We're Lisa & Jeff Warnick and we've been repping Thrive freeze-dried foods for over 10 years. It's been a dream of ours to have a van to travel the country, supporting our team and sharing the Thrive love. After we built our first van, we realized how much we love the creative process of designing and building vans...so now we're building and selling our own custom vans. We also do conversions on client-owned vans. In this video

As i watch Thriv videos, i appreciate the thought they put into things and their willingness to share. Great job Thriv
Most informative video I've seen so far from a pro.
Probably my favorite van building channel on youtube right now. I would love a video on how you make the cabinet doors sometime.
Great suggestion!
Thanks for your video. What is the height x depth of your cabinet?
This is really the best video I have seen for the upper cabinets so far. This is very professional work. You can see the many years of experience. I will copy this setup for my DIY project.
Great video, really appreciate the detail!
Brilliant, elegant cabinet design!
Thank you for sharing this..I have seen prior videos on your channel where you talked about the upper cabinets… But the attention to detail in this was spectacular and I am going to try to mimic your cabinets.
Genius! Thanks for sharing!
What are the dimensions of the frame. I know you had said it's 90 inches but what's the other measurements? Really enjoy your videos. Very informative.
Excellent! I will have to edit this for my ford transit. I am doing my galley next week and have uppers above it
Wow, excellent video, thank you! I hadn't even considered simply hanging the shelves on the van metal like that. I bought bookshelf brackets and was wondering how I would line them up without drilling more holes. So appreciate the downloadable materials doc!!
Amazing! Thanks!
Great video, well explained, easy to understand 😊
Hi Jeff, any chance we can et the dimensions of all the parts, I believe the only size you mentioned is the 90" but how about the vertical a bars and the ones from front to rear, That would be a great help with my sprinter, Thanks for the videos
You discussed the nessesity to get the height & distance that the cabinets extend out just right, but you never said what the measurements were?
Thank you Jeff!
Great video - love the engineering - I have 2 questions though - do you use a metal screw and screw the hinge into the aluminum or just the ABS, and how do you keep the doors from opening on the road, the spring loaded hinge seems like it open too easily, thanks!
Excellent, as always. I did come across another solution where a 90° angle is fastened via rivnut into the upper truss and that that is secured to the 8020.
That would work. We used to use the 90 degree corner brackets, but you then must notch the ABS liner around the brackets. Also, there are so many holes in the ceiling truss that it can be hard to find a good spot to attach your bolt. We find it easier to just put a bolt through the furring strip.
@@thrivans Love the idea of oversizing the furring strip. I hadn't thought of that either. Brilliant! So helpful!
When will the kit be ready for purchase?
i need this for my toyota Sunrader
Great video as always. Many Thanks.
Curious whether you have tested the method of cross-drilling and end-tapping to achieve hidden joints. Less hardware and more strength. And have you an opinion on using Euro sizes, like 2020, 2040, etc.?
Amazing video we can only get 20x20mm or 30x30mm in our country is 20 strong enough or is 30 to overkill ? Thanks
You do such a nice job.
Great Video, I am using your method for my upper cabinets. Thank you so much for your instructions. I have just received my Utrusta hinges, but one thing is not clear to me. How do I screw them into the aluminum? In a previous video you mention you use a stainless steel screw (the ones that come with the hinges are not strong enough) right into the bar, but how do you do it? Are you using 2 slot aluminum and screwing into a solid side? Don't the screws from the hinges on either side hit one another? I would love some more details on this - thank you so much for all your videos - they are the best out here!
Love that ! I’ll do that. Just as a reference, what’s the height and width of that cabinet? Just trying to have references to start with. Thanks
Nice Jeff🎉
Hello thrivans. Regarding your rear fixings, which cling to the framework of your van or campsite car. Would it be possible to add a rubber band. Which would serve as a small shock absorber or silent-block, in order to avoid any harmful noise while driving. Clearly, make the set not completely united with the sheet metal or structure of the vehicle ..? Thus avoiding the noise of spreading throughout the passenger compartment ..! I hope you have understood all of my words. I use the Mate-Translate extension on Firefox, because I am French and I unfortunately do not master your language at all. Sincerely Jean-Marc.
Are non right-angle connectors available? I'm looking to use your overall techniques to build out my truck camper shell.
I love your channel. You will be my first choice when i finally take the plunge. Can you please give your input on van reliability between the three ( Transit, sprinter, promaster)? Im a personal who is most concerned about constant repairs and being stuck alone in the middle of nowhere. So much that i never keep a vehicle warranty has expired. You guys know first hand which of the three is most reliable.
Great video. Thank you for sharing Jeff! What is the best tool for cutting ABS sheet?
We use a CNC, but you can use a tablesaw or tracksaw.
Also, can you make recommendations on how you would do undercabinet lighting? Specifically how you would run the wire? Would you create a double bottom?
We use LED strip lights. If you use round puck lights, you would have to make a double bottom.
Looks very sharp! Couple questions. Do you ever use single anchor fasteners? I use them on the fronts because I was worried that the plates would come loose. Overkill I'm sure Also What do you use for cabinet doors? They look great!.
Thank you Jeff! How and when roughly can we purchase the cabinets for self install
what are the demotions you use for the cabinets in the Sprinter 170 model?
Would you provide the length of the legs for vertical and horizontal pieces on the uppers for the sprinter? Thanks
Another great video Jeff! Thank you. In another video you posted few years ago, you used 1/2 “ furring strips for the roof ribs and they were 2” wide. In this video you are improving/upgrading to 5/8” thick and how wide, 3 1/2”? What is the rationale for the change? Thank you!
The 5/8” holds longer screws. The wider pieces allow us to screw through the furring strips without hitting the metal ribs. We also bolt the upper cabinets to the furring strips. The wider strips allow us to do this.
Thank you Jeff, as always nice work on your vans.
What do you use for your van floor. My old van was 3/4 plywood, but that was heavy and got pretty beat up.
We use the factory floor that comes with the van, and then put 1/2" LVP flooring over it.,
Is there a cut list available for the upper cabinet? I couldn't find it if there is. Thanks
Not right now. We are working on it!
@@thrivansI would buy the cut list!
Transit High roof 148 ;length I would be interested in
Do you make the kits for Ford Transit?
Not yet. Stay tuned.
I to get some
Too much talk. Good info, but it's too lengthy. Worst is advertising too much.
