Great film again. Love your honesty and modesty, Joe. And I, for one, would definitely be interested in a landing net head like that one!

This is very much Mr Wotton's and Mr Kerry's 'cup of tea'....always found Jon Arthurs video's good for river knowledge for future outings. I enjoy a day long range hybrid feeder fishing. A long stem and stiffer tip is always helpful for a long chuck.

Great video Joe! Best thing about fishing is that you’re always learning, you’ll never master everything and that’s the beauty of watching all these videos and tutorials on RUclips. 👏👏

Always always tug on your line with your rig behind you before you cast to make sure no line has wrapped around your tip when distance casting. Retrieving long distances your biggest enemy is introducing line twist on retrieval and playing fish in taking regularly off the clutch. It’s so important to hang a long line off the tip to let that twist in the casting length work itself out before the cast.
I do long distance casting all the time, line twist is your enemy and with supple lines it’s so easy for it to loop around you rod eyes.
So my advice, pause with the rod ready to launch behind you then tug on the line in front of the reel a couple of times to ensure it is not hung up before the cast.

How about doing a canal video as part of the "out of my comfort zone" series...... or on a river for chub and big perch?

Let me give you an angle on method fishing - i call it paste method - 14 hook, banded 6 mm. sprinkle a little gb in the mould - then put the paste (quite firm) covered hook and banded pellet on top then cover with micros mould and cast - the gb at the top of the mould (put in first) is to stop the paste sticking in the mould and messing up the moulded method. You can do this with any size hook and banded pellet or even corn etc AWESOME carp LOVE it - so few people do it...!

    Great video Joe
See the XL stem with flights, I can see how it works in the air when flying after a cast
    But
How does it behave going down through the water???
I always imagine the flights would make it nose dive perpendicular to the bottom and always fear it might be stood up in silted bottomed waters ???
Then if you tighten up to flatten it off then maybe it ends up upside down???

The landing net is something that could be usefull for my chub fishing Joe. Let me know about cost please if they come out. The extra depth is brilliant for us chub anglers as you say for resting fish in the margins.

i think itd be great for nufish to produce a larger landing net. theres an obvious need for them. i had to buy mine from another brand. carp growing so quickly at every venue i go. a huge size and weight increase

You don't have to be big and strong to chuck over 100M, I thoght the same thing as you , Luckly I met Mark Hutchinson at an open day on one of my local venues and with a few tips I improved so much, managed to hit 200m range with a 13ft Freespirit carp rod, even though I am a feeder angler. Have a look at some of his videos as they also pack some good info on distaces casting with feeder rods.
