Taking a look back at every single bullet journal spread I made this year 👀WHICH MONTH WAS YOUR FAVE? Vote in the comments! PS: My 2019 Bullet Journal setup video will be coming in a couple of days! Get it excited! INSTA: @amandarachlee
Hi! I have some suggestions for future monthly themes in your 2019 bullet journal! - Bee Hive/Honey - Desk/office supplies - or pens and pencils - Rainbows - Rain, umbrellas, puddles, raincoat, rain boots - Penguins -Turtles and tortoises - Antique shop - I was thinking of different lamps on a table maybe - Frogs, puddles, reeds - Bubblegum machine - Candy - Arcade - Laundromat I hope you see this comment and consider some of my ideas! Thanks! P.S. I love your Bullet Journal videos and I hope you continue making great content! You have also inspired me to start a bullet journal because I believe that it will help me stay organized and be more productive. I also think it is a great form of creative expression, and I want to practice calligraphy and drawing so this is a great way to do that. *Sorry I put this comment in so many places, I just really want you to see this because I thought about a lot of these themes, and I think they would be really good for a monthly cover page and different spreads.
I've never done anything remotely close to bullet journaling, so take following thoughts with a grain of salt: I really like your mood trackers and think they're very creative and artistic! But I noticed that you often used very light and pale colours to indicate a good mood, and darker/vibrant colours for 'bad' moods. So when I look at the mood trackers, I feel my focus directed to the more dominant colours representing negative feelings. I guess it doesn't really matter for keeping track only, but by switching the color vibrancy (bad mood=pale, good mood=vibrant) you can not only create an effective mood tracker but, when looking back, positive emotions will be more prominent and might create are mindset of general positivity. :-)
@alexandra brilliant idea! never thought of that but now you mention it, would very effective. (p.s. very well-written comment... always good to see someone w good grammar/spelling xd)
My spreads pretty much all look the same. I do almost exclusively weekly spreads and the only interesting part in those is my kinda pretty handwriting, always the same font and never any colour XD I do plan to change that, make journalling a little habit to calm down daily/weekly
But the bullet journal is so you can have more control of your life! If you want to bullet journal, you should totally do it. I think it could be great motivation to do more things you enjoy!
Don't worry, you can totally do a bullet journal without having many events. I'm the same but I still love it I have all the trackers and logs and monthly spreads and other stuff. For me it's more of a hobby rather than a necessity, but I absolutely love it. Hope this helps x
My top 5 fav spreads: 1. July (I just really LOVE the color yellow and my fav flowers are sunflowers so it's perfect) 2. September (I love space and planets and stars (my fav planet is Neptune) and it's blue like Neptune) 3. March (CACTIIIiii I love cacti and green) 4.June (the color scheme is goals and I like the creativity) 5. May (I don't really like purple but lavender is nicer and I like lavenders)
In order to not stress myself out too much, the very first quote I put in my Bullet Journal was "Don't Hesitate to Wait!" So I could remind myself to do exactly what you (Amanda) said. I want to remember to try to keep up, that keeping my life in order is super important, but at the same time, that if I can't, if I didn't want to, that it can always be migrated. This was to remind me that this book was to track, and to help remember. It is not law enforcement. It's fun!
I really like your bullet journal because you change things up so much. You’re not afraid to adapt your planning into new spread ideas and it’s awesome! When I was bullet journaling I got all hung up on things being different when I’d adapt my spread when I should have just embraced the experimentation!
This is the one and only time in my life I've consistently kept up with any kind of journal or planner! Started in September 2017 and found your videos in March 2018, and I totally think it's all your fun spreads that keep me motivated and into bullet journaling. 💕💕💕
first of all, im apologizing for my bad english sentences(?) if I have any grammar error plz let me know so I can fix it... dear amanda, I also can't believed it's already half since i started bullet journal with you!! I remember in mid January , I saw your vids, its inspired me so i decide to make it too and my whole 2018 changed🤣🤣 I love doing flip through because it's feel like we read our old memories. Anyway my birthday also in June!!! 4 days apart from yours (im sho happy😁 I cant wait to see 2019 and journaling/doodling with youu!
