Great vid. Supports what Jamie Hughes says in his method feeder master class. He says he's caught with un-baited hook inside. Tried this last weekend with 2" length & 4mm pellet on my local based on that & definitely got much improved hooking rate once fish had found feeder. When feeding was strong tried bait out of feeder with 2" & hooking dropped off immediately, then back to on top & got better, and at bottom was back to best.
Fantastic. Can’t wait to try this. Thank you so much for sharing Jo.
Great video Joe just amazing to see what actually happens in the water, great advice.
Excellent vid. Been doing this for a while with Drennan method feeders and it definitely does work, although my friends don't agree, which is why I catch more! Keep up the good work, but change the mug.
Wow ,watched this last week and tried it all out yesterday. The difference when loading the Feeder as Joe illustrated is unbelievable. Never missed a bite all day and this NEVER happens to me. Thanks young man keep up the fantastic job you are doing ,Cheers.
Class video Joe every day's a school day. Eye opener thanks for sharing. Great mug too. Thanks for sharing 🌟🌟🌟
👍
Great and interesting video. I do some underwater filming myself and it helps me understand a few things about what's going on beneath the surface, but it also raises some new questions. Nice to see someone else doing the same thing. Keep up the good work.
Thank Joe I've been loading my feeders like you shown in the 1st video but from now on im going to convert to loading them the "proper way" many thanks a great insight on feeder fishing 👍
I have been loading my feeder this way for a while, I am glad your video has shown what happens with the different loading methods. Thank you.
Glad it helped
Brilliant thanks so much for the tip , it makes more sense and i will try it when im next at the venue 😊
I have been fishing for 40 years but only started method feeder fishing this year. I am really surprised that most people don't know this method for loading method feeders. I have been doing this straight off the bat. Was just common sense to me, and hook up rates are high. Good video all the same.
IF it was 'common sense' EVERYONE would do it that way and no need for this video!
@@dalesmoocher6861 Maybe the fact that I've been fishing for 40years+ has given me more common sense than your average fisherman .
you don't understand what common sense means!!! That's how much common sense you have HAHA @@user-hl6th7ev9w
Thanks I have been doing it the other way for a few hrs thinking it was the right way but your footage as changed my mind and I will certainly be trying it your way, I always use the Preston's banjo feeder so this was of particular interest to me thanks. Years not hours.
Thx Joe, as always well explained, keep um coming. 👍
Great info on the new feeders and how to load them, pity about the mug !!!!!!....thats the one with tea in it !
😅
I tried this for the first time yesterday Joe. It works a treat, my catch rate has instantly improved. I didn't miss a bite, or lose any fish all afternoon. Infact bites were unmissable, (and I had a lot of them) wrenching the tip around, and every fish of my superb mixed bag was hooked in the bottom lip. Never again will I revert back to the old way, of putting the baited hook into the mould first, so the hook bait can be seen. This way has revolutionised my method/hybrid fishing. The trouble is, I'm keeping this a secret, I want to keep this trick to gain an edge.
It kinda makes sense, a few years ago, before we started using moulds, I put the hook in first, then piled on the pellets or groundbait. Then when moulds came out, I think a lot of people forgot that it is reveresed lol Great video
Genius!thanks for making this underwater footage......
A great video thank you. I have not tried method feeding yet in my 6 months or so fishing experience. I went to the tackle shop yesterday and purchased two feeders and some long life sticky pellets for a session at one of my local fisheries today.
I have 3 rods set up and use one at a time, the first one had maggots on. I never got any bites on at all so I switched to another rod where I could use either bread or worms, i tried it with bread at first and still no bites. I then banded a lob worm on and caught two decent sized carp then nothing at all.
I got the rod with the banjo xr on and cast it only a short distance then sat down and waited in anticipation. I did not have to wait long before it struck off across the lake. I caught my first carp on a banjo. Then it was none stop for an hour or so each time hooking a fish. I did loose a few which is probably due to my inexperience with carp but nevertheless had a great day fishing on a cold windy day late in October which I put down to this great video.
Brilliant Joe mate! Thanks
Hello Joe,, great vid,,one of the easiest but most informative I've watched for a while,,cheers,
😄
Great video Joe.
I`ll deffo give this a try next time out
Hope it works 👍
Great vid. I've always wanted to fish banjo/hybrid feeder but it was banned at my local venue... Until today! Can't wait to try it out. Cheers
Most informative video I've ever seen about any kind of fishing. Just getting back into it after a number of years. Caught a sturgeon on method feeder yesterday at Whitmore in Kirkham. Might have to try the banjo feeder
Nice one Joe,i will try it this sunday on mine local fishery, tnx for info!!!! 👌😀😁😎😎😎
😎
Good tip thanks will try next time out
Very thankfull for your video which showed me something interesting which I never thought about. BTW I subscribed for more of the good work you do with those videos.
