Guys, plenty of y’all have stated that “I could have pinched off the discharge line”. Yes I know that. But I will not do anything without an approval. This customer always finds away to not pay the bill so I will not do anything that will put the company at risk or I will not do anything without an actual approval.
That’s the reason why I left it as it was. It’s been like that for who knows how long. So???🤷‍♂️

You know what I do with customers who bitch about and pick apart bills when they issue a NTE that barely gets diagnostic time much less any repairs? Tell em the phone book is full of other guys. Call them, and lose my number please. If I wanted to do volunteer work I’d join the peace corps.

    •  4 года назад +6

And I’ll bet you will take anything and everything that comes along including shit which I take none of. My customers respect me and request me because I treat them fairly like adults. You obviously have no experience with brokers or national account customers otherwise you would know they are assholes who think they are doing you a favor by allowing you to work on their shit. A NTE that is eat up with travel time by the time you arrive, check in lines, check out lines, take and email photos of this, submit that, then wait around to see if we approve what you say the problem is. I’m not the one with the attitude son, they are. I don’t jump through hoops for anyone. Almost 30 years in the field bud. More than likely Ive forgotten more than you currently know.

j kelz the problem is that you can’t show all of the basics all of the time in every video. I get your point but there is plenty of videos on other channels as well that show that. He’s pretty much going through the troubleshooting of his work. If you know the basics of refrigeration you can see his process better and understand it. After you watch a video just look up the part that you don’t understand. That’s how I do it and it’s getting easier to do on my own out in the field.

Pro tip. To save time, prevent incorrect wiring, with the power off, only one of the two terminals need disconnected to test a cap to isolate it from the motor. Then the wires can be returned to the empty terminal without risk of swapping a wire.

A good guess would be that someone told them that they don't need headmasters due to having electronic expansion valves. They removed the headmasters and connected the pipes whichever way they thought they should go, which in this case was completely wrong. I had a manufacturer tell me that a condensing unit we installed did not have a headmaster because the electronic expansion valve would properly feed the evaporator at any pressure. It worked great until the temperature dropped. They refused to pay us to add one. I just threw a fan cycle switch on it and it worked decent.

Those electronic txv are rated up to 6 tons, so every drop of liquid is probably getting into each coil. I bet each valv is maxed out at 249 steps. If it was a mechanical txv, no way it would be pulling down.

Don`t know how it works in the states but where i am from the good tech CHOOSE his clients and not the other way around.
I did get chosen when i was starting and proving my worth but after a few years i got fed up with the BS and waste of my time so now i choose my clients and IF they behave and pay me what i quote they get serviced or i walk away and most probably they get fleeced by the next hack job.
Let's just say they usually behave at let me do my work once they get effed one or two times, i even give them second chances once the rules are clear. Business have no regrets or pride...
Edit: oh and usually i ask 80 up to 100% payment up front on subtotal, that alleviates the customer's urges of leaving me without my pay.