It’s funny how I would watch a 26 min video of someone talking about there pages they drew! While I can’t stand when my teacher does a 6 min walk through ✨🎄😆
I love that she shows the blank or “forgotten” pages, or the ones she didn’t finish. I have a few and I keep trying to go back and “fix it”, but it’s good to see you don’t have to force what doesn’t work or is seen as a mistake.
Once you fall into the black hole of stationery videos, you can never get out... it's starts with one video then another then another and so on. You can never stop...
Wow, your bullet journal is truly a piece of art! I especially love the creative spreads for all of the months and the doodles throughout the bullet journal. The fireworks (January) look so detailed and bringing the theme into every page really makes everything pop. I love how you made a very nice color scheme for February with the red, pink, white, and black. The clouds for April look so detailed and beautiful. I really love the idea of the dutch door style spread used in May and June. And I love how colorful the August spreads were. Although I love all of the spreads for the months, I think October was my favorite because I'm a HUGE Harry Potter fan. :)
I’m honestly obsessed with your bullet journal videos. They’re all so so helpful as well as the separate videos that go alongside the plan with me videos! I also struggle so much to keep at my journal daily so I have an alarm on my phone to remind me!😂
I am so inspired! I’m going to start a bullet journal for 2019. I’m having a baby in March, so I think it will be a great way to stay organized, have a creative outlet, and most of all, track my little bubs first months of life! I know it probably doesn’t apply to you, but I would looove to see some “baby bullet journal spread” ideas! Xoxo
I said the same thing when I had my daughter (March 2017). I could not make it work with my LO. I hope yours goes well! It's such a great de-stresser now for me and helps me kinda feel like I have a little more organization in my life (even though everything's really a mess!) 😂 Good luck and congratulations!
you could color code for the budget planner. Like a different color for under $5, under $10, under $20, under $50, under $100, and over $100 dollars!! For none you could put nothing.
okay i wasn’t expecting how nostalgic this video made me. i can’t believe i’ve been following you and your journaling for over a year and looking at your old spreads took me back more than i expected it to! thank you for an amazing year!
i took a semester off from school so i’ve gotten very lazy to bullet journal because there really isn’t much to plan, but this inspired me so much!! i love the polaroid a month spread, which i will definitely incorporate into next years journal now that i finally bought a polaroid camera. :)
💙 Yess!! Been waiting all year for this video! I'm 'kinda sad though, that the year has ended, so quickly! But, I'm so excited for this upcoming year, it is literally right around the corner now!!! 2019, will be good, I can feel it!! And, your videos will be amazing, too!!! Happy New Year, Amanda!! 🎉
i use a spreadsheet on excel for my expenses. You can find templates online, but i made my own. its really cool because if you're thinking of making a purchase, you can see how it will affect your budget before actually buying it. It's tedious to set up but really easy to use throughout the month. Hope this helps :)
Alternatively, certain apps and services exist that do much of the expense tracking for you. While it's not a bullet journal solution, it might be more convenient.
Oooo, every month was gorgeous, I can't possibly pick my fave! I feel you with the not filling some things in it but what I love most about bullet journaling is that it is flexible and you can switch spreads up if they aren't working for you
January - Fireworks 🎆 February - Hearts 💕 March - Cactus 🌵 April - Clouds ☁️ May - Lavender 🎍🌾 June - Travel ✈️ July - Sunflower 🌻 August - Fruits 🍉🍎🍍🍒 September - Space 🚀 October - Magic ✨ November - Autumn 🍁🍂 December - Christmas ⛄🎄
Your videos make me want to try bullet journaling again because they're just so satisfying, I tried last year and just like gave up not even half way through and I really regret that honestly
My favorite mood tracker I’ve done is for November (Thanksgiving month in the US) I had drawn a turkey, and each of its tail fathers were numbered. Then I filled in a feather each day. It was adorable!!