Brilliant video, thanks. Pick my XRs up today. Look forward to catching more fish!😉
Hope u catch loads
Very interesting, makes sense. I will try this for sure. Thank you!
Please do!
Great video and info , shocking mug though . Thought about this last week and started loading my flat method the same and definately made a difference
brilliant video joe well done, and it make's perfect sence thank you for that😎😎
👍
Brilliant vid for someone like me whose been away from fishing for some years due to work demands. How things have changed. Thank you, oh, and keep the mug. 👍
Great video thank you can't wait to try this. I feel I've been taught a fishing technique by Guy Martin 😉
:)
Lol I thought it was Guy Martin too at first.
wonderful presentation - excellent! a trick that I will definitely try in the coming days! Thank you very much!
Have fun!
Brilliant thanks mate
Have been using the guru x feeder with the line clip to adjust the length of the hook link bagging up
that is awsome to watch makes you think how long have we all been doing it the wrong way
Awesome Joe,thanks for great tips 👍
👍
This has been a very refreshing watch! I’ve said for years that when fishing a feeder fancy hookbaits are completely irrelevant and if I’m using pellet in the feeder, I use a pellet on the hook…..granted it usually has to be a 6mm cus a 2mm is kinda difficult to lassoo 😂
But, as you’ve said and found, the fish are coming for the pellet, not for a single, fancy coloured or flavoured hook bait that costs 10x more than your standard pellet.
In fairness I’ve usually placed my hook bait mid way in the feeder, and had excellent success (but bear in mind that’s a pellet on my hook, not something different, so even if it did slip occasionally off to the side by an inch, the fish were still seeking it because it’s a pellet!)
Having watched this tho I’m def gunna give it a go loading the hook bait even lower and in the base of the feeder.
Great video to watch, well worth the effort you put in to create it for your own benefit and everyone else’s! 👊🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice one joe, your video has gone i bit more into debth than others i have seen before and explains why it should be done one way over the other, it would be interesting to see more like this on other methods
Glad you enjoyed it
That's amazing. I'd love to see popups and wafters under water!
Thanks Joe, great review 🎣🎣👍👍
👍
Thanks Joe 👍 so helpful that !
Used this method for quite some time but found that the hook bait would sometimes get jammed in the vanes of the feeder and would still be there when I reeled in
Very interesting, nature is hard to beat! Makes sense why Findlay uses expanders as his feeder hook bait of choice.
Absolutely does
Ive always done it with the hookbait at the bottom of the feeder. Nice to see it works
Absolutely brilliantly sussed out.
Liked and subscribed :))
Thanks enjoyed this buddy nice one 🎉👍
Hi everyone hi jo ive done this way for years I use it on my hybrid feeder never did any otherway great video my best feeder is the hybrid feeder and I use a size 10 or 12 hook and a 4 inch hook link the lardger hooks keeps your hook bait in the center stay well stay safe tight lines.
Great tip hopefully?going fishing tomorrow will give it a go.
Brilliant. The video explains a lot.
👍
Great video joe , also I think Waffters make the wafte away from your freebies 👍
Great video ,explains why I always caught more fish when I loaded the feeder by hand because I would grab a handful of groundwater then push the hoobait in put the feeder on top which meant my hookbait was on the bottom as in your video
WOW !!! Food for thought.
Lovely to see isn't it
Great video. You just conirmed, that i was loading my feeders right. Keep up the good work!
Go on Sebastian 💪
Love fishing the method. Thanks for the tip. Of course you could increase your chance of hooking up more. You've got two routes. Maybe Preston could help us all out.
I think you could get a artificial bait manufacturer (like Enterprise) to produce a neutrally buoyant or wafter type plastic bait that looks like a clump of 4mm or micro pellets, or get someone like Sonubaits to make a hookbait that looks like a little clump of micros. That way even it does slide off of the feeder it still "matches the hatch".
Thanks for the video and footage especially as it was free 😀
Thanks for watching
Wafters and fancy colours hook baits on methods are not as good as we have lead to believe. Many Thanks for sharing Joe 👍
Great video , lots of really good information. I’m definitely trying this on my next session. Also this has made me re-think my actual hookbait. Thank you for sharing 👍🎣
Woo yet for years I have being doing it wrong lol.no wonder I don't catch much lol..great little video
👍
This is a really helpful video. I have found the mega method rigs at size 10 seem to be good at keeping a 10mm wafter in place. I tested in a bait bucket and a lot of lighter rigs "waft out" the pile unless you use this method.
Glad it helped!
Great upload , bit like toast alway lands buttered side down 😂
Great video I do this and I also try to use same colour bait as method mix.
