When I was younger, around 7 or 8, my grandma would talk about crochet and knitting quite often. I would try to learn to knit but I could not grasp it. Crochet and knitting always seemed so hard and alien to me that I never thought that I could do it. Fast forward to today and I have learned how to crochet and knit. RUclips has been a big help and this chanel was really helpful 😁

I’ve just recently learned to crochet about 9 months ago. First I learned on plastic bags to make mats and stepped up to using yarn to make dish cloths. I made about 37 for Christmas presents. After watching this video I know I’m ready to attempt my first afghan. Thank you for making your video’s so easy to understand and follow. I love to watch your video’s!!!

I started this the moment you posted this! And tried it in white but decided to add other colors. I love the blue and white that look like waves! THANKS Glenda for the easiest stitch to date that you've posted! It looks more complicated and yet is so very easy! I was searching all your videos for the double crochet pattern because I tried - (I promise I'll never make this mistake again!) another person's pattern and my stitches looked horrible and I couldn't keep up or understand what I did wrong! The patterns are very close with only a few stitch differences. When I saw your gorgeous pattern pop up I discovered I forgot my favorite stitch - the double crochet! And I was doing the single crochet all wrong! How did I forget 2 basic stitches?! (I can slay a granny square no problem but couldn't do that pattern! Why?)
Bless you for the ease and simplicity of you patterns and video's! I'm truly grateful! I adore all things you bring to us! Especially the stitch of the week! Ive learned everything I know so far from you! Btw, can you show us the cross stitch - "X" - that goes one step forward, double back, and uses a front or back post? This comes from the beautiful wave blanket made by Mikey at The Crochet Crowd. You 2 professional crochet artists are the most amazing & talented artists Ive found through dozens & dozens! The pattern is called "Breaking Waves", but Glenda, as easy as he can be - I can't do it! Its not the only one! I can't keep up. I was so frustrated. But I can do yours just fine! What do you think? Can you possibly help us all with a simpler way of doing other patterns that someone else has posted? Is that allowed? It's just that there is such a huge wealth of gorgeous patterns out there to share for free, but what happens when dozens of people have a problem completing the directions? I read the majority of comments to understand the patterns and ease, and many have questions or are completely discouraged! I want to say I love your wave pattern! Thank you again! But suggest to me an easy textured pattern for depth & looks that is easier that that lovely cross stitch I can't figure out! (Love you Glenda! Thank you!!)

So very pretty! I just so love that white and blue/green water color yarn combination, it's so fresh looking and beautiful for a baby. The "TV crocheting" pattern is so great because it's easy to take it on the go also, I would work on an easy stitch pattern years ago when I would take my project with me to work on the train. Going to try this one out for sure! Thank you for teaching us this pattern and can't wait to crochet along with you on this feathers and fan stitch! Thank you, Glenda! :)

This pattern has become my favorite ripple stitch. So easy and so beautiful! I read that it was created by Persia Lou. A few years ago I came across her story about how she loved this ripple pattern in knitting form, but she just couldn't knit. She tried, but gave up. So she decided to figure out a crochet version and came up with this pattern. She made her first blanket with a Q size hook, Extra Bulky yarn in white, and gifted it to her mother. She later posted a graph of the stitch sequence on her website. What a great pattern! My congratulations to Persia Lou!
By the way, I have a recommendation for crocheters who find it hard to learn to knit:
Try to learn English style and not Continental style.
It is a lie that learning to knit Continental style is easier for crocheters. It looks similar to crochet but it is very different in many ways.
Learning to knit English style is the easiest way for everyone. Crocheters are no exception to this. After you learn it this way, then take your time to learn Continental style, with patience and perseverance. Meanwhile you will be creating beautiful knit pieces using easily the English style.
