Thank you for the Crayola marker recommendation. I bought my first bullet journal in December and have yet to start because I was thinking I needed these expensive colored pens to start. You got me to get going now. THANK YOU!!!
As a new bullet journalist, I want to thank you so much for your amazing videos, Amanda. You've inspired my bujo choices in so many ways. Keep your wonderful videos coming, please, as I learn from each and every one of them 📗🖊
Omg I literally bought my first 3 tombow markers a week ago and I definitely think I should have gotten black instead of the pastels I got. But tombows are soooooo expensive in Australia and I’m a poor 13 year old 😭

It totally doesn't have to be! Don't be daunted by videos like this. The only thing you really need to journal is a notebook and a pen/pencil. Some of us just like being a little extra~

Those books are really low quality and mine touched the perspiration of my water bottle... completely wrinkled up and bled all the ink everywhere. I got a really good $10 bullet journal from amazon. Ya, $20 is steep for me too.
I bought a grey one and the only problem I've had is that the Crayola Supertips bleed, but I mostly use colored pencils anyways. As long as my Micron pen doesn't bleed through, then I'm good xP

That’s an idea - I’d love to see a video about what you do when travelling Amanda, like you allude to in the coloured pen part of this one. What do you take with you to use whilst you’re away? Do you take your journal on holiday? Do you change up how you journal on long trips? I’d love to know these deets! Thanks for the fabulous empowering and inspiring content Amanda x
i was already obsessed with pens before i started bullet journaling because i’m an artist so i already had a lot of triples fineliners and some crayola supertips and gel pens and thank god!! i just started bullet journaling and admittedly i’m kinda broke right now so i’m so glad to have already had these and they work so well!
This was so helpful for me (a total beginner to bullet journalling), before watching this I was at a total loss for what to buy, and yes I was probably going to splurge all my money on colourful brush pens! Thank you so much for the advice xx
Just found your channel and I've got to say this: you're channel is awesome, it really inspired me to start a bullet journal. Wish me luck. You've got yourself a new subscriber! Cheers.
LEFTY IN THE HOUSE!!! I’m left handed and I haven’t had any issues with the Sakura pigma fineliner’s felt tip fraying or getting damage which is a blessing. If anyone knows any left handed person, the first thing they will tell you is how much of pain in the ass to find pens that works for them. Lefties usually push really hard when writing which causes the felt tip to get bent and destroyed a lot faster. Don’t even get me started with ball point pens! A lot of them skip so much even the signs pens. The only ones that worked for me is the paper mate inkjoy pens (that has a bullet shape body,) and the Pentel Energel pens. The ink don’t skip when you’re pushing hard and dries super fast which is a must for lefties because we tend to smear our hands when writing. Staedtlers and Pentel fine tip marker pens or or felt tip pens get bent quickly due to the pressure. Nice pens but irritating because the tip gets destroyed after a few uses which renders it useless. I love the Tombow fudenosuke pens but over time, the felt time starts to bend and not as flexible.. if they could make one that you redo ink refills, and tip replacements, I would be set to go! The Sakura and the tombows are archival inks too. So if you’re doing art drawings and sketches, use them if you’re planning to keep your art journal or wall arts, they are the best because they don’t fade over time and won’t react with other inks that bleed throughs. Lefties, we are the minorities so take these as youtubers adviser in a grain of salt. What works for them might now work for you. Research them. Buy a single pen to try out. If u like it, buy the multicolor packs.
my must-haves are... zebra mild liners, microns, jelly rolls, and tombo brush pens! all these tools are amazing and i use them basically for every spread

