Hello Everyone,
It's Stitch of the Week time again. This weeks Stitch Pattern is called the UP and DOWN Stitch pattern. A beautiful textured stitch pattern. This is more of a intermediate skill level, but I feel even a beginner can do this stitch pattern if they take their time and follow along with the video. This is the stitch pattern for the Alaskan Nights Afghan I posted, so take a moment to check out the short video on the Alaskan Nights Afghan. Have fun learning a new stitch.
You are good teacher . I like this stich .
So glad I came across this. I’m making 3 scarfs using a pattern like this (except it uses double crochets instead of a triple front post) from a different you tuber all in one color (striping yarn) and have been having trouble figuring out where to put my hook when I put it down and pick it up later. This tutorial has made it clearer to me. Thank you so much!
Thank you, take care and be safe.
Well this lovely lady got me going on this stitch and now I can't stop it's the only stitch I do you can just put it down anytime and you have no worries about where you are just pick it up and off you go I thank her so much she makes it so easy
This is a really pretty stitch pattern.
Beautiful pattern, thank you again
Really enjoyed doing this pattern
I cannot get over this stitch... Its beautiful
I've always admired this stitch, but found it very intimidating. Thank you for breaking it down with such patience and clarity. Great video. Thanks for posting.
This stitch is fantastic! Wasn't sure what the reverse would look like and am blown away how great both sides look! A truly reversible pattern, each side very different, but equally beautiful! Thank you Glenda for sharing this.
Hi Glenda, thank yu so much for yur wonderful awesome patterns, and also for yur patience and absolutely easy to understand teaching techniques, I have followed a lot of crocheters on yutube, and yu are the easiest to follow. I sincerely appreciate yur step by step , no rush way of teaching a new stitch. Bless the dear heart.
I love how you take the time to do three examples.
Hai Glenda , super st of the week #217..... bit confusing in the beginning but only till we get the hang of it......Thank U 4 sharing,, take care & God Bless 👌👌👌
I like the pattern this stitch makes, very interesting texture. Sounds like you have a wonderful little helper. 💗
Love the one with two colors..
Been crocheting about 55 years, it would've been "shame on me" if I hadn't caught that missed stitch. I'm glad you called attention to it for newbies. I love your vids. Would love to see more projects taught even though some of these stitches are new to me. My main focus is closing the gaps of bygone crochet. I like it more dense without the discomfort of real tight crocheting. Thx Glenda.

This is so pretty. I do appreciate the fact that you are working with Red Heart Super Saver. That is about all that I can afford. So thanks for that. Love the colors you picked.
This is so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful technique with us! You explain everything so well!
Thank you for the great tutorials. I've just gotten back into crocheting after many years and have been making a bunch of swatches using your stitch of the week series. Your voice is very soothing and I like your close ups. very helpful!
This pattern is absolutely beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing this with us!
This stitch is so beautiful. I've finally found a contact so I can start making hats for the homeless. Don't want them all to be the same, want them to have choice and colours. Think I'm going to have to bulk watch all your videos. Hope you're having a beautiful day xxx
Thank you for teaching me this new and easy stitch. You're a good teacher, lol! I didn't know how to do a triple crochet yet, so thanks for teaching me that, too, lol!
Grandma I have made washcloth love the pattern I love the way you teach I have had two stroke couldn't use my hand at all that the reason why I need to be close to you my jewel. I 'm watching every day I can >
Beautiful!
I love this stitch and it's not as hard as I thought it would be. My only trouble was using such big crochet hook. My stitches looked awful because I couldn't keep a constant tension. So I am going to use a smaller hook. I'm sure it will work. Thanks for the pattern!!
It was easy to see, using those colors and contrast really helped.thanks
Hi lovely tutorial grandma, thank you 👍 this is one of my fav stitches. It is also called alpine stitch.
i did a baby cocoon in blue and white with this stitch thank you grandma!!!!!!!!
This is such a pretty pattern! Thank you for your good tutorials, I enjoy them all! I think I'll use this pattern and make cowls for Christmas gifts. It will be a great stash buster!! Many thanks!!!
Hi Glenda. Thank you for the tutorial. This is such a pretty stitch. Thank you for making it easy. You’re going to make this beginner look like a pro!! 😀
Hi. My problem is solved. This stitch is perfect for two, two color blankets. One black and red, one green and black ..one each for autistic grandsons. They will be thrilled come Christmas. Thank you for the stitch and pattern.
I can't wait to make this when the weather is cooler.

Creative Grandma u
That is si pretty! Thank You so much for sharing your talent!
I would love to make some scarfs and an afghan with this stitch. Thank you for your video.
I just did this exact pattern but it was called the alpine stiitch. It works up beautifully! Thank you I really like your videos.
I've seen it under that name as well, but all of them had front post doubles instead of triples, and I find using triples easier, as I couldn't get the doubles loose enough.
@@dissodatore I made a queen size blanket using this Alpine stitch from another site and it worked up like this one using double, triple & single crochet. My edges came out very straight though. I found it through pintrest.
Hello from Tasmania, thank you for you videos.
Most interesting stitch presented very well
😍😍😍😍 Thank you Lady 😉
Nice
I like this pattern and I love you my friend!❤️ Its a rainy day here in the south, so, I'm crocheting this pattern in Red, Black and White for my great niece and nephew (school colors) and, yes ma'am, I'm having fun!!!
tyvm!! this will be my next blanket! you make it so easy to love to crotchet 💘 💘! !
This was great, thank you. Your pace and explanations are great.
I love, love this stitch. The tutorial was excellent.
oh thank you. I was excited about this patten. I will definitely doing this soon.
Great pattern! I think it would work well if you have skeins you want to use up and lots of extra of one color like white. Alternate rows of colors and white would be a cross between the white and blue and the multi color one. I have several skeins of white from different makers that do not match enough to use in a single project. An afghan made with this pattern, will get rid of those skeins and use up some other colors that I have languishing around my stash taking up space. Thanks!
I like this very much! I'm kind of new to crocheting, so I appreciate your thorough walkthrough. I used a fdc to start the stitch so that it could be stretchy (just learned today). I want to make a cowl / infinity scarf for a friend with this pattern. I'm thinking probably the former. Thank you. Great video.
Thank you for sharing! Clear instructions to a beautiful pattern! Xx
Beautiful stitch I plan on using it on the baby Afghan I'm getting ready to start
Darn it I wanted to be subscriber 17000. I just found your podcast and am a beginning crocheter and a knitter for years. I really enjoyed your podcast.

I was wondering if you put a border on this ? I’m trying to figure out my measurements for a finished full size Afghan. Thank you very much for all of your wonderful tutorials. I just love how you teach, I’ve learned so much 🙂💕
Really enjoyed watching the video thanks
Thank you. Love this . You make it so easy to understand . Much appreciated :)
Love your videos you explain so good etc
Glenda, you can also do this stitch with all double crochet on the non as rows. It gives it a different look, just as beautiful as this one.
I love this stitch pattern. I've always had a difficult time finding patterns to use muti-color yarn with, but this is beautiful. Thanks Brenda! 😊
