  • Apache Tears Crochet Stitch - Right Handed Tutorial - How To Crochet - Easy Crochet Stitches
    #apachetears #crochetstitches #howtocrochet
    In this right handed tutorial, I show you how to crochet the Apache tears crochet stitch. A beautiful stitch for for a blanket or wherever you would like to have 2 contrasting colours together.
    In this tutorial, I have used an DK yarn and a 4 mm crochet hook.
    When making your foundation chain, decide how many stitches you want between your dtr tear stitch e.g.
    6dc + dtr + 1 chain for turning = create chains in multiples of 7 then add one extra chain at the end for the turning chain.
    ***UK crochet Terms used throughout****
    Do you only use the US crochet terminology? No problem! You can download my free Conquer Crochet project folder which, amongst other things, has a conversion chart for US to UK terminology. Click the link below to find out more

      I crochet over the new thread for 5/6 stitches at the beginning and lay the thread from the previous row behind my work and crochet over it for 5/6 stitches at the end.

    Instead of cutting the yarn at the end, could you just work in the front loops on the backside? I'm trying to eliminate excessive weaving in lol

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  4 года назад +1

      I guess that would work for the first few rows but you'd need to cut and work each row from their on as the front loop double treble needs to be worked on the right side. Let me know if it works. Always up for not sewing in ends 😁

    • @Calagm
      @Calagm 3 года назад +1

      Try looking up "double border", you'll only have to weave in the border ends then

      I had the same question. Did you make this and how did it work for you? Also I wondered if you could do a twisted fringe edge, eliminating all that weaving

  • @deecochrane2340

    I'm confused. If you have multiples of 7 + 1 how do you get a chain of 52. Please help. Thanks

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  2 года назад +3

      I didn't mention making chains in multiples. You can make your chain as long as want your project to be. If you would like multiples of 7 then +1 for turning which would give you 6 stitches and a tear repeated pattern.
      Hope that helps?

    I don't tuck my ends in on that blanket that would be my fringe

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  9 месяцев назад

      That's a great idea. It really depends on the look you want. Are you making one now? 💗🧶

    Is there a number of chains to start,even or odd numbers

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  2 года назад

      It all depends how close you want the tears to be to each other. If you had multiples of 7 + one for turning that would give you 6 stitches and a tear in each repeated pattern. If you wanted the tears closer or further away you can decrease or increase the multiples then add one fir turning. Hope that helps? 💗🧶

    Hi. Can this pattern be crocheted in the round ?

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  2 года назад

      Hello. Yes it can. You would need to join each row and chain 1 for the height in the next row.
      Hope that helps x

    At 4:24 you tell us to finish off our row 2 with the back loops only. Then at 4:29 row 2 is missing and you have us cut and reattach for row 2? Am I miss understanding what is going on or is it an opps in editing? Sorry, just confused. Thanks!

    So its a multiple of 7 plus 3??

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  Год назад

      It depends how many stitches you want between the tear stitch. I had 7 sts then a tear so you could make a multiple of 8 plus 1 turning chain. The main stitch is dc (UK terms) which is sc in the US so you only need one for the height. The tears stagger, so ultimately you can have any number you want in your foundation chain. I hope that helps? X

    Very hard to understand.back loop stitches are single crochet not double.a newbie would get lost from the start.

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  4 месяца назад

      Thank you for your comment. I work in UK crochet terms (as it says in the video title) where a dc is the same as a single crochet in US terms. Sorry if it caused you any confusion. I personally wouldn't recommend this stitch to a beginner.

    How do you sew in the ends for the pattern?

    • @ConquerCrochet
      @ConquerCrochet  3 года назад

      Hi Mary. Thank you for your comment. I would weave my ends in between the usual way. I like to weave into 5 or 6 stitches back and for 3 times. I talk about weaving in ends in this video

      I hope this helps?
