This theme is so so cute. My mom, who I lost to cancer this year, was a huge quilter, so this is doubly meaningful to me. I liked that you spoke about adjusting expectations and accepting your changing relationship to journaling. This will be my 8th year bullet journaling (and following you) and my second year of not starting a new journal or doing any yearly spreads at the beginning of the year. I am just continuing on in my current journal, which has plenty of space. It used to be a huge production every December to get my new journal set up. I’ve taken all that pressure off and it’s been so good for my journaling. And is this the first we’re hearing about a boyfriend? Congratulations!

Long time watcher here and I've kind of had a bujo break for the past 2 years because (similarly to Amanda) i don't really have the need for a planner like I did when I was studying at uni.... I'm starting work and really wanted to get back to something creative and now I'm watching this video after not seeing one for so long and I'm so inspired I realize I really missed bullet journalling but also watching your videos Amanda! You're so creative and I'm happy I still get to enjoy your work and art while going through all these different phases in my life (quarter life crisis is real, I turned 27 this year and feel like the past 5 years flew by without me doing really anything) and it's honestly nice to see that someone else my age made it through similar things and managed to accomplish their goals and grow into themselves...for the first time in years I am actually excited for the coming year and the changes in my life and I'm excited to plan my journal and have something that lets me look back at this year from my life 🥹🥹🥹🥹 sry for this long comment but this video sort of opened my eyes a bit haha ❤️ edit: Damn why is the comments section full of people going through the exact same thing 🥹❤️🥲 quarter life crisis really IS real huh glad we all embrace the messed up half journals of the past year and do what feels right

I've done monthly themes, but oftentimes, I merely glue in daily quotes, motivational messages, quotes, and photos. However, since I've done one writing journal a month for 8 years now, I've dedicated nearly all my art to my art journals. Good stuff. Great ideas, I use my notebooks similar to your new system where it’s mostly collections that are referenced. Todo are in my pocket notebooks and phone now. Allows the bullet journal to be more creative and last an entire year. Makes the investment with the extras worthwhile.

Hey, new subscriber here! and honestly coming from the first video I js watched from this channel, I have really been inspired by what you do from the get-go. For a while now, I've wanted to do journaling so badly, but I kept putting it aside. Today was the day I got my journal (and in a few days I'll be getting my supplies). However, all the stuff I have been searching about journaling has been so tedious and detailed - but the advice you give and ideas you have gives me so much motivation for what I can implement too. I'm doing this for the sake of my exam journey and my feelings (I'm just 16, so I will probably feel my life in its peak in the future) and it's been one hell of a journey so far. This year is the year I take my exams. To be honest, I am so stressed - I still have a lot of time before that to improve my grades even more, and I believe that committing to journaling even in itself will be a turning point in my life and will really help me keep me in schedule to the point where I can see myself improving not only with my emotions and stress levels, but with my grades. (and I think Amanda has just given me the best opportunity to make me a better person - I can feel it!) (also she lowkey gives off Laufey vibes) So thank you, Amanda! I'll keep watching your videos and commenting from time to time. Please keep up what you're doing - you're helping so many people like me without even realising it.
I started journaling years ago when I was in high school and uni and stopped journaling when I started grad school two years ago because life became so busy. Now that I've graduated grad school and am about to start my career, I was contemplating starting journaling again because I felt like it would be a good creative outlet and help me organize my life better with all these life transitions. Watching this video really inspired me start journaling again in the new year. I'm really hoping to take up journaling again in the new year and im making it a goal to stay consistent and utilize journaling as a way to navigate entering into a new career and adjusting to moving to a new city and acclimating to all the life transitions I'll be encountering in the new year :) I'm also hoping to use journaling as a means of reflecting on my experiences and scrapbooking memories and I'm so so excited ! I also just got a polaroid camera for Christmas so will look at incorporating pictures similarly what you did for the yearly time capsule page! This was such a cute theme, also a really amazing video. We all end up putting a lot of unrealistic expectations in the beginning of the year. With me we generally have our final exams at the beginning of the year so obviously after the beginning of the year journal entry I would end up abandoning the journal for like three months, and when i would return to it i would feel so bad for those initial empty months, but that is how life is and one shouldn't judge oneself for that

The unplanned and unexpected are the things that bring us the most joy. I am just like you. I need to reflect on this year before I start writing out my new year’s goals, but I am looking forward to the unplanned parts of 2025 😊. But if I had to mention one goal at this moment it would be to organize my digital files. We store so much digitally that we sometimes forget what we have. Great video! I am very excited for the coming year: I get to use my brand new doodle journal ! My Bestie has also wanted to get into journaling, so I got her one of your doodle journals for Christmas. We are spending New Year’s + weekend together to get our journals started. After that, our plan is to connect with each other at 9 pm each night to journal, then she’ll be able to get in bed by 9:30 pm. (I aim for 10:30 pm.) With me we generally have our final exams at the beginning of the year so obviously after the beginning of the year journal entry I would end up abandoning the journal for like three months, and when i would return to it i would feel so bad for those initial empty months, but that is how life is and one shouldn't judge oneself for that

Loved the editing of this video! I think this will be my 2025 quote "Sometimes the unplanned parts are my favorite parts" just love it and it is sooo true! I completely agree. The unplanned and unexpected are the things that bring us the most joy.
I am just like you. I need to reflect on this year before I start writing out my new year’s goals, but I am looking forward to the unplanned parts of 2025 😊. But if I had to mention one goal at this moment it would be to organize my digital files. We store so much digitally that we sometimes forget what we have. So, I am setting myself to get that done this year.

Great video! I am very excited for the coming year: I get to use my brand new doodle journal ! My Bestie has also wanted to get into journaling, so I got her one of your doodle journals for Christmas. We are spending New Year’s + weekend together to get our journals started. After that, our plan is to connect with each other at 9 pm each night to journal, then she’ll be able to get in bed by 9:30 pm. (I aim for 10:30 pm.) We are both really looking forward to this new year and new journal journey. Thanks Amanda for giving us some tools to do it. ❤️🌹