Your style is so inspiring! It has been difficult for me to keep up on the expense/budgeting sections too. Reflecting on why I thought the sections were important, I realized that my real end goal for those sections was to put more money into savings. This year I've added a Savings Goal section in my journal and I am so excited to test it out! I'm hoping that changing my mindset from "save what's left" to "save first, make the rest work" will help me stick to the plan and reach my financial goals. "Pay Yourself First," as they say!
this is the BEST bullet journal i’ve ever seen! i would literally pay you to just create the templates for each page and all i had to do was write in my personal content. you’re so talented!
Can’t wait to see how you set up 2019! I think my favorite months of yours was May and July! I love how much you vary each week and each month in your different styles! Personally I can’t bring my self to draw and design all those different types of layouts but I definitely get inspired to try from watching your videos
just barely started watching and i am so excited, also! your skin is looking SO GLOWY, I stan. I also preordered an archer and olive notebook upon your recommendation so i can follow along with you in 2019. good luck lovely!
Thank you. I have found using daily planners tedious and started exploring alternatives. You've made me begin setting up my 2019 journal fun and I'm looking forward to creating my own path. Thank you!
Yay Amanda! I just got a bullet journal as an early Christmas present, and I’m super excited to use it! I’m DEFINITELY going to use and take inspiration from your spreads! Thanks so much! Love you!
Born in April and honestly I loved the theme, when you flipped the page to reveal it I went ‚woooowww‘ outloud 😂 really love clouds!! Definelty my favorite theme! You are so talented.
WOW! Amazing! Thank you! I’ve just started learning how to Bullet Journal, today. Your video is a revelation of how creative one can be, when writing up the journal. Well done!
Loved the flip-through and the length, music, and commentary were perfect. I tried a bujo last year and switched to a dated planner for this year. This coming year I plan to do a combo and use the bujo for collections and tracking. I don't have the patience to draw out yearlies, monthlies, and dailies. My favorite spreads are the individual trackers that resemble mini-calendars. I'm so visual that that seems like a great way to see at a glance how you're doing. Congratulations on 1 million followers! I look forward to seeing what you do in the new year!
I'm with you - I also been using a hybrid sytem for 3 years. . My bujo is a hybrid between simple and elaborate - plus I only bujo my Collections - not calendars/planner. Easy peasy - with just a little rubber stamping and coloring with brush markers, plus washi tape. I did not want to spend time/effort drawing and re-drawing calendars and trackers/logs. That's not my mission. Also, I don't show my BuJos. I only show my art journals.
Loved watching your flip through. I am going to begin my very first bullet journal in January. I have been watching RUclips videos for inspiration and I can definitely say your flip through was very inspirational. Love the idea of having a monthly theme.
I just came her after watching your 2019 flip through and i just wanna say,IM SO PROUD OF YOUU!! You have improved so much in one single year its crazyyy! Even the 2018 spreads were soo pretty!!🥺so much love my fav❤️❤️
About halfway through this year I quit bullet journaling. I was always trying to do these elaborate spreads and they never turned out how I expected them to in my head and so I felt like I wasn’t good enough to bullet journal or I wasn’t proud of it to show people. But you are re-inspiring me to start! I am totally starting back bullet journaling in 2019!!
The beauty of bullet journaling is that your book can be exactly how YOU want it to be. It can be as Simple as YOU want it or as Elaborate as YOU want it. My bujo is a hybrid between simple and elaborate - plus I only bujo my Collections - not calendars/planner. I did not want to spend time/effort drawing and re-drawing calendars and trackers/logs. That's not my mission. Also, I don't show my BuJos. I only show my art journals. There's no law that says you are required to show/share your bujo. Have fun with your 2019 BuJo!
Wauw, I just started my first bullet journal and this is far the most inspiring and most beautiful spread ideas. Thank you so much Amanda for making this!
