When I got married in 1985, one of my great aunt's crocheted a blanket in this pattern as a wedding gift. My husband and I loved it, used it and wore it out! I've been searching for this pattern. I'm thrilled to be able to crochet a replacement afghan! My sample/learning project will be a short, skinny scarf. Then a throw about the size of the wedding gift. My son gave me some yarn and I wasn't a fan of one part of the colorway. I'd ripped that project 3 times! Then I saw your video on viral granny afghan. That project is now about 36" and the one section of color I wasn't thrilled with in the previous 3 attempts is okay in the viral granny!

First off, thank you for doing this awesomely made video tutorial. When I go to a video and before I watch it, I look at the comments. If the viewers are asking questions and the uploader is not answering their questions I move on. So many people will upload a video tutorial and than never respond to the viewer who is having trouble figuring out a stitch or part of the pattern. But you, on the other hand, is magnificently thorough and you have gone through the comments and answered the questions. Secondly, I have been looking for a pattern for a shawl, or wrap for my son's grandmother so that she can have something to drape across her shoulders or lap and so I thought a wrap would be perfect for either shoulders or lap. And I wanted something that wasn't full of "holes" or something that wasn't heavy yet something that would be warm this winter. So this pattern was perfect and the yarn I am using is perfect for it too. I am not a fan of the cakes because they are too bulky and stiff like Red Heart...don't like it. So I am using Yarn Bee Dee-Lish Boutique in Plum Bunny. It is turning out superbly and with the size G hook it is light and soft and squishy yummy! Oh, yeah, another thing; when I started I used the sc foundation chain and it made the edges look very neat, so I suggest you do that in the future for a smoother and neater edge. Again, thank you so much! Happy crocheting.

LOVE it! Very similar to a baby blanket I made 45 years ago (ACK!!!) and want to make for a someday great grandchild...but I really don't enjoy knitting as much as crochet these days.. how did you get yours to work being left handed. mine did not. That which should be fanned out is concave and that which should be concave is fanned out. If that makes any sense. It matters when you start the 3rd row. I don't have enough stitches to make it work out. If I flipped my work upside down....then it is like the video. But I am not crocheting on that end.

I made this pattern years ago with knitting. I decided to knit another one, but kept messing up the count. I found your crochet pattern and I'm going to crochet it. So I finally got my hands on some mandala yarn to make something for my mother. In the color of “spirit” She gets cold at night and wanted a shawl! Couldn’t decide on a pattern or stitch! I vote for Fiber Spider! I was trying to do this using a pattern from another tutorial - but the " fun row" was just mind boggling because of many reasons- it was all done in treble crochet- which isn't difficult but for some reason I could not get the rows to match up - double crochet with single crochet - much easier. I don't have to worry about counting " chain one" stitches! Thank you!

I would like to do this pattern for the bottom of a dress, working in the round. I believe by omitting the plus three chains it should work. I will also try a blanket as well. Love your tutorials.

Wanted something with a wave or ripple for a certain yarn, and wanted it to be simple without being boring... this was perfect!
