not the old 4.3V6, the new stuff. It’s all aluminum and compact and would fit in something really small like a Corolla or something...🤔

I love my v6, it has a really nice sound at low rpms and its not obnoxiously loud with just enough power for anything besides racing (which i dont do because its a truck not a race car)
Unfortunately still not enough to defeat the Dirty Diesels! We are laughing at 700, try 1000pounds.

cylinder deactivation is dumb. it fails. so glad i got a truck pre-cylinder deactivation.
Yea I got a handheld tuner and turned mine off on my 2014 tahoe. ..it would drive me and my wife nuts going in and out of 4cyl mode....

But I think a turbo'd 5.3 with the 8-speed would have accomplished the same for less $$$
The 5.3 in this gen only came with the 6 speed.