The first video of the carp emptying your feeder and ignoring every other bait in the area is amazing. It's not just it wasn't scared of the feeder, it was actually looking for the feeder! Maybe feeders need to be white, day glo orange, or have a flashing led!
Hi Joe fantastic video and really helpful and shows how the feeder and bait work.
As well as how the carp react is priceless.
Just noticed that you have 5 thumbs down as I leave this message.
What is wrong with these people?
Keep up the good work pal.
Well you can't please everyone 👍
Just started to buy fishing gear at 74. Watching loads of video's. Most interesting and sensible. Many thanks for this video. ... by-the-way, hyperbole ... is pronounced, 'hi-per-bow-ley ... not, hi-per-bowl... :) Hope that information helps too... :)... Great work here... more please... :)
great video shown this to my son he`s buzzing now to go fishing
Tried it, now i would never go back to how i loaded a feeder before. The results were savage bites, every time, and hooked in the bottom lip. Unbelievable the difference this one little tweak has made to my catch rate. The secrets out.
Brilliant cheers
Great video mate thanks
Great video Joe. This new way of loading the hookbait is so obvious when you see the video footage, but as you say the old way of doing it would appear to be correct if you hadn't.
Great stuff
Well done Joe makes u think bit also makes sense will try this next time i am out modern technoligy ay under water footage game changeing 👍
👍
Very insightful video makes sense tho gonna try it next we're did you get the click release moulds to fit them ?
simply superb
Maaaaan .... 2 years of method fishing but this is like a new birth :D Thank you
Yes good vlog ... but i do both methods ... & yes can get results on both ways .. ok pellet on top may take a bit longer to catch but do still catch .... but yes can see ypur point .... well done ... will try the latter one more often ....thx ....
brilliant mate
Great system. As an out and out Pike angler, I thought I would take on some of my match angler colleagues who say I have not got the finesse to catch anything without teeth!! The match men turned up with more tackle than Angling Direct and Fishing Republic put together - pole, rods, barrows brollies, I used one rod - Shakespeare BORON 13' match rod, 6llb line , with a size 16 banded 3" hook length which landed me a 15llb carp and loads of bream and skimmers. Not bad for an old country boy.
Sure it was Andy Findley witht the banjo feeder Idea but other than that, great Vid and now Ive changed how I load these types of feeders
It was his idea. But loading it hook bait first was deffo TP
Tommy also recommended all bottom holes to be filled in as the original banjos were solid with plastic sides, a must on deep venues.
I used to load banjos this way having watched tommys videos but gradually moved away from it having watched other experts do it differently I put the gradual drop off in bite conversation to the fish wising up ! Back to being a true believer well done joe
From S Africa. I like, I like. Will be doing this from now on as it makes sense.
Thanks joe that’s really helped 👍
😎
Guess that's what they pay you for Joe, excellent illustration & footage, keep up the good work & Thank you.
😁
That is a good way never thought of that way I will try that see if it works thanks
Joe a well presented video, very informative, sometimes the obvious can be staring you in the face as the video shows, two number 8 stotzs at the hook length also works well, keeps the bait static and doesn't bother the fish.
Deffo
Great bud Joe, I’ll be trying it next time thanks again, I’m going to send you a Leeds mug bud 😂.
I'll try not to drop it 🤣
@@MatchFishingFilms 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great job
Hi Joe ...great vid...., it would be interesting to see a 4mm banded pellet disguised in with the micros, or do you think the lighter weight would get it wafted off the feeder? it's clear the carp just take a big suck at the pile of pellets. Definitely have to get the pellets perfect too.
Yes I think a small pellet is ideal!
Thanks bro you help me so much
Hello Joe interesting video.
I have a question though. Would it work with pellets in feeder topped off with groundbait on top, ie a 2 layer approach?
Thanks Joe got out first time today and 1st fish of the year a lovely 7lb common...
I only caught but I only managed a 2hrs session and my favourite pegs were taken...
Nice work!
Awsome I'll try next I go fishing 🎣 😀
Thank you! Now that Im thinking why we dont weight ongoing floats???? Just put weight on them.. I always put the split just under the float So the rest of the line is more natural move and if its ongoing float there is no chance its tangle with weight on it..
Great video , crap coffee cup 🤣
Going method fishing for the first time tomorrow, I’ll let you know how I got on using this method , thanks for the tip.
Great footage
Amazing isn't it. Many hours of heartache went into capturing those scenes 😅
👍👍👍 great video cheers
Grazie❤! From Italia
Been loading methods and hybrids a similar way either hook bait last or sandwiched in between pellets In the mould nice to see what I tested in the bait tub actually happens on the lake bed
awesome
Great video!. Super tip!
Glad it was helpful!
