I’m certain Carl and Alex will be responsible for bringing many into the sport with their human nature and passion for fishing. It’s never wained since those early RUclips videos. John Wilson was responsible all those years ago and in the online generation Carl and Alex are doing an amazing job. Well done guys.

    Great vid! :)
Very sticky, slowly dissolving groundbait works as well :) I use boiled cornmeal with boiled feedcorn, salmon meal, crayfish meal, belachan powder, chili powder, salt, sugar and L-taurine on a method lead (well... actually a gripper lead, but it works fine), combined with a helicopter-style chod rig type of thingy, which I used to make with supple braid, but recently started to experiment with coated braid to prevent tangles, and with sinking baits instead of pop-ups :) I just use bite alarms, no trouble with watching tips :P Sort of a fusion between carp, tench and feeder tactics gained from Catfish & Carp, Paul Garner, and you guys :)

I'm out fishing now until the morning. Your videos have helped inspire me to get out there again. Very weedy lake. Lots of tench and carp in here apparently but I've caught bugger all! I tried method feeder earlier and lost it in the weed lol. Blanking so far. Now freelining a hair rigged prawn and spam cocktail in clear spot in margins. Hoping for some night-time margin action. That is a perfect rod for carp fishing (catching 10lb + carp) but for quiver tip fishing with a small feeder it’s definitely too heavy.
With your rod, I’d fish a ‘bait up’ method feeder with a bolt rig (as shown in the other method feeder video on our channel) and fish that for big carp. :)

    Hey Carl,
This video is amazing.... I just got into fishing with the method feeder. I understand the basics of it but it want to finetune my skills. You are exactly explaning the things that i'm wondering and figuring out myself aswell. So far i only catched alot of bream, a nice roach and and a sweet 63cm tench :)
I would love to catch some more carp with it on a pond in our neighbourhood. hopefully with your tips i can catch some nice carp there. Your way of approaching and thinking are kinda the same as mine so as far it looks now its only patience thats left.
Greetings from holland and may you have a lot of nice catches in the future.
