    Hey shroom,
I live on the Georges river and that spiny fish is called a bullrout also the estuary stone fish, I've caught baby's like under 5cm and touché s the spines and no issues but I've caught an adult once it was around 35cm, yes very dangerous I believe they are in the stonefish family so avoid hands or skin contact
    Great vid

yo shroom jus a quick tip with some fish like bream and ludrick sometimes the best option is to jus free spool it and when you see it running you set the hook as the little fish will pec kbut the big ones will jus pick it up and run and i find with the free spool it tends to trick the fish and you can catch alot more doing it

Id also suggest a garden earthworm on a jighead, slow retrieve , also gets smashed by bream, flathead, whiting....

When using the jighead rig you might try feeding the hook in thru the tail first instead of like how you thread a plastic on. This way stops the fish from getting a good hold of the tail which can rip the prawn off, tail first lets the hook sit inside the meaty part of the prawn.

Hi mate. If it looks like a bullrout that’s enough for me . Steer clear.
Packet prawns are a very poor bait.
If you can buy Australian fresh prawns from your fish market they make a much better bait.
By the way bream love the head of prawns so whole prawn is a good option.

So dead sticking that on the bottom...how much better is that to a scented plastic...and would you do that with a scented plastic or would that be sub optimal? Why not just work it like a plastic
Do you understand what I mean? Like if a plastic is meant to imitate that exact prawn then why not fish it like a plastic....aren't you losing the lateral line "stimulation" and just relying on sight and scent with that bait on the bottom?

It's a lot better I think, I have tried many years ago working bait like plastics and they seem to attract small aggressive fish like tailor and snapper. I find the quality fish stay away from rigid prawn baits moving erratically lol

Not at all Vince, not belittling the prawn or anyone at all. I love using servo prawns, it's always a lot of fun and anyone can do it 👍
