You know, I've fixed everything that's ever failed me, automotively speaking. I swore up and down I would never attempt an E4OD rebuild on my truck. But here I am, arming myself for free with the knowledge to save myself a shitload of money. Thanks for this series, very well done.

I've said it too and I've refused to drive automatics for that reason... Now that T-Bench has done the unthinkable in the transmission world and given this information to the able-bodied do all guys, transmission shops are probably feeling pretty dumb because it's no longer the greatest mystery on a vehicle!
Yard ornaments can become toys for us... I keep looking for great vehicles to build a new crawler denoted by those resale killing words, *runs great, but needs transmission!*

I know the transmission problems Americans have is scary, but I do see and have been seeing "rebuilt transmission" on a lot of cars being sold recently... I think it's becoming a much easier approach.

@@jwfmechanical9864 Yeah, but in an ad "rebuilt" means they added a quart of stop leak. "Full rebuild" _might_ include a new filter and gasket.

Just rebuilt my own. Way easier than I worked myself up to be.

The dislikes are from builders who are disappointed with you for sharing the whole job.

I've lost a lot of respect for Eric "the car guy". He devoted a whole video as to why he would never attempt a tranny rebuild. Its not been easy, but its very doable as long as you stay organized. Not nearly hard as I was told by everyone that it would be. This guy is a great teacher!

Do you do any air tests to see if the clutches are able to apply or if there is piston leakage?

I'm sitting with a club wagon that uses the intermediate piston with cover plate and snap ring. We tried using the newer piston like in the video (because the original's is perished) by shortening down the stem a bit to fit inside the cylinder, but wound up burning a drum as it seems to engage the band from the get go. So my question is: what specifically is the model called that still uses the piston with the cover and snap ring? No doubt finding another flat umbrella is going to be like looking for chicken's teeth, so all I can think of is to shorten the one we have's stem some more so that it stops engaging the band before needed.

Hello Sir, I have a question about the E4OD, I was reviewing your video to see if there were significant differences between the setup in the different years. I had a 1992 Bronco and pulled the transmission to install into my now 1996 Bronco. I saw in this video that there were 8 balls in the 1996 and 9 balls in the earlier 1992. I had a mechanic buddy change out the transmission but he did not pay attention to the connectors on solenoid pack. Would I be able to change the solenoid pack without a complete rebuild or would I have to complete the valve body change out with the gaskets and balls? I am still going through the video's I think all the clutch plates are ok. I would really appreciate your thoughts.
Thank you so much for your time and effort in putting this RUclips together I am indebted to you Sir.
    Kind regards,
    Roger

Hello sir,,,on my e4od my intermediate servo piston is way different than what you show in your video,,,it takes a spring clip,,a steel plate,,then the piston and spring. Its not one assembly. Now what do I do??

there was a woman who was losing her hearing and as it diminished her brain started playing back the music that she had heard during her lifetime. in Crystal clarity for her any way. like a sanity mechanism to replace the terrifying silence or something like that.

The transmission should have been left as pulled from the vehicle instead of pre-cleaned and re-assembled. Exactly like we will experience it.
