- How to take better pictures with your iPhone, how to set up an iPhone for stunning photos, what are your camera settings? These are the types of questions I get regarding the photos I share online. So I wanted to put together a quick video showing my settings so you can achieve the same results.

Did you sign the gentleman’s agreement?
With no hesitation.
Yes I did m8. :)
Of course I did signed the agreement, just because your work is to awesome to not follow on every platform. Your consistency is the key for your success. And last but not least, I just have to thank you for such inspiration that I take from you week by week. All the best today and always.
Done. Thank you for the time you put in. Very valuable and entertaining.

Just wanna say I’m happy you’re looking amazing and healthy. I remember the cancer situation awhile back and seeing you come back and shrug it off is inspiring. Much love to you and wishing you nothing but the best mate.
I was thinking the same thing when he was traveling constantly & showing us on Instagram ❤
What cancer? Am a new follower of this channel…can you tell me
Crazy right. He’s so strong. Love him.
Really enjoyed this, do you ever add a zoom lens to the iPhone, I see them advertised a lot
And he will be gone soon..
Can I just say I appreciate that you often have no intro animation or 30 second montage title sequence for your videos. Straight into it! No wasting time! Put it at the end! Great stuff brother.
amen to that

Pro photographer here. Great video. A lot of people will switch off after they see your settings but the real gold here is once you get into Lightroom. You're completely right that most people neglect geometry / transform and masking. It's that which make your photos stand out, much more so than using raw mode. Nice work dude!
These are also functions that you can only use if you have a paid subscription. Not everyone can afford them.

You can do all of the edits that he showed on the native camera app
@@sam_9228 I don't think the native camera editing lets you do the masking feature he did with the car that let him highlight the car specifically (halo effect, as he said). If I'm wrong, though, I'd love to hear how you can do it.
Regarding Live photo mode @4:19 I am SO glad I shot everything in Live Photo mode. Reason is two fold. One you can hold that image and get an audio clip. Other is I have photos of a close family member who recently died and I can hear their voice too. I am grateful for this mode.
Just the photos are not as good as when you shoot normally, plus you can' shoot in RAW with this. I only use it sometimes to take long exposure images. But in your situation I can understand why you are happy you had it turned on.
@@neszell What do you mean is it turned on ? You get bad photos ?
@@neszell I heard they would be a little but maybe not by much, but it's better to enable just when you want to use it and then shoot the rest as normal photos.
3rd cool thing is if someone blinks right when you took the photo, you can adjust the key photo so that everyone's eyes are open 😀
@@JDRos 4th cool thing is if you like the "For You" part of the default photos app, the slideshows it creates of your memories will include a lot more animated video moments, that really make the slideshows 100x more fun to watch.
I've been embracing shooting with my iPhone more, and the results have been excellent, and the constraints liberating. Thanks for sharing your process. Came here by way of your newsletter. Gentleman's agreement signed.
I've been shooting and editing my own photos for over a decade and I didn't realise just how much of a difference distorting the perspective makes. Thank you!
Bri me too! I edited 1000 DNG iPhone photos and I always didn't make right geometry for buildings.
By far the best iPhone Camera setup tutorial by a long country mile. A huge thanks for taking the time to put this together. Highly recommended
Exactly what I needed! Thank you Mr. Oliur! Means a lot!
These settings have changed my life! I've been absolutely livid in trying to fix the my camera for the longest time! Your video is a blessing!
Very timely video for me. I’m trying to get back into photography. These tips are very helpful. Thank you 🎉
You are amazing. Thank you for such a clear, concise run-through for the newest iPhone camera. I like to keep up with all the changes as I am a librarian - your content is “king.”
Signed. Always inspiring us Oliur. From your attitude in life to helping us level up our skills. You are amazing. Thank you!
Super helpful editing tips, I had no idea Lightroom was so capable on mobile. Great vid Oliur!
Incredibly captivating! Thank you for the info- I just got a 14 pro and it’s such a nice upgrade from a XS.
Can’t wait to watch more of your stuff- great ASMR too.
hello , is the camera really that better than the XS ? i mean selfies and humans photons should i buy 14 pro max ?
Do you recommend pro raw 48mp for daily photo taking? (lifestyle etc)
dont mind the storage it will take.
This is going to be for my Instagram - and I usually upload photos with no filters / edits.
I am definitely subscribing. Love how you explained every detail of your setting. I have followed through and I will start taking great pictures as well ( of cause with a lot of practice) thanks buddy.
I just upgraded to the iPhone 14 Pro. One of the biggest features for me is the camera. Miles above the older iPhone 11 I was using. Thanks for sharing these settings, I will put them to use.