I love the habit tracker thing, I've been looking into a design that would work for me since there are LOADS of different habits I want to incorporate this year. And that's definitely something that I can make use of :)
Wow!!! I'm just starting out, but it's impressive to see what a creative thing a bullet journal can become. Totally inspired by the fireworks, clouds and sunflowers!! Thanks for sharing!
Please can you do a ‘how to start bullet journaling’, supplies that you recommend for beginners, and some ideas of what to include. I really wanna start, but I don’t know how 😂 Ps, love your videos, so satisfying to watch
you inspired me to start bullet journaling Amanda!!! I love you and your videos. Now, all of my friends will help me set things up.. its kinda like a tradition now
Incorperate your reciepts into your expense trackers so you don't have to write them all out. Put the reciepts in an envolope then colourcode the subtraction with the recipt
Heeeeey Amanda I've been thinking about how to track my expenses too, bc let's be honest witing down every transaction? ugh no thanks. So I think i'm going to focus on a problem area. For me, that's building back up my savings after moving, job change, etc etc. This could be adapted for anything, like if someone wants to eat fewer meals at restaurants...or stop buying coffee on the way to work...or cancel memberships they don't use, just focus on like one thing a month or something. Or maybe saving for a specific goal to make it more exciting versus just..."yay...i'm saving....and adulting...."boo. It could be the sread that reminds you "YAS I AM GOING TO THE BEEEEAAAACH this year!!!! " I'm hoping this will help me be more accountable. Love your videos. Beautiful work, looking forward to your 2019 setup.
Near the end of the year I found that using an app to track my habits/mood/memories and then jotting it down in my journal for an hour or whatever on a spare day really helps

This makes so much sense. I'll definitely take this into consideration.
That’s actually a really good idea! :)

I always felt that time is really slow but when I started bullet journalling, I didn't even realize that the year is almost over...
This is so organized and pretty. Dang.
excited for your 2019 vids!!!!
John Christopher Bacual woohoo!
Loved watching your flip through. I am going to begin my very first bullet journal in January. I have been watching RUclips videos for inspiration and I can definitely say your flip through was very inspirational. Love the idea of having a monthly theme.
I enjoy watching all your bullet journal videos. It's so beautiful. It's hard to see if you made any mistakes.
This has been a crazy year! Loved this video 😂😘😘💖💖

Wow every monthly spread is my favourite until I see the next one they’re all so amazing I can’t pick!!
Who would dislike this?? Like it’s so good and weirdly relaxing 😂
I'm doing a layered cake for my January mood tracker and 2019 will be my first time bullet journaling
Looking back at the January spread, I now realize that the year went by faaast!!
THIS IS SATISFYING TO WATCH SOMEHOW. (better than ASMR or slime vids)
Your bullet journals truly are a work of art!

Incorperate your reciepts into your expense trackers so you don't have to write them all out. Put the reciepts in an envolope then colourcode the subtraction with the recipt
I'm new to the concept of bullet journalling .. seen your videos and I'm blown away
June IS THE BEST!!!!
Love your videos Amanda
TY, you are my inspiration!!!
I love all the themes you made!!! They are so cute😍❤️
for the space one you shoudda put “moon tracker” it would be cute! 🥺😘
good one:)
Heeeeey Amanda
I've been thinking about how to track my expenses too, bc let's be honest witing down every transaction? ugh no thanks.
I'm hoping this will help me be more accountable. Love your videos. Beautiful work, looking forward to your 2019 setup.
2018. WHAT A YEAR. AAAAAH !! THIS YEAR IS ACTUALLY MY FIRST YEAR OF BULLET JOURNALING SO THANK U AMANDA FOR YOUR VIDEOS !! AAAAH 🤩💘
Near the end of the year I found that using an app to track my habits/mood/memories and then jotting it down in my journal for an hour or whatever on a spare day really helps
My favorite month/spread is The month of August and September..My Favorite spread, is the same as you, Trackers🤗