Lol not so much a stationary nerd for me. I use mechanical pencil for most of my journaling, as I make tons of mistakes and my handwriting isn’t always the best, so I like to redo some of my writing, which I can’t do if I write in pen. I do use markers to decorate, mostly pastels so I can still see the writing under the color. I’m not blessed with artistic skills so my journals are pretty basic, mostly geometric designs as those are pretty easy to do.
Always great work Amanda! I also love the Lamy Safari pens for fine lines. No drag. No delay when it starts - which is also nice about the microns. Smooth lines. Long lasting and durable and cool cases.
Shiina Marie i just got my limelight dotted notebook. It's thick and has lots of pages. It has a bookmark and a pocket at the back. I still don't use it because I only bought hours ago. Hope this helps
I’m so glad I found your channel. Just decided to buy a bullet journal and have been binging the Pinterest boards etc. I wanted to find some other Canadian bullet journalists and here you are
I know this is an old video but i just have to say, i agree with you with the black brush pen. I have many colorful brush pen and i dont really use it, and all i need is the black one. I just love them. Especially fude one. My personal fave is definitely tombow fude and pentel fude the thin one.
Quite helpful. I've gotten to a point where I carry too much and needed some inspiration for simplifying my everyday carry. Thank you . Clear and succinct.
“i’m not gonna show you all the pretty colors of the brush pens, this is a black brush pen and you might think it’s boring” me: bruh it’s hard to find a black brush pen in my city, you can only get in once a year right after the new year’s so around the 3rd of january, once i got my first black brush pen everyone wanted to use it because it’s so rare, it aint boring in my area
Crayola Super Tips are a must have for me too. I love my PaperMate InkJoy 300RT 1.0 M for writing if someone wants a ball point Pen that writes evenly, relatively consistently. To round out my pens, I use Staedtler felt tips. Something that I still want to try out that you mentioned are the micron pens for thinner lines!
I NEED my frixion pilot erasable felt tips. They smudge together and I've created some great effects, and they don't leak through at all. They are less pigmented, but it doesn't bother me!
I find it interesting that the Leuchtterm notebook is your favorite, when it didn't do very well in one of your previous videos where you tested which paper ghosted or bled through the most. Is ghosting just not something that bothers you? DO you have tricks for dealing with it or is it just something you deal with in favor of the notebook's other positive traits?
For anyone looking for a notebook that doesn't bleed and rarely ghosts try the Scribbles That Matter notebook. It is amazing and cheaper than the 1917. I have no idea why almost every BuJo channel recommends the 1917. (I know it is the official bullet journal but it doesn't perform half as good as others)

I started my first bullet journal in 2022 and have been having so much Fun using tombow watercolor paint markers! I look forward to watching through your videos to help me learn! Happy New Year!
Thank you for making this video - I'm new to bullet journaling & was literally just about to spend an absurd amount on coloured brush pens... have just ordered 50 Crayola supertips for under £10! I'm so happy!
Can you make a video on how to improve your handwriting. If you have one can you comment a link please!!! I want to journal, but I have awful handwriting.
This is the first video of you I watch. Great!! I wonder if you're familiar with the Sakura Micron PN. I use it, and I really like it. Do you know these pens? Greetings from Holland!
You are the reason why I fell in love with Sakura micron fineliner pens and Crayola supertips.. 😍 Still finding that perfect gel pen to write since I am using too much of my fineliner forvthe past 9months of bujo. 😅 Thank you for being inspiring! 😍
this is just a reccomendation.. if you ever need a good non skipping pen- go and get yourself a pentel energel 0.7 needle tip. its soooo good i love it and use it all the tiiiimmmeee its amazing and has a good grip and soo smooth @amandarachlee
Am I the only one who hates the leuchtturm? I bought one in Germany and it was beautiful but the pages are SO THIN! And it’s really expensive imo. I love the lemome one
Kaitlyn Corrick I like how the leuchtturm paper feels but yes! I hate it. It's so thin. I couldn't stand the ghosting. Even regular pencils ghosted! I'm much happier with my 5 dollars michaels journal 😑
Zulaiha Naeem They come in dot grid, regular grid, and blank paper. Look up in RUclips "artist loft bullet journal" to find in depth video reviews on it. Since I mostly use Micron fine liners, watercolors, and Crayola super tips, the journal works great for me. Sometimes there are little specs that do bleed through with some juicier markers, but I honestly don't mind it. The Leuchttrum's ghosting was worse for me to work with, and for $5 dollars I think the quality is there lol
Hope this little starter kit of supplies helps you guys out! What are YOUR must-have supplies?? ❤️✏️

Can you make a video on how to improve your handwriting. If you have one can you comment a link please!!! I want to journal, but I have awful handwriting.

I know how you feel XD
You can do cursive O's on one full page and continue. Your hand will hurt but the results will make you happy.
Here’s a link to her calligraphy and hand lettering for beginners video! (She makes it so easy!)

Hiiii
I’m early!!! YAHHHHH😊
I had no desire to even start a bullet journal (didn’t even know what it was) but after your videos I’m subscribed and starting my own journal today!
Kaitlyn Corrick what journal do you reccomend? I hate the paper of the leuchttrum too😕
ichibi drop is that a dot grid one?
Zulaiha Naeem They come in dot grid, regular grid, and blank paper. Look up in RUclips "artist loft bullet journal" to find in depth video reviews on it.
Since I mostly use Micron fine liners, watercolors, and Crayola super tips, the journal works great for me. Sometimes there are little specs that do bleed through with some juicier markers, but I honestly don't mind it. The Leuchttrum's ghosting was worse for me to work with, and for $5 dollars I think the quality is there lol
Kaitlyn Corrick I have the lemome one too! I love how little it ghosts, especially because I have a heavy hand. :)