@@SLICK6014yes then
Thanks Oliur! Was always looking for a standard settings mode.
Portrait mode is doable, in an emergency, and if done properly, usually with a more realistic F4 setting (you can do it in post), this is hit or miss, usually I do first some photo mode then I try some portrait mode, if the shoot I am looking for is well served by a blurry background. I agree that DSLR results are always better in this style of photos, but the fact is you have the smartphone in the hand while the dslr is not there right now. Getting the moment, getting the shot is priceless, I prefer getting a 5mp shot of the right thing at the right time rather than a 150mp picture 30mn too late.
amazing vid! Super helpful, I just got my 14 pro max and wasn't too impressed with how the camera settings come but after watching this video I'm super happy with it now! Thank you.
Great tips, so many different settings in the camera these days it’s nice to be able to dial it in.
Ooh years and years I was looking like this video, so clear so easy to understand. You are great 👍🏻
I’ve always avoided editing apps! You make it look so simple! Would love to see you present some Lightroom tutorials
I’ve applied the tips! I love the photo outcomes 🤗🥰❤
Beautiful video. I love how you have the lights and everything set up. Extremely clean and easy to look at. Wonderful job! The content of your video was great too. I think that you must be a perfectionist, because everything was perfect.
What a cool video to share, so detailed and I like the vibe. Helps me take my photo game up a notch.
The 3x is lower quality, yes, but as I like the perspective better, I use 3x a lot. (was the 2x on the 12pro) on my dslr I use 85mm a lot. My eye/brain/style works like this. My photography has not yet evolved to use wide angle well.
Yeah 85mm is also just more true to life, wide angle gives a more surreal proportion to things
@@andyh4464 I think using wide angle is an ability, for the moment this ability is slipping, I don't have it (yet). I do great with 85mm.
@@AlexandreLollini for most it seems to be easier to use wide angle, so for us with the 85 it maybe be more unique actually haha. but yeah i rlly like the 85 cause it captures many things true to how they are. especially poeple
The 2x on the 14 is a cropped version of the 1, so I get why it would be lower quality. But why is the 3x lower quality? I guess it's a completely separate camera from the 1/2x camera, that just happens to be less powerful?
@@joelface laws of physics, given the size of the lenses and the sensors, the 3x is better than the cropping that gives the 2x, but in low light quality of the 3x is inferior to the 1x even with its dedicated sensor and lens. However for perspective control and to get the good portrait shots the 3x is ideal. It's just less powerful than a DSLR with proper 85MM f1.4 lens. The iphone is honorable, and it is amazong to have such ability in a smartphone. You will always have lower quality when you intrease focal length with the same given aperture (and there aperture is just the front diameter of the lens)
Suuper helpful information. Much appreciated. I just switched back to iPhone after 10 years away and I am struggling with just pointing my 14 pro Max at a subject and getting a reasonably good shot as I got accustomed with my S22 Ultra. I am hopeful these tips will help me get the great shots I see so many other iPhone users achieve.
Great video, thank you, I didn’t understand all the different ways to take a photo. Now I am looking forward to trying everything out!
Great upload as always. I love these video ideas, keep them coming dude!
Just found you on RUclips today. You are an AWESOME presenter!! I learned a whole lot and will follow you again and again!! Keep up the great work and I'm so happy you survived your health scare!!!!
Such a simple but effective video, thanks man 🙏🏼
So calmly presented, no gimmicks, just great info. Just got an 14 pro myself, bravo sir, you have a new subscriber 👏🏻
Thanks Oliur this video was very helpful. Been meaning to update my settings.
Your style of video is very inspiring to me, keep up the good work bro
SO FREAKING EPIC! Thanks bro! I’ve had the 14 pro max since launch and didn’t even know about the RAW mode! Can’t wait to take some shots in the AM! 🔥
The last part really helps me since I’m a totally beginner and your comments explain your thoughts
Oliur, enjoyed this video. I've started using my iPhone to take more photos instead of a DSLR. I found the content very useful and look forward to implementing these approaches.
I know the iPhones can take great photos, I have an iPhone X and havent upgraded because I havent felt the need, my sig other has the 14 pro....and images are fantastic and no thought or effort to do image captures as shown in this video...personally, I want to start using my DSLR's and mirrorless (canon M50, etc) cameras ...I just want to "focus" more on the photography (no pun intended)...
In my experience if you are uploading Instagram stories, crop the image to 9:16 before uploading it and the quality difference is astounding.
Crop on lightroom or shoot in 9:16?

Wow thank you, this was the best video I've seen on iPhone settings. My photos instantly looked så much better! 🤯
Thank you for sharing your awesome work. I also appreciate your calm voice that does not make one rushed and jittery while learning :)
Very interesting videos. For the portrait mode, I have to agree that the iPhone usually is a bit too aggressive with the background blur. But you can tone it down afterwards and that makes a huge difference. I don't use it often, though...
You can tone it down, AND if it really messed up, you can basically remove it altogether by just bringing the slider all the way down. But, I've found that sometimes, especially with faces, it makes things look 1000x times better than if I tried to get the same effect without it.
The mask can also be edited with certain apps. @@joelface
Thank you for this video! This will certainly help me with my photo shooting/editing
Thank u so much for the very basic but extremely helpful tips! Will try them out now!

Great advice, and lovely crisp audio. Subscribed!
That was helpful, thanks! I've always used a dslr or mirrorless for 'proper' shots, but I've just gotten hold of an iPhone 14 pro max. You've convinced me that getting some pro-looking shots are going to possible. 😄

Great video. Thanks for the suggestions on using my iPhone for better captures.
Appreciate the perspective on editing, just subscribed but dont know if you have done a video showing the thought process of capturing the desired object, i think thats a real valuable video.
Wow. I don’t know how i stumbled across this video but after seeing it through till the end, i feel inspired to get an iphone 14 pro and to start trying to take some good pics! I currently have a 13 which doesn’t have a lot of the settings that the pro has
